LETSGO I HAVE SOMETHING TO WATCH TONIGHT AYY

Tekbox

Fuck I came here thinking yay more steins gate and then after starting to watch I'm like wait a sec I'm an idiot I watched the stream

Jeppe Beier

Let's be honest. Chuuni characters are cool. I'd be a chuuni if I didn't care about upholding my public image.

Kevin Williams

The show really never gets into the concept of Attractor Fields, which is the idea that no matter how you change the past, worldlines trend towards similar outcomes. In this case, Rukako became a girl, but because the worldline still moves towards similar events, her social experiences remained similar to when she was a boy.

Arctic

people say the first half is boring but I allways liked its pacing, but...It just gets better and better from here on out

Kyubey001

This anime is too great for twitch, should be on youtube series or friday slot.

Really wish I was here for the live, so I could explain in real-time. The present is a fixed point, moving forward. 'Future you' doesn't exist to send messages back to yourself in the present. Only the present in this theory can alter the past. Consider the avengers, during End Game, who also use this theory. Humans exist linearly. Everything that has happened has to have already happened. If you change the past, you create a new point. (or world line, as Steins;Gate calls it) The new point is created from the change, specifically so that everything in the previous timeline that led up to the point of you changing time still happens. If it did not create a new timeline, you would create a paradox. To explain this, the Paradox would happen because say you send a message with the lottery numbers, win the lottery, and then catch up to present time, you would then have to send the lottery numbers to the past, creating an infinite loop. If you did not, You just won the lottery, caught up to present, and then didn't send the message the second time, paradox would happen, and space/time would collapse on itself from the error. Edit: After typing all this, I would like to point out that in the first episode (that is, episode 7, the first one in this video.) You paused twice to ask, and interject your own theory. It is later explained in the same episode, but it was tickling my brain so I paused and cranked all this out. xD

tsundere: a person who pretends to hate but actually loves a person. Think of it like a little boy who likes a girl but doesn't understand his own emotions so he pulls her hair.

Well there's that and also the fact of 2 other things: 1. Paradoxes "can't" exist and so for them to have sent that d-mail they have to be friends, it's no different to how Okabe randomly still stood in Faris' apartment place and still became friends, it's course correction and hence why he no longer retains that worlds memories. (This 1 is kinda what you said) 2. Disregarding 1, Ruka lives a very sheltered lifestyle, to begin with, and without spoiling anything their reason for wanting to be a girl is stable across both world lines, I'll discuss that next week or the week after, when "that" episode happens.

Only people who drop it call it boring, it's not ranked #2 on MAL for nothing. 90% of the shows in the top 100 are shounen, adventure, battle-type stuff. Even #1 is FMA B. Steins Gate stands high cause those who finish it have no way to discredit it, the show is complete as it's one of the few that had a complete story prior to being made. You look at FMA B and Steins Gate both being at the top, neither had as much hype as say SAO, Chainsaw man, yada yada. Yet they're at the top cause there's no filler, and the storytelling is near perfect in both. It's definitely the weaker half, but it allows you to form attachments to the characters, and their wishes (D mail's) and leads into what the story becomes. Most people who don't like shows like this tend to be teenagers or those who never grew out of their severely overpaced shounen where there's a battle every episode. Look at the HATE MHA season 5 got for being less action-packed despite setting up the biggest arc in the series...

Addstir

I would agree, but I also prefer 6/7 episodes of this per week vs the 3 we get on YouTube. On top of that, this show has less of a "cry" factor in it. The earliest episode you're gonna cry at is 12, and then obviously the later stuff. Luke has shown he doesn't mind crying on camera, but there are some anime that need to be on YouTube, like Re Zero. Chat will likely ruin "the speech" and that'd make me very upset. Where as with Steins Gate, I can be more confident that there's less to spoil, and so far I haven't seen much or joking about the small stuff even. I would say nearly all shows are best for Patreon/YouTube, since watching a show solo or with your partner is gonna be much more personal to you as a viewer, than in front of thousands live. But as long as he's not watching stuff that requires you to zone in and devote yourself, on stream, it's all good. E.g. Re Zero, Made in abyss, etc

Addstir

Not quite, it's more a dishonesty to oneself about your feelings, and thus you tend to act cold towards them. People often go for the most extreme explanations of -dere's. E.g. People say Yandere = kills people, which isn't inherently true. The Yan is more about the unstable mindset and toxicity of clinginess/possessiveness.

Miklar Sihn

This show just leaves you so damn empty after that episode. It is perfect. You are just sitting there without any idea how to take what you just saw.

Miklar Sihn

Well... not really in the worldline interpretation. In this interpretation paradoxes are impossible. What time travel allows is for one worldline to change another. So when you are sending that message to the past, you are creating another worldline where that message got send. The current worldline doesnt have to send it, because the sending of the message has already happened in the other worldline. Everything that happened in that worldline is entirely real. This looks very much like the multiverse view of timetravel, but it technically doesnt need a multiverse, as it only needs to take into account actions taken in alternate universes. These universes may collapse and then become the newly generated one or they may exist undisturbed.

Frank Stendal

when the kind of silly kind of deep anime you've been watching TAKES A TURN

Some0neElse

I highly recommend watching the anime in this order for best viewing experience and better clarity on things: Steins gate S1 ep. 1 - 22 Steins gate S1 ep. 23b (beta) Steins gate 0 (season 2) Steins gate S1 ep 23, 24, 25

Kitsune

It had to end at the worst cliffhanger lol

Misteryk

If he's going to watch Steins gate 0 when he'll have to watch Fate/stay night,Fate/stay night UBW and Fate/stay night HF together with Fate/Zero when it wins

Some0neElse

He already said hes gonna watch SG 0 though. If he does it why not do it in a way it will make sense. I hope i dont spoil anything but watching full S1 and then going to 0 will leave him scratching his head over wtf is going on

TenBits

sorry i disagree heavily, for the point on clarity because the whole intent of the series is to lack that clarity and create mystery and intrigue, definitely great for a second watch through but not the first imo

Some0neElse

maybe... i know when i first watched it there wasnt 0 and i was content with watching the entire s1. It made sense and felt complete. Then 0 started and i was confused af as to why things are as they are and started looking for explanation on the net and kinda spoiled the show for myself. I still enjoyed it but it always felt like part of s1 that was taken out and made into another season because the show was becoming too lengthy

Anonymous

I understand that. I was merely explaining that paradoxes are the result of tampering with world line 1, which is why the new line is created to fully avoid the event, while reflecting the effects of the change.

TenBits

i kinda get what youre saying but i feel like if you do it your way you kinda lose the shock and surprise value of some of the moments because you know that backstory and imo that can make the streamers reaction less exciting

Nathan S.

Greatest show of all time, thanks for the react. It will make you tear up fersure. Okabe's japanese voice actor was also a major factor in making this anime popular. His laugh, childish nature, famous phrases and yet still young adult seriousness was relatable at the time. Tsundere was a popular anime characteristic, used in many genres, harsh person trying to hide underlying emotion, mostly for girls.

Dethrox

Hmm tbh.. :D Rukako always acted like a girl.. :D only thing that would change is different restroom :D and my theory is that the veggy thing didnt actually work.. but its like 50/50 for having a girl or a boy so they like.. threw the coin again and it fell on a girl this time :D maybe

EP 11 - 2:01:10 "AllYourBase.." - "Arebelongtous" - love the Star Craft reference (as we knew it back then)

2023-03-18 17:44:20 Oof, this is my first time using the relatively new Patreon video player. It's rough when my connection is weak since it doesn't let me choose video quality, but it worked for the most part. See you tomorrow for the next batch of episodes!

2024-05-20 09:48:31 As of episode 7's beginning, I guess you didn't pay attention to anything they talked about time travel explained in the anime so far.

I wish you paused the video while interacting with the chat. You missed so many important lines of dialogue. Maybe you should have watched the dub instead of the sub so that you can listen to important dialogues and understand them without subtitles. That way even if you were interacting with chat, you could tell something important had been said and focus more on it.
