Something to remember is that not all devils that people have contracts with are in captivity, but Public Safety keeps some devils alive specifically for their powers, like the Future Devil that Aki is meeting. Some devils are friendly with humans, like the Fox Devil and other devils are just out in the wild and will make contracts based on opportunity, like the Zombie Devil from the first episode. The thing about the devil hunters in Public Safety is that they almost all have contracts with devils to have power beyond that of normal humans, allowing them to combat devils. As for your question about going private - think of Public Safety as being like law enforcement for devils while there are private devil hunters that are more like private investigators. Public Safety tends to deal with the larger threats while leaving less dangerous targets to the private hunters. Although he was working for gangsters, Denji at the start of the series is a private devil hunter and is killing devils to harvest body parts for profit.

lets just say that this ending may be the most important one

About the sister who visited Aki and the differences between the private sector and public safety. Yes, that was Himenos little sister. And the reason she brought the letters was to show how serious Himeno was about moving to the private sector. Now about the private sector. Remember how Denji fought some weak devils early? Like the tomato devil? Yeah, thats the type of devils people in the private sector fights. Private sector devil hunters are like P.I.s or bounty hunters. They are able to choose which jobs to take. So they never need to take jobs that can kill them. So it figures that the opposite is true of the public safety. Public safety is like the police or the military. If you are a part of it, you go and fight whatever is available and where you are needed. And since the private sector take most the safe jobs... That means the public safety is forced to deal with the dangerous ones. For competent hunters like Aki and Himeno, moving to the private sector means there is no real danger to their life. Himenos sister, by bringing the letter, is telling Aki that he killed her...

Animeter

you haven't seen the rest of division 4, yet.

Aki's devil is the Curse Devil and i was surprised that you didn't react at all when the Curse devil responded to Aki that he has 2 years left to live :-|

ren_real

The guy training Power and Denji was in a flashback in episode 5. He introduced Aki to Himeno as her new partner in the graveyard. He also trained Aki.

Anime recommendations replacing chainsaw mans slot: Monster - if you want a dark anime about a doctor chasing down a patient he saved years ago who has become a serial killer. Vinland Saga - viking anime, lots of action/character development and a very intresting characters. Jujutsu Kaisen - Same vibes as chainsaw man, a lot of cool action with amazing animation and interesting powers.

Richard Wheeler

I recommend Demon Slayer or Jujutsu Kaisen!! Both are continuing very soon, so it'd be a great time to get them started. These two might be contenders for the AOT slot though, but both are technically shorter than Slime

Richard Wheeler

The snake girl mentioned it only once: the Curse Devil is part of Aki's nail-sword's contract Edit: they mentioned it later XD Going private means you only handle the easier jobs unlike public, which they're in right now. It pretty becomes like an 8-5, easier job instead of 24/7, ridiculously hard job. Public still have their day off, but push comes to shove, they'll be treated like salary and will have to deal with whatever if there's an emergency.

AndyP

Would like to reccomend Summer Time Rendering, it has 25 eps and finished story. It would be perfect for "1 ep per week" format

Dylan Cromche

i totally agree with this, he should react to the openings and endings first

14:37 The windows error sound when the fox devil didn't show up made me laugh way too hard

Bro... how are you asking what devil that is when every time it's been shown Aki has called it by what it is and literally right before you asked that he called it's name again... You really don't seem to be paying much attention lately, lol.

dg_2drunk

For why most of the Hunters seem not that strong to keep that business running: you have to remind yourself that they have their life on the line every day, so even if they have very strong hunters, some day it's gonna kill them, either by contract or in a fight. Pretty realistic that there isn't like a big group of elites around that is just unkillable.

Beanssss

This ending is mostly just manga spoilers out of context.

Jaden89

if you want to know, the actor that voices the strongest devil hunter also voices Levi from Attack on Titan, so it's no wonder you like him

ZckFox

I would recommend Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex. It's a sci-fi police procedural. There is on overarching story that gets resolved in a single season and each one-off episode is some sort of thought experiment like a Black Mirror or Twilight Zone episode.

Dane Fisette

I think you should check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and One Piece (the greatest story ever told) lol

Anonymous

One Piece has like 1k episodes or something. Even if he were to upload one a day it would still take almost 3 years to get up to date

Dane Fisette

But what if he uploaded 3 a day lol he just cuts out the opening, the recap, and the ending

Maxine

Didn't even notice Aki only having 2 years left to live. lol

Big T

For a weekly anime, I’d love to see you react to Wolf’s Rain, and the dub is great for this one. And I usually prefer subs.

Aiyuu

I recommend Demon slayer. Nothing as crazy as Chainsaw man or Attack on Titan but it's a good anime for starters. It has a straight forward plot, very emotional and heartwarming. It is quite inspiring and motivates you to look at the world with positivity. Since you've already watched quite a few complicated shows, i reckon this will be refreshing.

Lex

I would like to recommend you a veteran singer Hanatan, a popular cover singer, Niwaka Ame and digital wing from her cover is really good.

Ohms

I would love if you would react to the openings for Blood Blockade Battlefront! Its a hilarious anime with amazing fights and a zany world, and also, both seasons combined would be the length of a normal season for other anime (24 total across two seasons) so it would be easier to do.

Reddawn Rocker

Not Levi, Hannes the town guard friend of Eren, Mikasi and Armin in their youth.

itaral

Based on what you're saying about chainsawman i think you'd realy enjoy jujutsu kaisen.

kiwi

Chainsaw Man is actually considered amazing for the plot, not the action, which should tell you a lot, considering how good the action is. Someone once described the author of the manga like this: "Just when you expect him to take one step forward, he takes two steps to the left and then levitates." And I have found this to be completely true for every single thing he's written.

kiwi

I also think that Jujutsu Kaisen would be a good replacement for CSM

Hibou Owll

If you remember in the first, or second episode, Makima tells them that they are a new tryout group. So, their division 4 is pretty new. So it is entirely possible that that much powerful hunter are out there (imagine Drunkguy or Miss Makima level) hunting other devil in Kyoto, or anywhere else in the world really. So, it doesn't meant that the group we follow are the one who captured them, it could be someone else. But that is my theory to your question.

Adam Niemi

this ending is more foreshadowing

Zillatain

Yeah, there wasn't even flicker of response to that information. All of the other reactors I've seen had at least a little reaction to that. But him? Nothing. Also asking what devil Aki's is contracted with, when Aki just said what it was.
