For the pronunciation stuff The character's name is Ryuk (Ree - ook) His species is Shinigami (Shee - Nee - Gah - Mee) 'Shini' means death 'Gami' means god Lit. Death God, or God of Death As for an explanation for the rule: "After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds." Say you write someone's name, followed by a cause of death. (ex. Jim Bob, Accidental Death) You then have 6 minutes and 40 seconds to write out the details surrounding the death. (ie. Time, more exact cause of death, etc.) Of course there are more rules about how these "details" work that will be revealed as the show goes on.

the time limit to write conditions in the note book starts with 4 (time unit: a second). 40 seconds for writing the cause of death. 400 seconds (6 minutes and 40 secs) to specify details.
