Hey Luke, I just wanna say, I saw some people in chat say that this is the best isekai to exist, based opinion i guess but I very much disagree. top three for sure from what ive watched, but id say for me, Overlord is the best isekai ever, followed by RE:Zero, and then this show. You already know how fun and amazing this show is, so do with this information what you will.

Youjo Senki? Mushoku Tensei? There are a lot of good Isekai, however I agree that Overlord and Re:Zero are among the best.

z.z yeah, I feel like youjo senki and mushoku tensei have better story and world building + action scenes than slime, i'd put slime like top5 not top3

For me the best Isekai is still Digimon 1 and 2. Nothing can beat Childhood nostalgia. Inuyasha is another great classic :D How do we rate what anime is good or not tho? I would say Tensura has better world building because things actually get explained organicly. Lets also not forget the 5 seasons that "Zero no Tsukaima" had, pretty good as well!

Biggest strength of Rimuru’s army is that he basically created a working TEAM, he is a leader, not a lord. That s op af. His ppl can operate autonomously and it s a great adantage.

That's why I said "from what I've seen". My comparisons are rising of shield hero, the one about an assassin that got reincarnated, a random one about a young overpowered wizard, and I don't remember the others. Tells you something about my Isekai experience. Not really my favorite genre so I think my top three is decent enough, but I'm sure there's a banger I watched that I just forgot about

Actually I was watching Tanya the evil cause it's supposed to be one of the better esekai, but my top three is still the same o didn't actually finish Tanya got about 8 episodes in before I got bored

I know that the next show to come after this is probably going to be R:E Zero or Overloard given how many people are PINING for those shows (for very good reason, they're great!) but I personally am hoping for you to watch Bongou Stray Dogs at some point in the near future. You seem to love animes with great characterization and teams of people who you connect with and Bungou Stray Dogs does that in spades, along with amazingly well animated and intense action scenes and hilarious comedy. Its also dark but in a subtle way, just like Slime, so I'd say its a good follow up. But with Overlord and Re:Zero in the running, I'll still be happy with whatever choice is made at the end of the day, as all of these options are great!

I think assassination classroom would be a great replacement for slime, really great show, the first one I ever watched and what got me into this wacky world of anime. AOT was my second, very drastic difference.

You really see how OP Rimuru is by looking at his allies - He befriended 2 demon lords, one of the most influential empires, the forest dryads... and a dragon that scare shtless even demon lords Also the "fight" that the elf guy started was a reference to Naruto

That time I got reincarnated as a slime in my opinion is better than Overlord don't get me wrong Overlord is really good untie the last season but I think that time I got reincarnated as a slime is just better than Overlord cause unlike Overlord every season of that time I got reincarnated as a slime is good but Overlord the last seasons kinda sucked

In my opinion a good anime to replace that time I got reincarnated as a slime is VIOLET EVERGARDEN it has the feels and some dark themes and is short with only 12 episodes it's so good it's not an action show it's a for the story and plot kind of show there are some snippets of action though and it touches on some very mature things mentally if anyone reading this comment hasn't seen violet evergarden please go watch it just so you know how good it is you can find it on Netflix

Btw - on episode 21 "Adalmann, the Index Finger" you should watch the intro, even if you have to mute the stream to do it. The intro is designed to sort of extend the scene in that episode.

I recommend 86 for the next weekly anime twitch watchalong because the story is good and really want it to be recognized by other people. It has war drama like aot and has the satisfying ending to the show or season. SAO is also good but the story gets bad after 1st season I think? But still fun to watch some teenage kid slashing his way to survive a death game.

The japanese voice acting for slime is just so insanely good, I have no clue how there were so many people who wanted the english dub, there is no way that it begins to compare.

STONE Ever imagined how it would be to build up our civilization again if you would be stranded in a stone-age-like world, but you still have all your knowledge from our modern times? Then this is your anime. Basically: How to build a modern civilization from zero. Extremely interesting, realistic, and you'll learn a lot about how to build advanced modern stuff with the most basic equipment possible. And the main character may not behave as nice as Rimuru, but has the same good heart (even if he tries to not show it). No nudity, not even scenes like the elves & Rimuru.

Or LOG HORIZON. This is about people who get stucked in an MMO. But not like Overlord, where you are just a single person and the world becomes real. Not like in SAO, where its clear that you are in a game and whats going on. The protagonists here have no clue whats going on. They just know, they suddenly live in a world thats basically like their MMO, but not to 100%. And there are thousands of players. So while they are searching for answers, they have to overcome the issues that something like this brings, working together, setting up rules, build a society. In the later seasons the story loses some of its momentum, but especially the first season is really, really nice. And we have a mastermind main character who is not an OP chara like Rimuru or Overlord, he is just very intelligent and uses this. No nudity and nearly no "ecchi" (thats what scenes like the ones with the elves & Rimuru or Shions large bust are called)

He should definitely go for Re:Zero after this. Overlord is cool but it's another power fantasy coming straight out of Slime. Re:Zero has higher stakes and IMO a better story.

I'd recommend either Mushoku Tensei, So I'm a spider, So What? , Re: Zero or Spy x Famly as the next twitch anime. All are great choices imo.

Next week is going to be the last one!!!!! Sheeeesh. Also I'd recommend Re:zero, Steins;Gate, Sword Art Online, or The Fate series to replace Slime. Or if you want something a bit more lighthearted go with Konosuba, Kill la Kill, or Code geass.

Tanya the Evil (military isekai) is awesome and Twitch save. But only 12-13 episodes + Canon OVA + Movie, and Season 2 is supposed to release this year. Black Lagoon (modern mafia/piracy anime) is awesome too and has enough episodes + Canon OVAs for a few weeks like slime. M

Sadly its currently only a rumor, all we know is that season 2 is in production since 2021. But they started to take pre orders for a new Tanya Figurine which is intended to be delivered November 2023. Figure Page: https://fnex.jp/i/382 I think we'll probably see the new season in the winter season 2023, it would make sense to release a figure together with it^^.

Carrion saying he could fight with Milim is laughable. At that point she was at least 50 times if not 100 times stronger than he was. Milim is the bar to determine power and even at the end of the LN few can match her. She's just built different.

I would suggest Violet Evergarden, its a Netflix show and unlike everything until now, its not "Action" Anime. Drama, Fantasy, Slice of Life are the gernes. Should be twitch friendly and a 10/10 Anime!

When he was fighting Hinata he said it was like FIGHTING Great Sage this is due to her extreme level of skill and one of her Uniques if I remember that correctly. Oh, and she can steal skills from people but Rimuru was too weak for her to be able to use it on him.
