The way Eren's dad talks about the Attack Titan's ability is not quite right. The ability actually is that the holder of the Attack Titan can send back their memories to the previous users. So an Attack Titan in the past can receive the memories of a host of the Attack Titan who will come later in the future. That's why Eren Kruger knew about Armin and Mikasa. I wonder if the reason why the Attack Titan always fights for freedom is because Eren Yeager had that spirit from the very beginning, and he influences the others in the past.

you should rewatch the season 2 ending, it has a lot of references to this episode, The crazy thing is that it wasn't even in the manga back then, so it was kind of teased in the anime before it was in the manga

Fantastic reaction! Ymir was enslaved by Fritz, who set his soldiers on her. When she gained the power, she came back to serve Fritz. Earlier, Zeke mentioned she is a slave with no will of her own, who blindly obeys those with royal blood. "Eren can see the future! Why not trust him? He has all the answers!" Maybe a psychopath shouldn't be trusted, even if he has all the answers. I mean, at the end of season 3 he was the character who said "If we kill all our enemies over there, will we finally be free?" He assumes that ALL non-Eldians are enemies of Eldians.

Next aot episode will air march 4 at 12:25 a.m. JST and release with english subtitles will be around an hour later and the episode will last for over an hour but for next we will have to wait again cause final part of final season is split into 2 parts which sounds pretty funny and the first part of the final season final part will be just this one one hour long episode.

By the way Episode 21s title Name perfectly mirrors the title name of Episode one of season one "to you 2000 years from now" From you 2000 years ago" also the tree from the Ilses notebook Ova was a reference to the one from this episode with Ymirs backstory and the Titan also going to fake Ymir lookalike Ilse and saying "subject of Ymir" was a huge foreshadowing to this back in season 1

Think about it this way: Eren is still someone trying to protect someone who cannot protect themselves. He protected Mikasa, forcing her to protect herself eventually. Now he's protecting Ymir, forcing her to also protect herself (at least, this is how I see it). And the reason Eren is so big is because his body had to grow to reconnect his head to his body, so Ymir just made him HUGE (again, this is how I see it).

So much happened these 2 episodes. I would love to just discuss what happened. So Ymir and her village was raided by a plundering party (vikings) and became slaves. While in slavery, she gets the idea that happiness is to be useful to someone (marriage scene). She saves a pig immediately after, gets betrayed by the other slaves, is set "free" and hunted down by "king fritz." Ymir falls into a pool of water inside a massive tree containing a centipede parasite thing, makes contact, becomes titan. In typical stockholm syndrome, returns to serve her former master that tried to kill her. She has no will of her own and only knows how to serve others. Fritz breeds her and uses her to conquer the land. Specifically the Marley empire (Romans). DIES and gets eaten by her 3 daughters. Meanwhile at the coordinate where time and space are the same, she continues to toil making titan bodies watching the tree grow (her legacy, her bloodline multiply through cannibalism and more breeding). The coordinate is a place where every place and time is connected so that is where Eren is able to do all his time travel nonsense and telepathy. It's a question of which came first, the chicken or the egg? Eren's existence/destiny was predetermined by the time he was born, manipulated by himself in the future, but his future self has to make sure his past self arrives to his future self. Eren is essentially GOD looking from outside time and manipulating reality. He wants to destroy the rest of the world so his "race will be safe" from all the others. Oppression leads to oppression and bloodshed. King fritz and his eldians kills the Marley people. The eldians and some key titans betray Fritz and Marley wins war. Paradis is created as a retreat. Marley rules over Eldians. Eldians are mistreated due to their killings and tyranny. Marleyians attack Paradis to capture the founder titan. Paradis attacks Marleyians and rest of the world in response. This show is heavily inspired by world war 2. It's basically a race war.

I think correction is in place, syiamaral, at least from my perspective it seems like it. The whole point of Eren is precisely the fact that he is NOT a god, although he possesses godlike ability of seeing future (and way to show himself to his predecessor-titan-inheritors), not manipulating the past and future, which is shown by the his facial expression when he has to struggle out of the chains against Zeke. Also the whole point of this show, I think, is to show the fallacy of human decision making, from early ones like selfimportant and selfserving denounciation of war by King of the walls, later on by Marley and warrior canidates (Reiner and co.) to continue the mission, Erwin with his gambles and so on. Each of the characters are brilliant in the human way they are portrayed due to the simple facts - they all lack the whole picture (Marley does, people in the walls do, Royal family does, Eren and the rest...) until things go too far to be mended between the world outside and Paradis island. Or that's what Eren thinks, and that again shows his eternal stuborness and will to do things his own way. It is his human, imperfect choice, the easiest way to save his family (Armin, Mikasa and the rest) by destroying the whole world, typical of him, since he never thought things through very much, and never had the patience to pursue alternative choices.

So, just so you know. There's kind of a debate about whether or not the attack titan really has the ABILITY to see the future. It can be said that it's more like Eren specifically using the holders of this titan to show glimpses of the future to. As far as we know the only futures revealed to the attack titan is based of off Eren. Even the glimpses of future Eren himself can see are fron his future self (episode 1's dream). I personally feel like it shouldn't really be called an ability, considering the titan holder can't freely glimpse into the future. It just so happened to be Eren using those specific shifters. Btw I could totally recommend watching some theories about it on YouTube, it's very fun to theorise about the form of time travel within this anime and all the significance it has regarding every single episodes up until now.

from what i understand, the attack titan can't really see the future. Eren, thanks to the power of the founding titan, can send memories/images of what he sees. So his future "him" can send memories to his past. He can also send them to former owners of the attack titan. Grisha who did not have the power of the founding titan could not send a memory.

The future that the AT can see is only limited to what its future inheritors remember. If no one else inherits the AT after Eren then the "future" able to be seen ends with Erens memories and experiences.

My thing is, unless there’s a way for Eldians to get rid of the ability to turn into titans, the rest of the world was never gonna leave them alone. The Global alliance led my Marley wants to wipe out Eldians. Zeke, even tho he glorifies his plan, also wants to wipe out Eldians. And even if they went with Zeke’s plan, there’s no guarantee that the global alliance will just say “Alright cool we’ll leave you guys alone then.” Both plans result in the genocide of Eldians for basically no reason. The world wants to kill off an entire race because up to 9 of them can turn into titans at will. Sure Eren’s plan is also genocide but if I was living in Paradis I know which one I’d support.

To kind of piggy back on what Yessi said the Attack Titan is able to share its memories with all inheritors past and present...meaning to get to the point where we are in the story Eren, his future self, sent memories to Kruger to tell Dr. Jaeger to protect Armin and Mikasa. He also sent select memories to his father to put him on the path to getting the founder. He did some other things but won't get into specifics about those but essentially Eren from the future sent memories to make sure everything we have seen take place so that he could get full access to the founding titan. It is akin to time traveling but it really isn't as there is only 1 timeline. Side note not sure if you caught it the title of Episode 1 is To You, in 2000 years where as this title was From you, in 2000 years. Another nod to the all eldians are connected and memories being shared/sent.

To clear this up, Ymir's town was taken over by King Fritz and the eldiqn people. She got enslaved and her tongue got cut out. At a later point she leaves a pig pen's gate open. For this the King let's her go "free". She then gets hunted by Eldian Soldiers until she falls down a tree. Ymir touches something and transforms into a titan. She doesn't know anything except for Eldia, her home, so she goes back to King Fritz and uses the power of the titans to do as the king commands. She has three children with King Fritz and a few years later, 13 years after getting the power she dies from a spear.

BTW. Grisha saw/ remembered everything, where he reacts to to Eren and Zeke through Eren's memories. That's how the Attack Titan's power works. Eren/ Grisha doesn't see the whole future, instead they see memories of of Attack titan holders from the future.

I would just like to point out that this episode, titled "From You, 2000 Years Ago" directly ends the setup that literally episode one of season one foreshadowed, which Episode One Season One was "To You, in 2000 Years". Episode one aired 13 years ago, and the chapter from the manga was titled the same thing and is even further back. The manga just ended. It's insanity how well thought out this series is, and the author has even stated he's had this ending in mind from the very first page.

just for some insight into the future, the reason Eren was so boney and not humanoid (like all the others) is because the 'parasite' didnt pull him back together and just transformed to the parasite turned into a giant spine for Eren's founding titan

Let me set some things straight with episode 20 for you - no spoilers for later episodes. Eren can not SEE the future. He can SHOW the future. Although Coordinate-wise it's all the same

The debate was settled a long time ago.all shifters can acces to a degree the previous shifter's memories. The attack titan shifters has the unique lets call it power to also see the future holders memories. So any of them couls technically see their future by looking at the shifter before while they are looking at the future (wow that is a sentence). Baaically present me seeing past you lookin at future me. And to end this message, the memories eren saw on episode one are actually a mistake on the series as he wasn't a holder yet therefore he didnt had acces to any memories yet. That's probably a leftovers from the all the other ways the story could have go as isayama alrrqdy has confirmed that from the start different tipe of timeloops where an option

Apparently there will be no next season yet, which will be released on March 3 from what the studio announces is a special 1-hour episode and that's it, and the final part would be released until the end of the year

Not really, the Eldians terrorized the world for 1900 years or so. The Marleyans just kept the trend going after they took over. Also it doesn't matter who caused it it's a fact that all others hate Eldians and want to wipe them out to prevent titans from ever being a problem again.

If they had just let her die right there then we wouldnt have titans and theyd lose their huge military advantage... Also those arent just "the kings daughters" those are Ymirs kids too

I haven't watched the end yet but I got to say, how are people so slow to get things while watching shingeki, I know is poorly written but "eren can see into the future" no, he can't they literally just explained that grisha can see into eren memories, and yes, eren can see into the past at grisha seing the future, but come on people, the hint of the ending is right there, eren never saw memories of a future user, giving away that there is no future user

I'm just wondering about Ymir, she seemed to snap, wake up. Is this Eren's doing (the rumbling) or is Ymir the one that wants this. He wanted her to stop being a slave. There' still a lot to unpack it feels like.

The soundtrack for Season 4, especially Part 2, is the best. Just that track when Eren starts to transform and the walls come down is absolutely perfect for the scene : it's eerie, because what's about to happen is not the happy victory we would have wanted, and because an event that has been foreshadowed since the last season is finally starting.

I think there are youtube vids that spell it out but the Rumbling was well time. If it had happened 20-30 years later, the wall titans would have been snuffed out - assuming the militaries had enough ammo. At the time of the show, the world's armies are around ww1 level of tech. If they had WW2 level of tech they would have stuff like 40mm AA automatic cannon with explosive shells - which would decapitate those titans from a mile away. After the heads come off you could deal with the nape-of-the-neck in a variety of ways. Bigger cannons would do more damage but they wouldn't have the HIGH rate of fire of an AA gun in the 37-40mm range.
