WHY DO I FEEL FOR ZEKE NOW?!! WHAT IS THIS!!!!

Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to ATTACK ON TITAN Season 4 Episode 15!

Enjoy!

Comments

GB3

I don’t know if the terminology is just for the video title but you can’t look at people in this show as “good” or “bad” This isn’t a basic marvel movie where there are good guys and they defeat the bad guy. This story way more complex than that. Just think of different people and different sides with different motivations

Yessi

This backstory made zeke my absolute favorite character in the show.. He came up with a plan that would legitimately be the best for everyone. No one would have to suffer, and conflict would end.. Although attack on titan is not a show where one should be picking sides, if i have to I'd 100% be behind Zeke

Dj

I'd recommend black clover for making you feel sorry for the bad guys. The plot twists are insane there and Aot

Anarkhie

There aren't many animes as well written as Attack on Titan is. I've seen so many animes but for me, the few I can think of that have absolute top tier storytelling and characterizations, similarly to AoT are Death Note, Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The latter two especially makes you feel for the villains like AoT does. Naruto especially has the best character writing ever, like there is not a single character who isn't amazingly written, rich, multidimensional and relatable, including all the villains, and it has a gigantic cast of characters. From the first act onwards it makes you weep for the villains just as much as it makes you cheer for the heroes.

Ace

If we're talking about potential shows that will replace Attack on Titan once you are done with it, I would like to vouch for Vinland Saga. It's a beautifully written series, and its second season just started airing aswell.

Anonymous

I think Vinland Saga is similar in quality.

Anonymous

Made in Abyss also has amazing world building.

B

Best well written anime of all time in my opinion is FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood. There are so many different factions of characters with depth to them and being well written with amazing character development. It's in competition with AoT for me of best anime of all time. I guarantee you would thoroughly enjoy it.

Baron Von Aarth

It's all about perspective brotha!

Yessi

I would like to say its more like a steralisation plan rather then eutanization, the current translation makes it sound evil, rather than peaceful

AngelGxbriel

code geass or vinland saga

Anonymous

I would say Vinland Saga is a very good sereis for when you are done with Attack on Titan.

Adam Saunders

For anime as well written as AoT, My only suggestions are death note or full metal alchemist brotherhood. the latter of the two had my crying for heroes and villains alike

Daniel Griffiths

well written huh.... honestly its quite hard to compare to AOT in general.. but in terms of writing... 'vinland saga' done extremely well with its characters and plot... 'mushoku tensei' is another beautiful world with some deep messaging beneath it all and the magic system is flawless... im drawing a blank here lol... 'one piece' is amazingly written but suffers from pacing... its really hard to pick out essentially perfect shows... oh how could i forget '86' is another with excellent writing. ill have to have a think without being bias towards my favorites lol

Kenzie Marie

New intro next episode!! Hope you watch it!

Lex

Marley needs titan powers to dominant the world, they won't agree zekes plan.

Yessi

They didn't touch back then, because they have no clue how excatly the founding powers work, doing it on the island is a much more safer place to do it, not only that, but as the hizuru lady/zeke pointed out couple episodes ago. They first need to use a demo rumbling. This would purely be to deter an attack for as long as possible.

Allen Martinez

I completely agree with this. For world building, character development, incredible action sequences, and just overall brilliant writing/storytelling, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is the one anime that I would rank up there with Attack on Titan and I would recommend it to anyone.

TOMfoolery

I think the Marleyan government would hate Zekes plan. Yes they hate Eldians but they need the titans to stay the strongest military nation in the world.

Eliana

I agree with some people there. Other than AoT, the series with the best plots and twists is definitively Fullmetal Alchemist. On the character depth side if things, I think Mob Psycho 100 is the one that takes the prize. It just had its finale and the art is insanely good, so I'd say it's very worth the watch too

Juan Jose Espinoza Marce

For anime as well written as AoT, I suggest FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Vinland Saga, Monster, Banana Fish and DeathNote

UserNameNotTaken

Speaking of well-written anime - "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood", "Code Geass", "Cowboy Bebop" and Monogatari Series

owotist

Definitely vinland saga, it is straight up 10/10 and I also love death note, it's just a classic and it is one for a reason

Rich

Good reaction!

alex averbuh

Mr Ksaver - Ksaver son, Son is an enderement term in japaniese (son, kun, sama, dono, etc)

Angelo Marchantt

Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Code Geass and Death note are what I would define as top tier written anime, all of those I personally think are better than AOT, AOT is great but with so many plotholes and discarted story lines is kinda way to inconsistent for my taste (still top 10 for sure). But you couldn't ever go wrong with any of those 3 (unless you somehow end up watching the dub, that kills the whole anime)

V

I feel like Death Note or even Banana Fish would be some other really nicely written animes that you’d enjoy watching

PKS

In Japanese to give respect while calling another person, you will hear 'San' after their name. So what you heard the pronunciation for Mr ksaver by Zeke is like K'saaver San, even Hanze was called Hanze San before she was commander.

ACHILIES YT

My name is eren jeager😂😂

Jabin (Aelic)

In terms of anime, I'd say Hunter X Hunter comes fairly close to AOT in writing, but in terms of manga, Berserk is even better than AOT imo

Anonymous

In terms of well written anime It's hard to say. But death Note Is one that gets into the action very quickly. Jojo's Bizarre adventures is amazing, but Season 1 and 2 are extremely different from 3 and onwards. Some People like 1 and 2, but I personally really prefered 3+. It's like the creator absolutely did a 180 and It worked amazingly. Haven't watched Code Geass fully, But that's another that get's straight into it.

Antonio Perez

Full metal alchemist : Brotherhood.

dg_2drunk

In terms of writing there is stuff like Vinland Saga, Madoka, Violet Evergarden, the Monogatari series and a couple more that stick out. Sadly those aren't that popular with the average anime crowd. They prefer shounen and battle anime which form that stereotypical weeb image everyone has of this medium.

Gavin Wong

hands down steines gate the most well written anime ever.

Obscuremango

The only other anime that I consider to have better writing than this is Mushoku tensei, the level of writing and foreshadowing is amazing. It's unbelievably beautiful but yes there's bits that's uncomfortable but that's what it's meant to feel, it's a story about having a second chance, to be a better person, Ye everyone in that world is used to scum and the laws are loose about it. S2 will be way better than s1 and oh boy will it show you the better side of Rudi

Adrian Kaźmierczak

Well written anime: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Madoka Magica (some parts) My Hero Academia Made in Abyss Stein;s Gate

Frigid Pharaoh

The writing of One piece is 🤌🏻

Anonymous

When One piece went on a break, I decided to read the manga and I do have to say that in my opinion One Piece is one of, if not the best, written stories so far. And it's still continuing too!

dragonguard666

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Death Note are both really well written. Get you invested in plenty of characters.

Frigid Pharaoh

season 1 episode 12 of Tokyo Ghoul (eng dub especially) transcends even AOTs writing. Can’t wait for that eventual reaction!

wildhunt1973

Nah, Zeke is still evil. Well-written anime? Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Overlord. Cowboy Bebop. Vision of Escaflowne. Dr. Stone. The Rising of the Shield Hero (still being made). Samurai 7. SPY X FAMILY. ya boy KONGMING.

Chmuurkaa

I can't believe it's been already a month since I'm here on Patreon. Best $1 (now 2) ever spent

dg_2drunk

It's certainly not for anime beginners that's true. But the writing is probably the best out of those.

Stoke me a clipper

Trying to explain (without spoilers, natch) why the Super Yeagero Bros. didn't touch on their first meeting is surprisingly complex but completely logical. To try to put it simply, if while behind enemy lines with no immediate support they prevented all Eldians from bearing children at that point in time, Marley still hates Eldians, and Marley still wants the Paradis resources. So the united continent of Marley would still declare war and launch an overwhelming offensive with their military and naval might against Paradis. Instead, Zeke and Eren's stated plan involves destroying the Marley military and navy, giving Historia time to bear children with Royal blood, and passing down the Beast and Attack titans so they can wield the threat of the Rumbling until all remaining Eldians have lived out peaceful lives and died of old age.

Tudor Turtu

he asked about anime as well written as AOT, so Naruto ,spy x family and the rising of the shield hero are not that well written.

Tudor Turtu

An anime that could be comparable to AOT for the story could be Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Ron Farmer

I think it's a crime that you have not seen Demon Slayer yet. In terms of quality you're not gonna get much better and the story is deep, moving and funny. Not to mention the Lisa songs that you love, you'll finally have context for them and deepen their meaning. S3 is soon too ☺️

JonasK19

yes the big point being a demo rumbling, because obviously the island would still be considered devils by the rest of the world and they need to stop the world from destroying the island for no reason.

wildhunt1973

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You may not like them, and that's fine. I do think Naruto is very well written, especially since I'm rewatching it for the fourth time right now. I actually like the writing and storylines in most of these series more than Attack on Titan.

Yessi

Well.. Considering past eldian empire, there's quite a lot of really good reasons to attack the island tho... Their ancestors were true devil's who did horrible things.

Anonymous

Demon Slayer without its animation is just another decent shounen anime, i dont know where you got that it has a deep story like aot and ive read the manga @Ron

cheera

The story really isn't that deep. It's good, but it's nothing super special in terms of stuff that's been released over the years.

Nathan S.

Well written animes I can think of that are close to this level of plots and cohesiveness: - Monster (2004 - Crime fiction, Mystery, Psychological thriller, non-fantasy) 74ep - Death Note (2006 - Mystery, Psychological thriller) 37ep - Steins;Gate (2011 - Drama, Science fiction, Comedy, Psychological thriller) 24ep

Dethrox

Demon Slayer when ?? :D i dont care how many replies i get saying its mid.. its 100% recommend from me 👍 im sure you will going to love it.. :D dont let others deceive you.. i mean.. it may looks like im deceiving you too but you can always try and draw your own picture :) from few episodes

Johnny

LMFAO!!! I never thought of that. Why didn't they just make contact right there. Major plot hole lol.

Florian M

Watched about 400 anime and I must say: there are anime out there with very good story, but AOT is still the anime with the best plot and best written story. By far.

IntoVoid

But not that complex i think. It is well written though

IntoVoid

It is not as complex as aot though. But still really good

LuciusArtoriusCastus

I agree the plot is not as complex and filled with plot twists as AOT, but the characters in Vinland saga are more developed in my opinion.

IntoVoid

Mirai Nikki is kinda complex

IntoVoid

Steins Gate is the most complex one, but it is hard to get into it.

IntoVoid

Overlord does have a complex story line (especially when reading the manga)

Wuschel

You also have to have way more resistance to typical anime cringe for Steins;Gate (or however it is written). Or just like anime cringe.

itaral

I think vinland saga is written very well though it's 2nd season jsut started realeasing so there's still a lot of content from manga to adapt and i'm saying it's well written based on the manga. Other well written anime that's maybe as good as attack on titan is monster. When it comes to well written animes i have to mention monogatari series even though it's very unique and may repel many people. Honorable mentions are hunter x hunter and full metal alchemist brotherhood.

Dethrox

i doubt there isnt any reason for that.. :D must be..

Flippnote

Steins; Gate is extremely well written and has a very deep plot with complex characters. Certainly one you’d love if you like mysteries unfolding throughout the show like AOT does.

Flippnote

I wouldn’t say so. Some people just don’t have attention spans

Paqi

Zeke's plan, that we've already seen described at this point in the show, is to do a small scale rumbling that'll wipe out Marley, which will dissuade the world from attacking the island for a while. Zeke told Paradis that this would buy them time to build a military, but this suggests another reason why he wants to buy the island time

Johnny

Makes more sense when you put it that way but still can't help but wonder why not do it right then and there.

Paqi

Why they haven't touched: Zeke's plan, that we've already seen described, is to use a small scale rumbling to destroy Marley, which will dissuade attacks against the island until the world's technology advances enough to counter the rumbling. Zeke told the Paradis government that this will buy them time to build a military, but now this suggests what he really wants to buy time for

svetlina

death note goes crazy you'd love it

Matthew Valentine

Vinland Saga and Deathnote are the only other animes besides AoT I've rewatched purely because the writing blew me away. VS is a seinen series instead of a shonen so it doesnt have ODM gear, flying sequences, etc and is generally more realistic/grounded but the character arc for Thorfinn in that show is unreal. Some of the best emotional content and performances I've seen besides AoT. Deathnote I feel like could be a good substitute for AoT just because it is more fantastical and otherwordly-type fantasy but both are incredible and its more about what type of story you want to watch as a viewer.

Asher Adams

it is mr ksaver, but in japanase its like ksava-san

Arctic

Re;zero and Steins;gate I would consider Aot levels of writing. Theres lots of details that fit together and develop characters in different ways. Really good shows

Matthew Valentine

Zeke and Eren did not trust each other at all at that point and didn't know what would happen. Them talking and meeting in Marley wasn't an alliance it was like a temporary ceasefire to find out each others motivations.

Anonymous

He’s saying Ksaver-san. In Japanese, -san is added as an honor term to a person’s name as a show of respect to someone of equal stature. Basically he’s saying Mr. Ksaver. You would add -sama to a person’s last name if they were of a higher social standing to you. Ksaver-sama would be the term used by another Eldian who was not friendly or familiar with Ksaver due to his standing as an honorary Marleyan/Warrior. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_honorifics

brad marsh

the answer to you question is Code Geas, 86, Charlotte those come to mind.

Zandorgard

The only other Anime i think that has this level of awesome storytelling and a plot so perfectly linked together, is One Piece.

KeanuofRivia

I've probably watched around the same amount as you have, and I also struggle to find something that compares. There are plenty of anime that are on about the same level as season 1 and 2, but season 3 onward is really in a league of its own.

Finito

For shows as good if not better than Aot I'd recommend death note and code geass.

Thamor

Re:Zero and 86 would give you good AOT level of story telling.

Florian Konnerth

Monster (a bit older), Neon Genesis Evangelion, Steins Gate, FMA:Brotherhood, Madoka Magica, A Certain Magical Index / A Certain Scientific Railgun, Death note are some well written storys

Anonymous

maybe but it takes too long to catch up everything. Naruto, Bleach and Onepice are so good but not for the newbies.

Daniel Musgrave

RE: Zero, Overlord, Mob Psycho 100, and Parasyte are all extremely well written stories

Kevin Baker

I second Re:Zero and 86.

Eliana

I just remembered Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I'd love to see Luke reacting to this

James Palmer

Attack on Titan is a masterpiece and while there's a lot of good stories in anime, there are few that reach the same kind of peaks as this. If you're looking for very good writing, check out Vinland Saga.

Madara_Uchiha_2022

Death Note for example is an excellent choice for amazing plot twists and perfect Dub VA as well as OSTs

Madara_Uchiha_2022

Euthanazation is the word that was used in the manga so I see no reason why the anime should word it differently

Madara_Uchiha_2022

Facts. Fmab is just so mid. I’ve rated it as a 1 on Anilist and MAL🤣 shame I can’t use 0/10

James Palmer

As for why they didn't just make contact right then and there, well technically they could have but remember that they're right in the middle of Marley territory... is the process of changing the physiology of all Eldians instantaneous? We don't know the details of how it's done but if there is any kind of complication then they're not exactly in a safe location. Makes more sense to get Zeke to the island and do it there, though of course the way things have played out the island wasn't safe any more either.

Maxine

Kingdom is definitely up there in story telling. Probably one of my favorite Anime/manga of all time and its still ongoing at almost 750 chapters and 4 seasons.

Antoine Jones

attack on titan is well written but definitely not the best (so that says a lot about other anime). Fullmetal Alchemist (both of them) are better than Attack on Titan. Death Note and Code Geass also come pretty damn close

Antoine Jones

lmao the story is in generic and chiche as hell... the art style and animation is what makes that worth watching... Its story is about as deep as DragonBall lol. And just like Dragonball we watch that for the flash fights... not the plot or character development lol (spoiler... because there is none lol)

Antoine Jones

lmao no.... is Demon Slayer entertaining? Hell yes... but he didnt ask for the most entertaining show.. he asked for shows with writing as deep/comparable to AoT.... and Demon Slayer is nowhere close... unless youre gonna call Dragpnball or Bleach (which are ALSO entertaining shows) close too?

Antoine Jones

Also I wouldnt say Zeke is "crazy". He doesnt want to wipe out Eldians... that is the ones that currently exist wont be touched. He just wants to make it so that no more can be made... so once all the current Eldians die naturally... there wont be any more and thus titans are gone. If I was Eldian and someone told me I and my race had the power to turn into "monsters" that eat people and could destory the world and they wanted to remove my ability to have kids so that titans would eventually go extinct, Id be ok with that. Soooo I get to live out the rest of my life like normal and the trade off is I can never have children? Im not seeing a downside here...

Lex

There is no such thing on the same level like AOT, but code geass and made in abyss are way above average too, especially code geass created some classic script and had a huge impact in all anime.

Koga Wolfe

Now I haven't watched anything further than this myself, watching Season 4 for the first time, but a thought did occur to me after this episode. As long as Historia or any child she bears is alive they could potentially reverse the "euthanization". They would just need someone else to inherit the founding titan and Historia's bloodline any other titan, though would likely need the memories of the beast titan to know what to do.

CameraIsMe

I disagree. Death note is great at the start but ends up being a big mess by the end, FMA(original) isn’t really all that and while brotherhood and code geass are amazing, I still think AOT is better.

Anonymous

The idea of euthanizing a race due to the potential for 9 individuals out of the entire race to turn into monsters is patently RIDICULOUS! It's such an easy fix. Set up pits for those titans that they cannot escape from. Something different for the War Hammer titan of course, but essentially create a trap and then send your worst criminals who would be executed for their crimes to become that generation of titan and have them stuck for their "term" until a next generation of terrible criminals appears. This allows an ENTIRE race to live in peace and they don't even need to know about that "special" death penalty. To kill off all those people makes Eren and Zeke EVIL to the greatest extent. This is the definition of a Nihilistic worldview where you no longer look for solutions but decide no solution is good enough so let's all die. Ridiculous.

Anonymous

how about trapping Titans in a pit/trap they cannot escape from and making 9 terrible criminals face the death penalty by becoming titans and being stuck. No need to euthanize an ENTIRE race just because 9 people will become monsters. If Marley can control the inheritance process so could any country and there's always 9 criminals deserving of the hell of being stuck for 13 years unable to do anything before being eaten in turn. Doesn't that sound like a more reasonable decision than decide to have no more children, no future for your race?

Antoine Jones

One small problem with that plan... anyone whos locked up could and most likely WOULD escape EVENTUALLY... so yeah.. thats a solution. Until it's not. The euthanization plan eliminates the problem completely with zero chance of it eventually becoming a problem later

Cassii

That is an awful idea not only would be near impossible to implement there’s an incredible amount of ways that could blow up in the face of those who made it

Anonymous

I agree it is possible it fails but for the first thought to be let kill off a race...it's a little extreme yeah? There are plenty of ways to "neuter" the titan problem. The bigger issue is that world powers wouldn't want to suppress it, they want to use it like AOT demonstrates. But I still see demolishing a race as pure evil, and a nihilistic choice by two broken people. The idea we try to debate if it's evil or not is crazy. Even if the solution I came up with in 20 seconds isn't great there are better options to pursue.

Addstir

Honestly, I'm pretty sure these comments aren't read for the spoiler factor, but if they are: Fullmetal Alchemist (or Brotherhood) are up there in terms of being well-written. Steins; Gate for sci-fi (far less action-packed but it's maintained a top 2 anime spot for like 12 years, it's only in 3rd now due to Bleach's new season being new, which will likely fall in rating as the show progresses. The last 2 recommendations I'll give are Made In Abyss, there are a lot of depth and intense themes in that show, starts off far more light-hearted than AoT, but quickly ramps up and becomes insanely good (won anime of the year 2017). The last recommendation is Re Zero, the main character in my honest opinion as a man who has seen over 500 anime, is the most well-written and most developed character from start to end, of ANY anime, BY FAR. It also likely coincides with Attack on Titan the most with the dark tones, a close 2nd being Made in Abyss.

Russell Gambardella

It is quite the task to stack up to AOT in terms of writing and storytelling. If I had to pick one to recommend, it would be Steins; Gate and its sequel Steins; Gate 0. While they are both undoubtedly unique, Steins; Gate shares some elements with AOT that I know you enjoy from watching your reactions. Like AOT, it has a mysterious atmosphere in which you're constantly getting little pieces of the puzzle; this makes it engaging, thought provoking, and builds tension in a masterful way. There are other similarities, but I'll (hopefully) let you discover them! It also helps that it would make for good reactions, as not all well-written stories translate into entertaining reactions.

Ravagerr

Death Note is very well written, it hooks you in after just the first episode. Highly recommend it

10redturtles -

I think Vinland Saga is up there with Attack on Titan

Antonio Perez

I like Demon Slayer but Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is overall better. And is already finished also. And hi Madara, your personal taste for anime does not matter, FMAB it is rated very high if not the highest like AOT on most of the rankings so..

Travis

for anime as well written as aot, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is the golden pig. also it probably wont come up too many more times but Mr. Ksaver is pronounced "sav-uh" in case you were wondering.

Mooboy2000

As I pause at 7:44...FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The original was okay, but a huge mess, if you ever watch it, make sure it's AFTER you watch Brotherhood which actually follows the manga. I love a lot of different anime, but I don't think an anime has affected me emotionally as much as FMA:Brotherhood.

Kevin Vang

"Ksaver-san" is translated in english to "Mr. Ksaver".

rac coun

Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood come to mind, when I think about best writing.

Mark Andujar

As far as well written, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is on the top of my list. Story is well told, all the characters are incredibly interesting, and the pacing is amazing. 60ish episodes I total so it also doesn’t feel like it overstays it’s welcome at any point in time.

Diffy

Attack on Titan definitely has a charm of its own, but I would say Code Geass, Death Note, Hunter x Hunter, Monster, Steins;gate, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Violet Evergarden, and Your Lie in April.

Elia Fernandes

The "San" at the end of Ksaver's name is an honorofic. San, Sama are honorofics used towards people who are higher in rank/hierarchy/Age than the person addressing them. Eren, for example uses Ni-Chan with Zeke which is the more informal way to address a brother. Ni-San would be the formal way. Ne-Chan, Ne-San for sister...

Markus

Season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul was pretty good, but transcends AOT's writing? In what way?

Kenneth Maliwat

It's the Helos plan all over again. Marley needs Eldia as an enemy to unite the world behind them. Otherwise the other nations would rise up against them. So they would never agree to let Eldia die a quiet death.

Jessica Nicastro

Nothing compares to AoT. But Demon Slayer is absolutely stunning and the writing is incredible. Be sure to have tissues nearby. If you like high stakes, Vinland Saga is your show ❤️

Astral

Code Geass is the best in my opinion.

Some0neElse

You see, Zeke's plan is just as bad for Marley as it is for Eldians. The intire military of Marley up to this point is based around the titans the carefully indoctrinated eldian warriors and the titans they control. So euthanizing eldians would mean in hundred years Marley will fall. Maybe even sooner

Martin Vaclavik

I love "I don't know who to root for..." Welcome to the late game, it only gets more conflicting :D

Tekbox

for well written anime the thing I think of first is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Hayden Steele

its "K-sav-er" the "san" is an honourific

Tekbox

They probably didn't touch there most likely because Zeke can't just trust Eren from him just agreeing as he can't be sure if he's lying so he wants to wait as long as possible so that he can observe Eren to get at least a little more confidence in him really being on his side.

Dethrox

nope.. havent watch those 2 :D but still think he should watch DS.. it doesnt need to be deep :/ like Slime anime isnt that deep either :D

Rinzzler

Marley loves controlling titans its part of their military might and keeps actual marleyeans away from fighting. They wouldn't go along with Zeke's plan as it ends up crippling their nation in the long run. As for why they didn't touch, the island was still in danger, Zeke wants the eldians to live in relative peace just unable to reproduce. So their plan was to cripple marley militarily then euthanize eldians. Giving them a "Paradise" as they all grow old and die.

Kim Løvenholdt

Death Note is definately as well written as Attack on Titan!

Tye Charlie Naylor

Attack on Titan in my opinion is a one of a kind anime! But for a Similarly well written anime I would recommend 86 or Steins Gate

Hibou Owll

When Zeke names the man he plays with, I think he say Ksavar-san. San is one of the MANY titles Japanese have when referring to someone.

Narwhalw7

Castlevania, Berserk, Hunter x Hunter

OneFelPiece

Oh no, I've been watching like 4 of these a day and now I'm caught up 😅

Daniel Golas

Code geass has great story, Full metal alchemis brotherhood is incredibly well written. Re: zero is also really well written, but not enough seasons are out for us to be able to see the bigger picture yet.

Diffy

Honestly I've only ever heard bad things about the Berserk anime adaption.

Shengbo Jia

91 days in my opinion is a really well written show and reasonably short with only 12 ep. Another one would be Vinland saga which is slightly longer but I would place the writing about on par with Attack on Titan and finally, a personal favourite of mine, is Mushoku Tesei which is a bit derisive in the anime community as the main character is a bit of a sexual deviant, however, the main theme of the show is second chances and redemption which I think is really well written. And on the topic of this video and why Marley wouldn't support Zeke's plan, do recall that Marley at the moment is heavily reliant on Eldians for military power. so the irony is that although Marleyians supposedly detest Eldians , their existence and power is thanks in part of Eldians. I always thought this point to be pretty funny.

Lloyd

I fully disagree. Aot is by far the goat of anime. Maybe not everybodys favorite but story, characters, visuals and soundtrack are all in S tier. Which almost if any other show has accomplished. Full metal alchemist (both) are VERY good and super nostalgic but def not "The" goat".

Antoine Jones

You know S tier isn't exclusive to ONE show right? AoT is definitely S tier but so is FMA and it's slightly above it. The best thing about AoT is the mysteries and getting questions answered. FMA had that PLUS better characters and more emotional moments. I could easily name 10 in FMA Brotherhood alone. Not counting the original.. AoT has what... 2? Maybe 3 if you really cared about Eren's mom (I really didn't as she didn't get enough screentime to be fleshed out before that happened)

Hugo

Fullmetal alchemist is easily one of the best well written shows together with attack on titan!

Anonymous

Castlevania was excellent for the first season, then each season got progressively worse for me.

StrayRonin

Death note is really awesome, so is full metal alchemist brother hood

Erik Fernandez

Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter and 86 are also well written shows

Iris

Fuul Metal Alchemy Brotherhood is also a well-written anime.

Avaren

Eighty Six ( 86 )

Andrew Lindsey

Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

brad marsh

oh you need to watch the most recent adaptation "The memorial edition of the golden Arc" its very well done

Sean

Well the manga used the wrong word then

ChaosDragon

Here's 3 other shows that are also masterfully written Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Death Note Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Christopher Thomas

Season 1 of Death Note is one of the most masterfully written animes of all time

Anonymous

hunterXHunter, full metal alchemist brotherhood or Bezerk 1997( but may be to dark for yt)

Luke! just so you know, when people are pronouncing names in the show, there are honorifics added to the end of the name, such as ksaver-san, or jaegar-sensei. sensei and san are not part of their names, and it sounds a bit strange for a non-japanese man to add the honorific to the persons name when you do not have the same relationship with the character as the person pronouncing the name. For Ksaver, I would just say "kuh-sah-ver", and leave out the honorific of "san". Just like for eren, you wouldn't say "eren-kun", or "eren-san".

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was always my favorite with only AoT contesting that title. Death Note is also very well written (though I think AoT still beats both in terms of writing though)

Richard Wheeler

his name is pronounced "Kuh-sahver-san" san meaning "Mr." or just a general term of respect!

Another anime I think you’ll really find just as compelling is Monster. Very well written as well like AoT

I'm anticipating many things made about AOT after the final season is done. Maybe even a book. This story has so many important things to say in such a skilled way that it needs to be analyzed and discussed at length.

I've actually seen some people make criticism of the Final Season in regards to not having someone to root for. I've heard arguments that go by "you cannot attach to anyone, because their intentions aren't clear or are of questionably moral". To that I respond: That's the point, long gone are the days where it was as simple as "good guys" vs "bad guys"/Titans. Everyone has their reasons, no one is a saint nor a complete villain, it is realistic, in that sense, and this is why it is so good to see it play out.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is great. I really think you’ll like it. It’s somewhat less dark than AoT, but it’s still pretty Dark.

ur talking about eugenics, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, king, please reevaluate whatever ethical position that got u to think those are justifiable

River

his plan is ethnic cleansing, its exactly the Marleyans plan, genocide, it is technically better bc his genocide kills less ppl, but its still genocide

River

the bad guys are everyone who advocated for ethnic cleansing, which tbh doesn't leave us with many options

Antoine Jones

If you have a way to make sure titans go away without doing that, I'm listening

Yessi

Still the better plan compared to all other options

You've probably realized this by now since you've watched more anime at this point, but Anime does not always use the traditional black and white good vs evil tropes that western television does. It delves into nuance, and grey areas, which are much closer to the real world than heros vs villians. AOT does this spectacularly well. So, no, Zeke is not evil. He's never been evil. He has done evil things. But so has Eren, and many other characters who we've been led to believe are "good". There are no good guys and bad guys in AOT. There's just people, intergenerational trauma, and horrible circumstances that mirror our own world.

You should give Hunter x Hunter a try. Just searched and you've already reacted to the endings hahah. AoT and HxH are both on my absolute favourites list, but in wildly different ways. AoT gives you a perfectly fitted jigsaw puzzle, while HxH builds a world on a canvas and takes you on a journey on the world, with just so much under the surface. Both masterpieces, so far, no other anime has come close (FOR ME)

I think One Piece is a really well written story, only problem is it’s length, if it wasn’t for the enormous length, I think more and more people would consider seeing or read it
