As someone who's spent quite a bit of time in the recording studio, there needs to be a decent amount of dead air at the start and end of a punch-in so the sound engineer has clean beginnings and endings of the tracks they are working with. A bunch of chatter and extraneous noise is bound to make things harder in the mixing and editing process after building up the raw audio tracks, even though in the context of a "live" performance it can feel kind of awkward and a little nerve-wracking.

From what I have seen behind the camera is a big public and when the artist just stand there after the performance is probably waiting out the applaus from the public. There is a ReoNa first take where they show everything and everyone. I think it’s called Life is beautiful.
