THERE IS NO WAY ARMIN IS GONE??? IT CAN'T BE! AND ERWIN!!!!

Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to Attack On Titan Season 3 Episode 17

Comments

ˑ༄ؘ ۪۪۫۫ ▹anna◃ ۪۪۫۫ ༄ؘ ˑ

I'm so glad I'm feeling emotionally detached rn because otherwise I'd be in so much pain, hysterically crying. It feels weird to watch scenes like that without the pain, but it sure saves me sometimes. We just lost both brains, Armin and Erwin, this is going to get so bad (meaning everything is about to go down, not like bad writing or anything)

KeterLordFR

One of the most important things about this episode, in my opinion, is that it carries the same message that Erwin has repeated since the first season : to defeat monsters, you must be ready to lose your humanity. And to defeat your enemies, you must be ready to lose your life. Both plans required a sacrifice, because the only way to defeat enemies as confident as them was to make them believe that they had won. And it was obvious that they'd be confident since they have the power of the Titans, which they see as the power of gods. As Erwin also said in the last episode,

Dominic

The time has come

Bryan Wells

Oof the spoilery title 😣

Antoine Jones

im sure everyone whos watching this reaction has seen this already (otherwise why are you watching a reaction when you should be watching the actual show itself?) and the reactor posted the title meaning hes already seen it sooooo whos being spoiled exactly?

Johnny

The sole survivor who you asked who he was. He was that guy acting cocky to Jean and the others before the operation. Then I'm the previous episode he was the one crying saying how all of this is meaningless. I'd say pay more attention to him.

Bryan Wells

Overlord is the only one I can think of that comes close. Haven't seen enough of full metal to know, I've watched like 50 episodes and it's not as epic

Antoine Jones

yes attack on titan is gonna spoil you for all anime ever. thats a high bar you set for yourself.... only thing that matches and exceed it is fullmetal alchemist (both of them) anything else is FAR worse including Overlord. Is Overlord entertaining and do i like it? Yes. But if your expecting attack on titan levels of writing and story youre gonna be extremely DISAPPOINTED.

Tyler Rimmel

This episode was voted by anime fans as the best single episode out of any series ever. Hero is litteraly 10/10

Lex

The ost ShingekiNoKyojin is just perfect, I always have tears when listening.

Szayel H

I kinda agree on the Overlord part BUT there are al lot of anime that are just as good or better that AOT and Vinland Saga is a example

Cloe T.

Annnnnnd I'm crying

Kevin Zebroski

I took that comment to be about the episode title “Hero” - that kind of thing just screams bad news in AOT.

PKS

Watch Demon Slayer first. The intensity of story is high along with action. There are some cartoony bits, but thats just relaxation from main stuff. And its short. Then you can go for FMAB

Antoine Jones

Ok Ive heard Vinland Saga is definitely a competitor, and from what Ive seen I believe it, but I havenot actually watched that one myself so I cant say for sure until I do

Antoine Jones

Ok Robin if im off my rocker name 20 anime thats are as good or better that AoT.... I mean there are are thousands so 20 shoiuldnt be difficult.. Ill wait

krai

LOVED THIS

Dethrox

Hmm.. i dunno.. as much as i like Overlord.. i dont think it would leave such an awe as Attack on Titan.. :/ if you are looking for something similar i would say Demon Slayer is your choice.. oooh noo all the comments saying its so mid or over rated.. dont watch that one.. shut up.. i love it okay ?? and i stand for it.. :D

Toast Ghost

I did say in the YT comments at the start of this season that you're not ready!

AngelGxbriel

There is no way this man did not cry at the next episode

Benjamin Siimes

'Hero' is one of the greatest episodes of the television medium. Not just anime, but ALL shows. Every second of the episode is just perfect

Benjamin Siimes

Idk why everyone always tears down Demon Slayer so much. Anime elitists are some shit human beings xD

Reaper_Zwei

Neon genesis evangelion, Cowboy bebop, Made in abyss, Re Zero, Death note, Code geass, Death parade, Now and then here and there, Guilty crown, A few of the Gundam series, just to name a few. Now to be fair you probably wont agree with this list but it is subjective....

Gentle_Smackdown

Re:zero!! cause i already seen too many reaction vids of Demon slayer and such haha and well Re:zero can hit the feel train pretty good and the WTF moments

Arctic

I'd say for, wow factor Made in Abyss or Re:zero would be good or maybie even Steins;gate.

wildhunt1973

*puts my hand on your shoulder* It's okay, Luke, this episode broke EVERYONE. It almost broke me again in the rewatch, and I've seen this episode four times. I know you've seen the outcome by now.

JJ SPILLER05

am I the only one who thinks overlord would be a terrible choice?? I think if I had to choose between the two, FMAB IS MUCH BETTER! Bro these isekai goons better not ruin anime for this man

Antoine Jones

Evangelion sure. Cowboy Bebop is great for other reasons not its story lol. Made in Abyss, is boring as hell no, same for Re Zero, Death Note is close for sure but the second half ruins it. I'd put it right UNDER attack on titan but not next to or above it. Now YES I would say Code Geass is just as good but the rest of the world seems to disagree/would laugh at me. As for Now and then and Guilty Crown you're joking right? Gundam 00 and the first part of Iron Blood Orphans (not the second season) are definitely up there the rest of Gundam is trash

JJ SPILLER05

id much rather see him react to demon slayer, but honestly id prefer fmab

JJ SPILLER05

how funny would it be to see him react to jojos for his second

Whatever you do, don't go for Overlord or any other isekai (isekai is an anime sub genre where the main character is transported generally from the real world to a fantastical world, usually fantasy and could be very video gamey) next... they can be fun shows, but I would never recommend them for someone who hasn't seen a lot of the greats in anime yet. It could easily turn you off. Some are better than others, but really none of them are anything special, and they damn sure won't measure up to AoT by even a fraction. Demon Slayer could be a good next choice, but personally I would recommend something like Death Note or Code Geass. Perhaps Jujutsu Kaisen.

Luis Sanchez

Yeah, I also cried when I watched that episode 🥲

Lewis Coupe

I think people shit on DS because it's popular the writings not on the same level as AOT for me but the actions incredible calling it mid is just incorrect

Thomas Juino

Totaly agree, Jujutsu Kaisen or Demon Slayer are way more adapted for newcomers in the anime world <3

Thomas Juino

I recommend Jujutsu Kaisen or Demon Slayer next, I'm not a big fan of Overlord, but even that put aside, it's not a serious anime and it belongs to a particular genre that i doesn't recommend just after Attack on Titan Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer are anime that have a intense and intriguing story, beautiful animation and soundstracks <3

Eliana

I agree with other people here, Overlord is entertaining, but there's not much deep emotion in it. Meanwhile, Demon Slayer has enough epicness so you won't feel downplayed after watching AoT. Other than that, Chainsawman seems great, but you'll catch up really fast if you react 3x a week since it's an ongoing series. Re:Zero has a ton of grit and emotional moments, so it's also a great option.

Queen - The Show Must Go On Empty spaces, what are we living for? Abandoned places, I guess we know the score, on and on Does anybody know what we are looking for? Another hero, another mindless crime Behind the curtain, in the pantomime Hold the line Does anybody want to take it anymore? The show must go on The show must go on, yeah Inside my heart is breaking My makeup may be flaking But my smile, still, stays on Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance Another heartache, another failed romance, on and on Does anybody know what we are living for? I guess I'm learning I must be warmer now I'll soon be turning, round the corner now Outside the dawn is breaking But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free The show must go on The show must go on Inside my heart is breaking My makeup may be flaking But my smile, still, stays on My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies Fairy tales of yesterday, grow but never die I can fly, my friends The show must go on The show must go on I'll face it with a grin I'm never giving in On with the show I'll top the bill I'll overkill I have to find the will to carry on On with the show Show Show must go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on

Nick

I'm really hoping he watches Mob Psycho 100 one day even though it's a lot less gritty and more goofy I mean it's a phenomenal show (I also second chainsaw man and Re:Zero though)

JJyy

Imo FMAB is comparable to AOT. DS is popular mainly because of its great visuals and music, story-wise it is a bit straightforward. I think Fate stay night + Fate Zero would suit this man as I love to see his face of confusion :) but to be fair Fate SN/ Fate Zero/ Fate HF has a lot to offer if you can connect all the dots to see what the story actually tells. Edit 1: Oh well, actually let me rank Fate series the 1st for you and FMAB 2nd. Good day. Edit 2: Fate series have the best AIMER songs :)

Thamor

Re:Zero is for him the best choice as I feel he enjoys the psychological aspects in the show even if he doesn't comment about it that much.

Thamor

BTW, now you can react to opening intro after this episode. As there is no real spoilers for rest of the episodes. Full Metal Alchemist no where even close to AOT. Just check Re:Zero, Overlord or Mushoku Tensei or 86. But as you have declared you will go with vote system then some will just vote for you like Naruto.

Anonymous

I'll respond to a comment about Re:Zero even though I'm not seeing it now for some reason. I do agree that Re:Zero is one of the better isekai, but it's still nothing special compared to the true greats. That is my personal opinion. Something about all the isekai shows just feels like a big parody and I can't compare that to stuff like Death Note, Jujutsu Kaisen, Code Geass, Attack on Titan, etc.

Justin Bernstein

Great one here, man. It has been a pleasure watching with you on this journey. It has been a while since I watched these episodes, and I have only scene it dubbed before this, so it's be a fun ride. Take it or leave it -- but my suggestions for another anime (as people already chimed in about) would be Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood or Death Note. Both shorter, super-tight, non-filler classics with strong plot, animation and dialogue with dark themes. I would give the slight edge to FMAB knowing how much you enjoy action/fighting scenes. Runner up would be Parysite the Maxim. Yall in the comments don't hate me but I think Demon Slayer is childish and pretty garbage (minus the top tier animation).

Rinzzler

This is the highest rated episode of attack on titan period, everyone has it at the top for one reason or another, this is peak attack on titan right here. Now we're on watch for a mini 3 episode arc next season.

Gentle_Smackdown

Hey hey, if you take out all the fillers and really follow the naruto main story, it's pretty deep and dark at times as well, it has a bit of everything in it. Just sadly there are too many shit episodes in between the good parts, for that reason alone i would say not to try it, other then doing it in privet time lol

Lloyd

Dear god dude i implore youy to NOT take any anime advice from the comments. You should try some shows out and if anything sticks go ahead and continue with it.

Nrock23

Not true. There is spoilers for next episode in the intro

Anonymous

Just remember - this anime about gray morality in everywhere. Beast titan too :)

Reaper_Zwei

I find it funny that you ask if I'm joking about a couple of the series I listed but at the same time say that the world would laugh at one of your choice's. I did say it was subjective.....

KeanuofRivia

Fantastic reaction as always, I thought you did an excellent job of putting into words how this episode made you feel. And Don't sweat it man we were ALL a bit teary eyed (or more) from this episode.

KeanuofRivia

And for Masterpiece anime to check out Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is up there for sure. I dunno if I'd consider Overlord to be a Masterpiece, don't get me wrong it's Damn GOOD, but not a Masterpiece. Re:Zero is very good in it's first season but it's 2nd season is where it becomes a true Masterpiece. Mushoku Tensei is also damned good but is still in it's infancy so I might wait to watch it until the 2nd season starts and finishes. Also it's a bit odd especially at first. The main character is SUPPOSED to be an unlikable shithead. The story is largely about him getting a 2nd chance to be a better person

Martin Mcfly

Hunter X Hunter is always a good choice for reactions as well, and can definitely be considered up there with the likes of re:zero and Attack on titan.

Himiyo

DS isn't a bad show by any means but it's nothing like AOT in neither story nor awe-f so idk why you'd say it is unless you're just tryna get him to watch it, DS is a lot more of a laid-back kinda show

Toasterfinal5

Same here. If you watch his twitch stream, he said he recorded the next episode. That one did even more mental damage.

Anonymous

The show must go on without some characters. For there deaths. I never said i write those. Chill and have fun :)

Nathan S.

So much death.... this was really hard to watch. Next episode is just as heavy as this one.. the pain is not over yet. It's ok to tear up bother.

Himiyo

I mean seems like you kinda have a little bit of a prejudice against isekai which I kinda understand, there's a lot of isekai trash for sure but most of a more popular ones are pretty good. Try looking at them individually: Overlord and Re:Zero would both be great choices for Luke specifically imo, more story driven and darker, although overlord is very "nerdy"? and lots of characters and massive worldbuilding making it not super beginner friendly. Re:Zero has everything, interesting premise, dark, storytelling, a hook in the first episode, beginner friendly, simple powersystem (Jujutsu Kaisen is good for similar reasons) Something like Tensura would be good for a more chill but engaging experience and introduces him to a new genre (rpg-esque, depthful powersystems,) Mushoku Tensei is outstanding all around but not great for new watchers imo, same with Code Geass I think its a bad idea to just watch "the greats (classics)" first, that's more likely to impact his view on even above average anime.

Anonymous

I honestly feel like it's kind of too late to be worried about starting with anime that is "too good." Attack on Titan is one of the best of the best. He has already said that if the next anime or two doesn't capture him the same way AoT did then he might be done with anime. That's the main reason I suggest the greats. No, I don't really have a bias against isekai, like I said, I think a lot of them are really good shows and I enjoy them. I liked Re:Zero a lot. But they are generally all very tropey and not really serious. I watched season 1 of Overlord a long time ago and don't even care to watch more. So many of them are basically the same story to a degree. When you are starting with "guy in real world gets transported to fantasy world" you are already starting with a lack of creativity. It's also wish fulfillment, since you are often supposed to identify with the main character and imagine if that happened to you. This just isn't serious "masterpiece" level stuff to me or anywhere close to it. Also I disagree, I think Code Geass is a fantastic choice for a first or second anime. It can be more complicated, yes, but I don't think that's a reason to not choose it. I think he is intelligent enough to follow a story that's a little bit more complex, and I'm sure he has seen other shows that are just as if not more complex.

UntitledFlu

ikr overlord is for the sex deprived horny dudes i tried to watch it but it’s just too weird tbh bro 🤦🏽‍♂️

UntitledFlu

bro you’re weird if you think overlord is the only anime that comes close to aot

Antonio Perez

One of the best chapters of one of the best tv shows, i am enjoying your reactions and also watching this amazing show again. It is difficult to match up this but i would bet for fullmetal alchemist brotherhood wich is another of the best tv shows ever.

Mawgy

I'm glad Levi turned up in time to help you through this episode ❤

Narwhalw7

I think we all saw handsome squidward

Mugiwaragirl

That episode man ... One of the best for sure ! What a great show you started with (my second favorite) And people suggesting Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood next are right, that would be a great show to react next !

Maxine

Please react to Kingdom openings

Martin Vaclavik

Unsuprisingly, that last episode and this one have an almost perfect 9.9 score on IMBD... and the next one as well

Dethrox

Hmm.. well let me enlighten you.. :D im not a big AoT fan.. not saying its bad or mid.. its pretty good.. but i like DS alot more :D so obviously it left bigger ''awe'' on me than AoT atleast the movie and second season.. and while those two could come to prefferences.. you cant say Overlord is on the par with them :D

Nepherenia

@Antoine - 100% True. Everyone is just asking for their favorite anime, ignoring thematic similarities to AoT, or GOT's preferences. A lot of the series people keep asking for are good, and I like them, but they're bad suggestions for GOT, especially as a followup to AoT. Also, nice to see a little love for the original FMA. Brotherhood has it beat for overall plot, but original FMA had better art direction, pacing, comedic timing, and character development (for Hughes, especially). I personally would say people should watch FMA 03 through episode 26, then move to episode 14 of Brotherhood, since that's where the stories diverge.

Antoine Jones

Demon Slayers story is nothing special... its art and action is what keeps it engaging

Antoine Jones

exactly and the FMA villain is a lot better than the Brotherhood one in terms of motivations and uniqueness, the one in Brotherhood is a cliche.trope we've seen in a million shows, anime and otherwise, I give them BOTH 10/10 with Brotherhood having the slight edge, Id say theyre both worth watching completely not just the first 26 episodes. Everyone main "complaint" about 03 is "it doesnt follow the manga" ok so? Marvel and DCs movies, animated movies and tv series dont 100% follow the comic story their adapting either (otherwise Infinity Wars wouldve been WWWAAYYYY better), yet based on the money they make all of you are watching and loving those despite them not being like the source material are you not? What about Marvel What If? tv series? thats literally an alternate telling of known marvel stories.... and ppl liked that enough that its getting a season 2 when most Disney+ shows are 1 season one offs, so I say this of FMA 03 as "FMA What If?" and enjoy it if I compared EVERYTHING I watch to their source material theyre ALL trash.... game of thrones (even without the crappy final season) is trash compared to the books, so is the lord of the rings series and movies, harry potter, The Witcher tv series etc etc.. should I keep going? Guess we should ALL stop watching that stuff right? lol Plus theres not a single person out there who saw 03 when it first came out who had never read the manga that didnt think it was perfect in every way (i know I did, I didnt and still havent read the manga, so I had no idea it was different until Brotherhood came out and I saw that solely based on my love of the original, knowing nothing about the manga or how different it was gonna be). So if oure watching 03 w/o bias and have nothing to compare it to (like GOT would be doing if he did) youd have NO complaints (until youve seen Brotherhood... which is why i recommend anyone whos gonna watch both watch the original first cause they wont be able to watch that after seeing Brotherhood)

Dethrox

@Himiyo what about Saga of Tanya the evil ? i think thats really great isekai

Daniel Musgrave

“The end of the last video was absolutely heartbreaking” The second he said that i was like OH MAN just wait till the end of this one 😂

Himiyo

@Shade I've watched all the anime reacts and most streams and haven't heard hhim say something like that atleast in a while, he seems dead set on checking out quite a lot of anime now - A lot of isekai shows have self inserts instead of actual good characters but not really the super popular ones (barring SAO if you count it), they can also have lots of tropes but I wouldn't say they're similar in terms of feel or story compared to other genres, all of the anime I listed for example don't suffer from these issues, only big simularity is Tensura and Overlord having OP "leader" protags, there's many more shonen battle anime or romance that suffer from those issues more so I still wouldn't get rulling out isekai overall, I disagree that he has to watch a masterpiece entirely but I also get it wouldn't be a bad thing if he does, I disagree that Code Geass is good for him specifcally rn cause he often misses, misremembers or forgets fairly important details in AOT, just likely due to not being super familiar with anime yet, but that's okay we can disagree.

Himiyo

@Dethrox yeah Tanya is great as well of course

Himiyo

Hmm I'd say AOT is pretty objectively a lot better than DS on everything but animation but I understand why some people would like DS more from preference, also I actually preferred season 1 to 2 for DS :p Overlord isn't on par with either nono, though I personally like it more than DS, and atleast for the LN the storytelling is done a bit better than DS though they're very different so its hard to compare, but yeah of course DS is objectively better overall

Andrew Lindsey

After arcane, I think you should do made in abyss or season one of promised Neverland on Fridays

Hugo

This episode is breathtaking! If you want more of this you def need to watch Fullmetal Alchemisf Brotherhood next!

Ravagerr

he already said hes replacing arcane with cyberpunk edgerunners

B. Kelly

😭 "I promised him. I PROMISED" breaks me every tine
