I consider pausing at the beginning of the bridge fight a cardinal sin btw :D

Stephen Ray

A lot of people think he's injecting something into his eye. I think that he's draining it - stuff generated from the river toxins that got into his eye years ago. Also really hoping you saw the song/animation at the beginning of the episode.

Thomas Juino

Character of the game : Ekko, Vi, Jinx, Victor, Jayce, Heimerdinger, Singed, Caitlyn I may have forgotten one or two

Daniel Griffiths

youll hate the game lol i recommend chainsaw man after this bro honestly. edit; cyberpunk is really good im game for that too.. but chainsaw man after that lol

Those people are just barons more or less. I'm willing to bet they just have quadrants of the city they are instructed to keep working properly/influence over. and for the tree question; its also cuz of the pollution. The undercity gets the runoff of chemicals from piltover, as well as their own natural problems with the gas from the fissures in the mines and all that. Makes it hard to grow when it's being nuked via air and water! And in some areas for sure the sun, but as we see a lot of undercity does go high up so it's not all sunless (like the tree area had sun) We got to see what it's like for people to breath the air from underside when they're not accustomed to it.

a lot of people from the game are depicted here in the show for fact, but there are a few characters in Arcane that we don't know but we THINK are actually in League. Some people who go by certain names in the show, those names dont exist in the game but their stories do, so maybe some of these characters eventually end up BECOMING characters we already know in League. for example, Powder isn't in League. But the show progressed and we learned "OH Powder is Jinx, her name used to be Powder I guess? Oh interesting". That might happen later on. "Oh *arcanename* is *leaguename*?? crazy" but its all speculation. no reason they couldn't/wouldnt. we're seeing origin stories afterall

millecamps

wait a minute where is the animation and song from the begining? did you see it? what did you think of it?

Nepherenia

Shredded Buff Counsel Guy (Jayce) cares a lot, and that's the problem. He's trying too hard to do what is "correct" that he is forgetting to do what is right. He tried to stop smuggling, and the rest of the counsel turned on him. So he tries to work with the counsel, and gets bogged into their schemes. He is put in charge of defending Piltover from threats, but when the threat is violent uprising from the people you've oppressed, how do you resolve it from your ivory tower? Use overwhelming force against the threat and oppress them further? Fail to defend your city and risk the lives of your people? Even knowing all the sides of the story, there's really no win/win scenario.

Silkos Eye is just massively poisoned because of the river toxines. He needs the shimmer drug (the purple ooze) to deal with it because it empowers the body and can more or less heal a bit. But he only takes a small dose directly in the eye so he does not get the negative effects like the junkies you saw last episode. It was nearly the same with Vi's injury last episode.

2023-04-27 19:20:15 And the creators already mentioned that there is no guarantee every champion who is in the game will make it to the end of the series. You have to think of the world "Runeterra" and the game LoL as more or less separated things. In the beginning of LoL it was the Idea that the world was in permanent conflict until a powerful group of mages created a peace by force. And they build the arena "Summoners Rift", where Champions from every country could fight each other to settle conflicts in this small scale and not a war. But later the developers of LoL recognized this concept doesnt work, there are too many logic issues. So today the world of Runeterra is a giant connected world story that is evolving with sometimes big changes. >>> You can check the interactive Map of runeterra here: https://map.leagueoflegends.com/ There you can learn about the world and the greater story without too much spoilers about the series. But there are still a few, so maybe you check it after you finished Arcane. ^^ The game just takes characters from the world and throws them into the arena so you can fight with every champion you like. In the game its not really important which character is from which region or which time. There are even godlike creatures or demons and even the personification of death in the game :D

the thing with the eye is that he became blind or almost blind from his eye with the water and then he found out that chimer (purple potion) has the power to improve human capacity so he use chimer as a medicine to heal his eye but chimer only works temporaly so he needs to do an injection every (day or week)

Where are the first two minutes of this episode? Is there some Netflix fuckery with Netflix automatically skipping it because it considers it the opening, even though it is unique to this episode?

Anyone who lists off the actual game characters is just ruining the experience of the show for you. You shouldn't watch the show with 'plot armor' expectations or else you will say "oh they won't kill off 'so-and-so' so I won't feel as invested in their well-being." Shame on you for asking that! You should be able to watch this without knowing who is a character and not, and still feel invested in the characters' development. Pre-judging the game by other's opinions is up to you, you should try it and see if you like the type of gameplay, there's an entire genre of games like it called MOBA. I play it regularly and find it fun and frustrating at the same time, but I come back to it time and again after 12 years. Popular opinion isn't always the right one.

19:00 - The point of the council is to micro-manage. Each one of the members has some measure of authority over some aspect of Silco's operation. Be that providing muscle, moving cargo, crunching numbers on profits, etc. By all means, Silco is the man at the top who runs the whole show. He makes the big calls and decides how the show is going to be run. Everyone else is expected to help ensure that goes according to plan and without issue. Silco is only one man after all and he can't be everywhere. So they basically help him manage operations. That said, as a benefit to their roles, they get a nice pay cut. Which is supposed to ensure their loyalty. The problem Silco is having is that accidents have now happened that put him in the same place Vander was in Ep1. He is starting to look weak and it is seen as an invitation to challenge his authority. So, Silico had to make a statement loud and clear to enforce he had not lost his edge. 40:40 - Edward said it first and I am going to back him on this one. Who is in the game and who is not is honestly not relevant. League of Legends "the game" is its own self-contained version of the universe and is designed to be a game. It has some lore of its own but its not as structured as Arcane. Arcane will feature characters from the game, yes, but it will not be a determining factor to who lives or who dies. At least... I do not expect it to. That said, Echo, Jinx, Vi, and Catlin are all LoL characters. So is Heimerdinger, Victor, and Singe (the scientist that Victor visits in this episode in the undercity). It may be worth clarifying in a later episode or response video to people as to how you intend to be judging these characters. The main takeaway is that if they are in LoL or not, it should not take away from their risks, vulnerability, or potential for death. But the main this I will stress is that the LoL lore is not the same as Arcane. If you would like, I know I video or two on YouTube that does a fantastic job explaining the differences in settings/lore if that would help you make sense of things. Perhapse it could be fun to do a reaction to if after Arcane is concluded?

I think it kinda looks like he is injecting a small amount of shimmer.

Miklar Sihn

I think we should all step back and bask in how badass Silco actually is in that meeting. His henchwoman was wearing a mask from the start, the barons all began choking almost at once. He stood right by the source of the gas and had no problems, held a speech, spent a bit waiting/staring a guy down/pushing a guy around a bit, had a single breath and then gave the guy a breathing mask. It makes it very clear that when Silco talks the talk, he can also walk the walk.

Miklar Sihn

I agree, that is important characterization for Echo. It is what shows that while everyone else is stuck on the past, his eyes are focused on the future. (although the past does still screw with him)

Lewis Coupe

You forgot about jayce can't be forgetting about our man of tomorrow

Love the content man keep up the great work excited for your episode 8 and 9 reactions you're going to love it :D

Toasterfinal5

Your Golden Eye Reference of the character Xenia cracked me up. So yes, I’m old enough to remember. 😄

Inifus

Cyberpunk first since it's got a full season. As for Chainsaw Man, I hope he watches it - I wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm loving it. The action is fun, but the humor is where it really shines!

marko knaus

If i remember corectly, they(Riot) even killed of Gankplank at one point so noone is safe, not just in Arcane. Even tho he's probably not even dead, it still counts :)
