I've been waiting to see you react to the opening

What happened to Heimerdinger was sad but not surprising. He was advocating for an end to the corruption and greed they all enjoyed while Jayce would ignore it in favor of other solutions, of course they took his side.

Martin Vaclavik

btw Jinx asked VI "Are you real?" because she feared it was one of her hallucinations, which she sees and hears a lot as shown in the show, reminding her of the burden on her shoulders (the shot with Mylo and Claggor on her back as she lights up the smoke), which is her killing her family

Hayden Steele

the girl in the first episode and the right hand man of silco are two completely different characters

Miklar Sihn

An important thing to remember is that every episode had started with a flashback that gives background on a character... Except the first one, as it wasnt a flashback at that point, the show just technically started when Vi and Powder were very young.

When i went in, i knew that i would love the Donger (Heimerdinger). There was no way to not love someone with that swagger.

So, the problem with Heimerdinger and the Council is that none of them really make an effort to visit or see the Undercity. It is basically an industrial zone where a good chunk of the labor force lives and works. Like any other civilization in our own world, the problem that arose was a disconnect between the governmental body and the people. There is no one on the council that lives or works in the Undercity that I know of and if there was, they probably got treated to a bunch of luxuries that in time would make them forget about the problems the Under City had. Jace went into HexTech with several inventions with the intention of making the labor of the undercity easier and safer while also increasing production. If he had chosen to announce that project and the intention to manufacture equipment for the lower district to help improve their lives, it probably would have helped undermine Silco. Also, that massive fan that we see Jinx hanging out at, not sure if you picked up on this but that fan (and I presume there are others) was made to filter the toxic air out of the Undercity. For reasons I currently do not know, the project came to a standstill. That too, had it been addressed and restored, probably could have gone a long way towards extending an olive branch with the people in the undercity. The only problem I see with Jace's gear is that as Heimerdinger feared, Silco or someone in the undercity would have probably decided to turn the labor equipment into weapons. They would have to have full-time enforcer security in the Under City to protect the gear at the very least and vault it up. This would also cause some unrest considering they are hated already at the start of the show. Ultimately, I think we can all agree at the point this show takes place, there has been too much bad to be able to fully undo the tensions between both sides of the city.

the lil fluff balls are called poro's and they are in the game, sort of.

Most of the major characters are doing what they believe to be right. Silco sees himself continuing the work he did as a freedom fighter with Vander. Sevika joined Silco for the same reason. Jinx, too. On the other side, Jayce, Victor, and Heimerdinger are trying to protect the city and use science to better lives. However... Marcus started on his path out of greed. Mel seems to be acting out of greed as well - hoping to get rich from Jayce. And the mad scientist guy? Maybe not greedy, but 100% amoral.

Ameth

So many people doing whats best for them, but dang it if I'm allowing anyone to be a little greedy its the person who is finally considering helping himself for once instead of helping others, Viktor :( :( :( after a lifetime of selflessness, treat yourself king

Love the content man keep up the great work

You asked about other cities and the rest of the world if you just Google map of runeterra the first link will take you to an interactive world map whether thats something you want to do in your own time or to do post episode 9

It's really easy to miss, but Viktor's assistant is named Sky and the girl that was watching him in the flashback runs off when someone calls for "Sky" - she's admired him for far longer than the show initially leads you to believe. Also, it really is a case where there are few characters in this show who are purely on the side of good or are purely bad, that's why so many people keep saying to stop thinking in those terms. That's part of the brilliance of the writing for Arcane - just like in the real world there are good people doing bad things and bad people doing good things. Heimerdinger is mostly good, but he's unable to see things from the perspective of shorter-lived races like humans. He wants things perfected to eliminate risks, but humans are more likely to accept risks in the name of progress because we don't have centuries to eliminate every possible problem. When Jayce showed Heimerdinger the hextech tools, Heimerdinger recognized that they could also be used as weapons, something that Jayce and Viktor probably understood but likely dismissed as being a rick worth the reward of improving lives. This show is set as hextech really comes into its own and fans of the game know there are multiple characters that fight with hextech weapons - I won't say who uses them since I don't want to ruin any potential plot points for this or future seasons, but the two tools that were shown are used as weapons in the game, so Heimerdinger's fears aren't unfounded.

After finishing Arcane if you wanna know more about the league of legend world you should watch the video "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done" by Necrit.

2023-05-07 23:33:38 nice reaction, one little spoilerfree thing though... Arcane is a very complex series that wont explain everything and leaves a lot of connections to make for the viewer himself. The lonely little scientist in his cave is the same guy who made Shimmer for Silco. Many reactors who go by 1 episode each week miss this, they also miss the shimmer-addicted beggar who helps Caitlyn get medcine is Huck from Vander's bar in episode 1. just like many other little things the show doesnt explain. I would suggest you watch the episodes closer by each other to understand the full story, you can still keep your release schedule and release them by 1 each week, but that way you will be more 'inside' the story :) About your question concerning Vi being dead: in episode 4, Silco tells Jinx "you know your sister is gone", in episode 5 he is shocked that she is "back from the dead". In episode 6, he threatens Marcus and his daughter because he got that information from Marcus. So yes, Silco told this to Jinx, but he believed it as well. Arcane does not waste time in telling things again and again to people watching it, Arcane just shows it and lets you enjoy happyness when you figure things out (like when you recognized Huck :) ). please dont see this long post as criticism, i can see that you enjoy the show, im just suggesting a way to get even more out of it <3

I don't think Marcus started down this path out of greed. He really was convinced most if not all the people in the Undercity are criminals. So, in his mind, getting the person responsible for the blown up lab arrested was the right thing to do.

If you want to know more about the World then please consider watching Necrit - The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done. He talk´s aboute every Region the Wold of League of Legends has to offer.

14:53 - That's a fair question. Marcus is an ambitious man who was in a low status without the talent to advance himself or the family connections to get him to where he believes he belongs. He resents having to be in bed with Silco, so to speak, but his resentment and shame over the arrangement thus far haven't been enough for him to turn on Silco and turn him in (costing Marcus and his family significant pain in the process.) Marcus is a strong believer in the social order overall, with tendencies to try to bend the rules when in his favor. On the law versus chaos scale, Marcus is Lawful with Neutral tendencies. (He doesn't care so much about fighting the system, he'll use the system to benefit himself.) Marcus *was* strongly self-centered and self-oriented, but began shifting to other-focus with the start of his family and the loss of his mentor. He began in the middle of Evil, enjoying the benefit his status could bring him over those he perceives as beneath him. At this point in the story, he is realizing he brought himself low and is verging on no better than Silco but lacks the conviction to change it. He is now on the cusp of Evil and Neutral. Marcus at the beginning of the show was just about pegged out in Lawful Evil, he's now L/N - E/N, drifting up to true neutral in that he lacked a true moral center or defining drive and is being humanized by his child.

The Talanton

36:40 - Dude, you were seriously on your game with this one. You caught the set-ups and callbacks, the characters and similarities. Really well done.
