Rwby is amazing, I definately recommend it. If you do start watching you would start with the 4 trailers. Also, the first 2 - 3 season have very short episodes, so you could watch several and condense them, if you like. =)

I really think you'd love to see all the four rwby traillers.

The animation gets better every season it's all in the same style but it does get better the people who watch this show are anime fans so I consider it an anime it has the feel of an anime and looks like one it is a light hearted show with some heavy undertones if that makes sense it's is a really enjoyable watch I recommend it and the Japanese version of this show is just this show but in a classic animation style I haven't watched it and i don't how much of the show is animated in that style

My roommate is obsessed with this show and we've been watching it the last several weeks. The animation is comically bad at the start. It's actually quite fun seeing the animation improve each season. Nearing the end right now, would definitely recommend!

I once again recommend Magi! the openings are amazing!

I would definitely not call it a dark anime, certainly not like AoT.

watch the RWBY Red, White, Black and Yellow trailers. they are very good

Isn't it funny, how Japanese people call any animated work, even tom and jerry anime, yet it's only outside japan that the moral police come to police and gatekeepers control what you can or can't call anime. Something to think about how stupid this whole debate really has become.

The word "anime" in japan represents all animated series, not just their own. That said the the word "anime" evolved when the media got popular in the west and changed its meaning much like other words such as "Otaku" which i believe meant "shut-in" but western people use it to describe anime fans

RIP Monty Oum (the creator) Monty was a 3D animator who was big into dancing and martial arts. He wanted to push animation forward. Anime at the time was known for having very small fight scenes that only had a handfull of beats (despite their corporate size). And Monty was doing fights by himself (for the most part) that were much more creative and involved than what you'd see in actual shows. (i.e. Monty's "Dead Fantasy" series) Anime fights are better now than they were in the early 00's but there are still offenders (even Jojo's chickens out on a lot of fights. Having the characters talk more in their fights than actually fighting) TLDR Early RWBY is rough. But when you consider it's total team size was only 30 people. (including writers, artists, etc) it's fight choreography is actually pretty impressive for the time.

The RWBY songs I would recommend to listen and make a reaction to are both parts of Red Like Roses, Lusus Naturae, Bad Luck Charm, or Hero by Jeff Williams.

Yeah, it's not a dark anime, but it definitely has parts that are dark. So not for kids, but it's far from the darker ends of the anime spectrum.

RWBY would take you a while to get through if you only do 1 episode per week, even if you combined the Part 1/2 episodes in the first Volume (season). It's roughly 12-13 episodes per volume and 8 volumes so far, so there are now just over 100 episodes out. It's an enjoyable show, it has its flaws, and some parts of it get better over time and others get worse, but it's an overall good show and the fanbase is very welcoming. The series creator passed away between Volume 2 and 3 and after that point there became a very vocal minority in the community that have taken to hating it with a burning passion - if you enjoy it, just ignore them. Also, you'd definitely want to have your brother screen the comment sections for you if you don't want spoilers - this community is really bad about spoiling major plot points, either directly or by thinking they're being clever with little hints, not realizing they're diminishing the impact for the first-time viewer.

Season 1 average episode is under 10min. Compared to Arcane runtime he could do 3-4 RWBY episodes a week and be done in 3 weeks. Season 2 average runtime is under 15min. It really wouldn't be that bad.

SaberLordOfTheUndead

I would definitely recommend watching this show. It is incredibly well done with a deep and intriguing lore.
