The reason the subtitles are wizzing past and hard to follow is because the subtitles shift a bit after the midscreen pause. You can notice that in the first part of the episodes the subtitles are correctly match with the speech, but after the midscreen, they seem to be a bit early. I think you should download a new subtitle for each episode as it can be annoying

I think the thing with Rod Reiss's eyes is to show their relationship, but Im positive that the uncanny feeling we get from seeing those eyes on a grown man is also done on purpose. I dont think the author would design a character that looks weird or creepy without any intention.... thats all Im saying

You are sitting here doubting the information that Rod Reiss gave us, but we literally watched Eren relive the memories of those exact events, and they horrified him. Everything he said about what happened with Eren's father and Frieda was 100% true.

If you think about it, Eren might have literally instructed his dad to NOT kill Rod Reiss. I think Rod just booked it cause he's a coward, but for him to escape Grisha?? All I can come up with is that Eren deliberately let him live because he knew they were gonna need him in the future so that the story would play out properly.
