Yeah, that is how last name in japan works. However, in the case of AoT it works just like our western mode because the "intention" is meant to be german names in general. So All the names are pronounced in "western ways" Eren Jeager, Mikasa Ackermann, Reiner Braun, Armin Arlert and etc

If you're doing reactions to the full versions of each opening - would be funny if you first did a short segment of reacting to your own initial reaction of the opening. (though of course only look at the openings up to the current one - the future season openings can be very spoilery now that you have some context)

Rewatch the show just cause he doesn't remember who had which last name? Don't think it matters that much - also quite sure it gets pointed out again in future episodes. It doesn't really affect anything at the moment.

Japanese names do use the last name before the first name, but the event of AoT are in Europe so it doesn't follow Japan's name conventions.
