From this half my favorite openings are Masamune Chasing, Believe in myself and the final season opening 1. Also Norigami is a great show with fire openings.

Fairy Tail had two hiatuses. It started coming out in 2011, went into hiatus, then we had Fairy Tail (2014), then another hiatus, then Fairy Tail: Final Series in, iirc, 2018

One thing I really want to see is Gintama OPs this is such a great show and while alot of it looks like comedy the Story Arcs are fantastic and pretty dark as well. If you want to see an example. Gintama AMVs is a great channel to check out some full openings with scnenes from the Story Arc

I think you actually will enjoy Fairy Tail, even tho you like more of that dark and gory style. Like you said it feels like a well produced anime, and in my opinion, it is, it has a very rich story with all the characters etc and all in all a quite good anime.

Fairy Tail you could just start watching on your own time, it's one of those shows that is longer than it should be. Basic idea is just fight + growth of characters. This theme is repeated almost endlessly. These openings do make me want to find where I left Fairy Tail, I just remember it was in some arena setting.

zero research/completely blind is the best. Reactors that watched the thing before should say so beforehand and that's my queue to stop the vid and watch something different actually. I only want the genuine first experience.

You say everything you've seen is great, but that's because you've been given the filtered best 1%. There are some absolutely awful ones too. Though while I'm here I might as well recommend something else from the top 1% * I'd personally recommend "Gundam 00" openings 1-4, it's a great series and really well written with some great characters, and no matter how many times I watch it I cry (no Spoilers). *second recommendation would be "code geass" opening 1-5, basically the same comment as above but less crying (more chocked-up/stunned silence).

Those are both great series! (Well, at least I've heard G00 was all positive). He's already reacted to the Code Geass openings, though. :)

If I had to recommend some banger intros from a different genre of anime, I would recommend to react to the Space Brothers intros, they're great :)

Op 17 sounds similar to a song from another anime I watched from the past. D city rock from the show, panty and stocking with garterbelt. Also the ending to that show is a banger. Fallen angel feat. Aimee B. It's sung in English. D city rock is a song insert during one of the episodes. The show is for adults but it has powerpuff girl like graphics.

fairy tail is definitely a good starter anime imo, easy to catch onto and the world building is great. I'd recommend watching it on your own if not on the channel :)
