11:05 How did they know of the Female Titan? I don't know if they knew of THE Famale Titan. But, after seeing Eren, they realized there were humans inside some titants. So they set a trap. To make sure the human titan knew to come after the expedition, they made it PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE they were going after Titan Secrets in the basement. So they didn't know that THE FEMALE TITAN would attack them. But they were expecting SOMETHING to.

Just some facts that you could know by now. The sentence subjects of Ymir is very important and you might have heard the name Ymir somewhere before in this series. In nordic mythology Ymir is the first and father to all titans.

The person following Hange around is Moblitz. He's in her squad and kinda like her assistant. Fun fact- Moblitz is the biggest drinker in the Scouts due to the stress of managing Hange. And this episode perfectly explains what stress she might cause long-term.

it called her Ymir (EXTREMELY important so remember that name) and desperately tried to stop itself from devouring her, perhaps Ymir was someone close to him or maybe some sort of authority (it bowed to her) maybe it stopped following Hange because it remembered this accident and didn't want to kill someone resembling this "Ymir" again... headbutted the tree maybe thinking "you stupid titan remember this, you shouldn't be killing people who look like Ymir" or something

As someone who has already seen attack on titan x times, I am of the opinion that you don't really need this episode (contrary to the opinion of most here). You can easily understand the story of attack on titan without this episode. This episode only raises questions that are not really needed at this point. A name is mentioned that will become more important later, but it is not necessary to know it now.

Whoever told you this would answer questions is definitely wrong. But it does give you a ton of useful questions to add to your list. And that is the real thing about this show, it isnt about your answers as much as your questions.

"How can he smell a titan" You dont question anime logic :D Also they didnt particularly knew about the female titan. They knew theres someone working with titans and knowing Eren can turn into one they deduced that someone maybe have the same power

Watching through the series the first time, I don't think I saw this episode. And after watching it...yes, it does kinda have some noteworthy info in it.

also no the female titan DIDNT try to kill Reiner they even said in the episode where they talked about the female titan being annie that the female titan capturing Reiner was just a ploy so he could write a message in her hand telling her Eren's location
