PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT LUKE After finishing season 1 you should watch the 'No Regret' OVA, it is made of two episodes, after that watch ONLY EPISODE 1 of season 2. Then watch the 'Ilse's notebook' OVA, then you can watch the rest of season 2 normally. Trust me, this order of episodes will give you the best possible watching experience.

i think it's less that Eren has a crush on Annie and more of a shattering of his ideals. think about it, he spent his whole life holding what seems to be a very deep-seated grudge against the titans because they caused the situation they were in. If Annie was the titan, however, then that means it's possible that humanity's whole misfortune is caused by none other than themselves. this is the starting line Luke.

Those flashback moments are very very important and some might tease questions that you haven't even considered yet. This show is so masterfully crafted that everything you will ever see exists for a purpose.

He doesn't have a crush on her, his just conflicted in general. It easy to forget sometimes they are all teenagers. Mikasa loves Eren and shes doesn't know exactly what sort of love that is, but theres definately an element of Romantic love there so shes projecting that jealousy that he might be interested in someone else. In my opinion. EDIT: And yeah, cliffhangers are not gonna get any better. And if you watch more anime, you'll get used to it. Its basic a double down, the shows are always edited and designed to leave you on a cliffhanger to make you come back next week. But they are also nearly all adapted from source material and a huge amount of that source material is from weekly serialized "comics" that again, leave the stories on a cliffhanger to get you to buy next weeks.
