Having watched the show already, the first opening makes a whole lot of sense. Edit: Also, you did watch the season 2 openings in the wrong order!

There last opening is also from season 1. It's split cour, meaning the first half is 12-13 episodes typically, and then the second half airs later in the year. Glad you didn't watch the 2nd opening for season 2 since it has spoilers. I'd highly recommend giving re zero a watch, it's phenomenal if you like character driven stories. Good series to react to and hypothesis on as well

Hey, if you wanna do more anime openings/endings reactions in the future, here is a very useful site that can assist you: animethemes.moe/search It has a lot of anime opening and ending songs without being edited or having extra stuff for youtube etc. just type in the anime name and it will give you a complete list of all videos in good quality.

I already recommended Overlord reactions before, but I think I'll take that back and request Re:Zero instead. Don't get me wrong. I love Overlord, but Re:Zero is easily one of my favourite stories out there, anime or otherwise. Side note: Loved The Darkness. One particular scene still makes me tear up to this day. You know which one I'm talking about.

Re:Zero has a really amazing ending song in its 2nd season called memento by nonoc. The full version is on youtube and great too. This show is really good. You want brutality in your shows? This show has it.

Anime usually releases in 12 episode blocks. So if a show has 24 episodes in a single "season" it will usually have a new opening song for each 12 episode block or "Part".

Re; Zero sounds exactly what you're looking for. When we only had season one for 5+ years, it was in my top 10 shows of all time and top 5 for anime. However, after season two was released, it is number one on both of those lists, and the future is promising for it. From what you said you enjoy, it should be on your list to watch soon, probably more so than AoT.

Also u guessed right. The when the main characters die he jump back to a 'savepoint' and start it again lot of the times until he saves everyone, but that trauma that he live with that he see so many friends and beloved died in multiple times just so depressing.
