Gintama would be sooo cool. Its funny easy to watch and the story arc are some of best Shounen has to offer. Gintoki = Best shounen Character

Connor Hennessy

Lol, yes it is reasonable to assume at this point that the king is probably far and above stronger than any human, but there are at least hundreds of politicians in this world that can just drop another miniature rose on him. Heck, given that it was described as relatively cheap and accessible, there are probably far stronger nukes in the HxH world. The only reason they probably didn't drop a bomb from the start was because of the possible humanitarian issues and political ramifications of doing so, which honestly wouldn't have amounted to more than a headache. Even without nen or biological advantages, humanity had the ants in checkmate from the beginning. I think this was a great development for such a late stage in the story. We get so absorbed in the magic powers fantasy, but then out of nowhere it grounds the setting and story and reminds us that real life militaries/governments could lowdif them effortlessly.

Kassh

This is arc is what makes HXH one of the best anime of all time on so many list.

I d love GINTAMA !!! MY FAV SERIES. alongside Index ( anime is far worse than the novels tho ), Saint Seiya and Tensura.

Aaren YASS

Hell yeah. 7 eps left for this arc.

Lief

And it's so uncommon to see people react to Gintama. At least in my YouTube feeds, it's reeeeally rare. I would love to see Luke react to it

Lia

Honestly I'd be equally happy with Naruto, Bleach or Jojo. One Piece is the only one I really don't want because I despise the pacing of the OP anime, so unless it gets a remake or an abridged version I know I won't rewatch it, but that's just my personal preference. If Naruto and Bleach are voted for, I hope Luke skips the filler episodes for the same reason. As for Gintama, as much as I'd love to watch Luke's reaction of it, I fear that in his current state he won't understand the many references to other anime, so I'm hoping it gets voted last so that he can enjoy it fully.

Hikari Ai

Compared to AoT, Gintama, HxH, Jojo, etc, Naruto is very mid. It starts strong but it has so many flaws and issues that's hard to even recommend nowadays.

Frentzy

I believe naruto without fillers is better than jojo, gintama, but can't beat hxh, aot. Like naruto small has like 70 fillers or smthin, and shippuden like 150 fillers. So yeah any anime that has fillers it's shittier than those who do not have fillers. My point refers to the non-filler content. Which is actually good.

Lia

Naruto has its flaws but I definitely wouldn't call it "mid".

Aaren YASS

He would have to refer to the OCEAN fan-cut for no filler. Although it would be the English dub. Even following a filler guide, the shippuden episodes are weaved with filler, which is foul. It's otherwise solid and definitely something he would enjoy, so I would not use the word MID while considering HIS tastes. Its emotional and humanizing beats are something he already likes from HxH, and many aspects are inspired/adopted into Naruto in that sense. (But yea, OG Naruto is more consistent than Shippuden and has an upscale in arc quality much like HxH. ) -

Aaren YASS

Saying Netero was a BTS fan had me dead lmao ♥

Fahed JKR

yooooooooo 🔥🔥

Felipe

The power of the nuke, the king should have watched some eminence in shadow instead of playing board games. Welcome to Earth!

The scenario you described at the end is absolutely a recency bias....recency bias is not that something is newer than something else, its that you have seen it "recently", hence recency bias. Films, Shows, etc have a tendency to drop in score as time passes on, and you tend yo give them higher scores, as they are fresh in your memory, they are new, and you remember everything about it (scenes, feelings, etc). So its not that you can never choose a new favorite movie, just that saying a movie is the best thing ever right out of the cinema is probably just recency bias. But if you feel the same way a few months later, and still have fond memories about it, than it probably is your new favorite movie.

patros36

Also from the choice present, i think JOJO is the best above all the others, as its really unique and changes every so often, while still having that overarching story of a long running series, which makes it a lot more digestable for a wider audience. Otherwise wishing for Gintama, as its one of my favorite series ever, so there may be a bias. A lot of people say Luke needs to watch more anime before Gintama, but there really aren't many references that require extensive knowledge, most of them you can pick up just by consuming anime content, which Luke does a lot, and knowing things like tropes and stuff, which after around 50 or so anime, Luke probably already has. Still doubt it will win though, as not many people have seen it unfortunately. Personally i have it way above even HxH.

Mali Vega

As much as Gintama is my favorite anime, I still think itd be better to watch after you watch more anime considering its a parody anime and makes SO many references to older animes (like bleach, naruto and one piece). Also side note why not Mob Psycho 100! please add that too the list I am waiting patiently and impatiently lol

Michael

Why does Luke say Netero was no where near a match for Meruem, it’s pretty clear he was damn close, he did manage to injure him. Obviously the King outmatches him but it’s not worlds apart.

Michael

I hope to God he does 6 episodes in two weeks.

Zer0

King: However, humans will no longer be used to propagate our species. We have learned that the strong human ego disrupts the bonds between Ants. Out of respect for your efforts, I shall allow humans to permanently survive within a special zone. We shall reevaluate the number and quality of humans to be used as food. Luke: The king is actually pretty chill.

Croyvile

Is there an actual poll for next big anime? Personally I vote for bleach.

EdTheAlchemist

Peak x Peak still hasn't hit its Peak yet.

Suichoku

Isn't Mob Psycho confirmed to be on the queue already? Cant quite remember which anime was before it and if that will be after Vinland Saga or Demon Slayer (I am 80% sure it was Demon Slayer). So Demon Slayer -> anime -> Mob Psycho 100 EDIT: Nvm it might be already after Demon Slayer, since vote went Overlord, Demon Slayer and Mob Psycho

yuzu hibiki

nah Netero was indeed no match for Meruem. He went all out to kill Meruem, but only managed to injured him alittle. If it wasn't for the bomb, Meruem would probably rule over the human. The Ant original homeland were also from the dark continent in the first place

yuzu hibiki

Gintama/ Bleach personally. Honestly as much as Gintama has parody moments. it's mostly understandable even if you haven't seen those parodies itself. Sure if you can recognise where it's from it would make the joke more hilarious, but it's usually rather obvious as long as you seen the openings of so many anime and most of the jokes are not really parodies but rather Chin jokes

shibanu_IM

46:32 Do you remember when the old man used 1 leg and 1 arm to play with Gon?

Juan Contreras

I just notice isn’t he the same narrator from Baki?

Juho Kaartoaho

Ah yes king has to be killed by ether this, that or something else.

BRUNO Marques

Netero was no match, but Meruem was powerless against even mass produced human weapons. That's the point. You just went through 100+ episodes of Nen development, only to find that all the Nen we have seen is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things. There are much worse things than the chimera ants in this world.

BRUNO Marques

If you do bleach, then probably skip most of the filler episodes. The majority of it is very, very bad. There are some gems though.

BlekDimon

I wouldn't say Naruto is mid, but I definetly view it below Aot, JoJo and Hxh; haven't seen Gintama.

BlekDimon

From what I have seen, I think another issue why Gintama isn't as much reacted to and recommended compared to the other big shounen titles, is because it's very episodic, which eventually bores a lot of people. I personally have seen one episodic anime with 100+ episodes and it takes me months to get through, even though I like it a lot.

Aaren YASS

It really is terrifying that they refer to this deadly and unethical bomb as "cheap and easy to mass produce" in combination with "small dictatorships". Using this weapon on small scale, almost petty, when it has such an infectious reach is bone-chilling. -

Aaren YASS

HxH becoming foodwars for half an episode is always hilarious to see reactions to. Just Bros being Bros. -

Peter Parker

chat was hilarious about that ant-nugget king size 😂😭

mjaomjao2

About the recency bias thing, if something is your new favorite thing it's impossible to know if it's recency bias or not. That's why you need to give it some time for the recency bias to go away before you formally apoint it as your new favorite. There's also the problem with nostalgia bias for things that you haven't seen in a long time so it's a tricky question. Maybe rewatching both things back to back gives you the fairest perspective but personally I think it's completely fine to change your favorite based on your current mood, that's what I do.

Zero

I never liked how they brought him back

Frentzy

For those who ask no stream this week, he holiday.

Stefan

Pouf did a big upsy-daisy! Scary Gon has the same calm position as the king! Ant OverLord😂 Not a bad ending.

Frentzy

I can't remember if he would do Tuesday stream or thursday. We'll see.

Lu C

MOB Psycho is scheduled after Demon Slayer

Lu C

I would put Gintama on a back burne. Gintama premiered in April 2006, Luke didn't reacted to an anime series that aired before October 2006 (Code geass, Death note) yet. So good luck in understanding now the anime jokes, not to mention the social, historical, cultural ones. It's at least for me more fun in recognizing the references by myself rather to have them explained to me.

Sean

Fun fact, England has helped create the most "Independence Days" around the world
