Bocchi's dad doesn't have a face because he's the only major male character. A lot of these types of anime (cute girls doing cute things) have no male characters, and her dad not having a face is kind of an extension of that.

The thing about the dads face. There are Anime where you ether dont see any males or where the eyes or face are hidden. The only guys we saw till now are the band in i think episode 2 and the dad

It'd be condescending and unfair to both the other bands and the customers of the club to have subpar music put on because the shitty band was related to the owner Luke. And it would end up with the bar slowly going out of business. I think it'd be shitty to let her go on when she isn't ready.

The Reason that I believe Bocchi's Dad's Face is unable to be seen is to show that he has little presense and kinda has an emo/introverted side. Hes almost like side/background characters who have no face. Most of bocchi's personality and some of her looks was inherited by her dad.

No its not finished. And to reiterate its NOT by the same person that did Freiren, both anime adaptations had the same director but the source material for each is from a different author.

It's also a sort of gag that comedy anime often use. Faceless characters are usually "mob" or unimportant characters, so comedy anime use the trope to do a joke about how "unimportant" someone like a main characters parent or a sibling is.

In fact, in the last episode, in Shimo-Kitazawa there were male background characters with faces drawn in. So rather than the decision to leave out all male faces, I think they are just doing the comedy anime trope of putting down poor ol' dad by making him seem even less important than some randos on the street.

the audition scene always makes me sob every time i watch it. knowing bocchi wrote such beautiful lyrics just pouring her heart out and she’s also pouring her heart out with playing the guitar during the song. i just adore the effort & strength it’d take someone like her to get to that point i think it’s so sweet

Yeah, the singer is Kita's VA. You saw her on the First Take. For the show and the record they had one guy make the arrangements, play the lead guitar parts and recruit other studio musicians to make up the band, but after that they seem to go with whatever musicians for hire they want for that performance, live concert or video appearance. Ikumi Hasegawa always sings though.

Usually, when you see the almost like RL movement in animations, it actually is a real live movement. It made by rotoscoping technique. And on your question if they know about her being the Guitair Hero, no they dont, but there is one person, outside of the band, who has a suspicion.

The Reason why the animation sometimes looks so "real" is because all the instrument playing and several other scenes were motion captured using motion capture suits and translated to 3D models. They then rotoscoped(drew over) over the models to get the realistic movements for those scenes. The manga is still on-going currently at chapter 77 the anime covers the first 21 chapters minus chapter 16. It releases monthly so only gets about 12 chapters a year not counting spin-off chapters, which there are 2 spin-off manga which update sporadically.

I said before that reacting to that song before hand wasn’t too bad because there is a lot of dialogue over the song. BUT NO MORE LUKE. The rest of the performances in later episodes need to be experienced fresh. Also, the reason why some parts look super realistic is because they likely used a lot of a technique called rotoscoping where you take a real life video of a person moving, and essentially animate over the top of it to create more realistic movements. It’s a lot more time consuming and detailed so it’s not commonly used.

None of the other members of Kessoku Band know that Hitori is guitarhero. The only one who may know is Nijika's sister, but even then I'm not sure if she knows for certain or just strongly suspects.

Hi Luke! To answer your question about Bochi's dad face. This orginal work is a manga from a manga magazine call まんがタイムきらら (manga time kirara) which is a magazine with the concept of focusing on girls story the the word kirara means glitter, sparkle, shine. Most of the works on this kirara magazine all focus as much as they can on the girls and all the male character with have a really basic design. Hope this helps you sorry for my bad English.

CRAZY DETAIL about their performance - you can hear little mistakes in this ep's song compared to the final edit in the album! (since they're not in sync completely yet) Also the mixing is done so you can hear more bass on the left and main guitar more on the right, etc, respecting where the characters are standing on the stage! I fkn love this show ♥

Oh, so if they keep adapting the anime at about 24 chapters a season, they currently have enough for two more seasons, and the manga comes out fast enough to produce a season every two years? Any idea on how close to finished the manga seems to be?

I bet you are going to love this detail, LISTEN CLOSELY when they play early in this episodes or first performances in the show and you will hear that it's not perfect! Or tweaked from the "full versions" made for the album. So the realism of hearing what they are "doing wrong" and such is SO delightful because it's more real and understandable than just to play out the song, even if it's not wrong, it's just an extra that feels like the crisp from a beacon

for the original works it depands on the authur as for the anime is on the director. the band numbers is reference to irl indies band in shimokita and they only appeared for a moment but for the father he offen appered so having and proper image or face might affect it. These might be really weird for western viewers but is really nothing special for us growing up with kirara magazine in Japan. Its hard to tell for the anime because they tend to add many original stuff into it, you can check out the original manga its really simply artsyle and is a 4panel manga.
