Omg Sylphie is SUCHA WIFE :) also, I hope Norn wont try to look for Ruijerd on her own. PLUS, my oersonal theory as anime only is that Rudy wasnt randomly reincarnated but inhabited HIS OWN SELF from that parallel reality, meaning his sisters are really his sisters, genes align. Just what I believe rn.

Regarding Aisha and the decision to have her be a maid, in the LN it’s laid out more clearly what would happen if they passed their magic entrance exams. If each of them passed, they were able to choose what they wanted to do. In Aisha’s case if she passed, she wanted to be the maid for Rudy. If Norn passed, which she didn’t, then she wanted to go to school and live at the dorms. Aisha passed and got what she wanted and Rudy let Norn do what she wanted despite failing because he thought that would be best for her. That’s why Aisha was mad. Also don’t expect Rudy and Sylphy to be amazing parental figures at this point, both of them are literally 16 or 17 years old right now. They are still inexperienced and horny teenagers trying to navigate their own lives as best as they could despite being considered adults in this world. In the LN Ruijurd explains that it’s too awkward to stay any longer because he always expected Rudy and Eris to marry and the fact that the two are separated now bothers him. Also Ruijurd guarded and watched over both sisters that night when they slept out of habit.

15:18 There have been many indications so far.. but Aisha is waay smarter than you give her credit for 😅 That's why she doesn't necessarily need to go to school. In the Medieval Age, not everyone went to school + Aisha already has all the basic knowledge one can get from school. If it's just to learn Magic, Rudy can teach her. 15:53 Obviously not, the point of the test was for her to show Rudy that she doesn't need school

dpolaristar

They talked about the mother last episode bro.....

dpolaristar

You read it wrong Luke, Rudeus doesn't WANT to hire her as a Maid, that's what she wants.....I swear you have the most bad faith interpretations of this show for some reason.

dpolaristar

Luke you are sincerely triggering me with the stupid takes on the show sometimes....

dpolaristar

I don't think you understand that Aisha is a gifted child that already has a bunch of her education down......

dpolaristar

Yes Luke top scores means she doesn't need school, unlike someone that gets bad scores, who needs the education more...... Honestly you seem to be the one being stupid this reaction....

dpolaristar

Why are you simping for Aisha when she's being a noisy brat, didn't you notice she threw a tantrum about not getting her way RIGHT AFTER she got her way to be a maid? And that she brought up in the letter she wanted Norn to live with them when in the same letter it also says she should go to school, you know the thing you were harping on about not two minutes ago? The sheer double standards.....

dpolaristar

I mean a lot of anime's you've seen where I guess the dialogue is a "slog" I liked. Like I was not upset about Re;Zero Season 2 like you seem to be, where it seems a lot of times you were kinda wanting the dialogue to go faster, with the exception of the Witch's Tea Parties.

Kamil Butala

I love the reactions as well as episodes themselves :)

Roxy’s Holy Relic

I really enjoyed this episode, I feel like Cour 2 is doing a better job at pacing than the first part of season 2. My biggest issue with this episode is that they cut Norn’s POV from the light novel, which is very important, not sure why they decided to do that. Maybe it’ll be included in the next episode. I’m glad we got to see Ruijerd again briefly. In the novel Ruijerd is pretty cold towards Sylphie and throws a bit of shade her way while he’s at their house but the anime showed him being pretty warm overall. Panties In the next few episodes we’re going to start entering Peak Mushoku Tensei territory, I absolutely cannot wait

Aisha best girl

Princess Ariel is actually a huge degenerate, they toned her down in the anime adaptation

With regards to the schooling in this world, most of it is just teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic. In the book, it is shown that Aisha excels in all three and is already more intelligent and clever than most people. I believe that she is also elementary in six different types of magic. As such, there isn't much that the school can teach her besides magic and Rudy and Sylphie could cover that if desired. Regarding the entrance test, I believe that Aisha was the first person to actually obtain a perfect score on the entrance test. The test is written to be difficult enough that most graduates couldn't get a perfect score. Even the principle was impressed enough that he was willing to admit Aisha as a special student which would exempt her from classes and tuition... which effectively states that they couldn't really teach her much. Linia and Pursena thought that Rudy would like their present because they saw his shrine during the kidnapping event. They were under the impression that he worshiped panties in general.

Nikkelz

While Mushoku does a lot of right its not the only show that does "slow" episodes really well. While your anime count is starting to get up there you've still only kept to mostly shonen or action heavy series and not very many slice of life. Using bunny girl as your second example shows that you recognize it when its the purpose of the series but that's just slice of life in general their focus is on dramatic moments or thoughtful dialogue rather than smash smash bang bang.

Omer Durrani

Great episode and loved the reaction. About the Aisha stuff, its understandable how you'd feel without the complete context since stuff gets left out in adapting light novels like Mushoku Tensei. In short, Aisha is already literate beyond all the classes being taught at the university (Yes its called a university, but also time era difference). In modern terms it would be like telling a law school graduate to go attend first year of law school again.

Cyrill Attakpah

13:00 forward .. she WANTS to work as a maid .. rudy at least brought her to agree to take the entrance exam and said he decides afterwards ... the thing is also that her mother raised her to be a maid for rudy cause he secured her a roof over the head instead of sending a pregnant woman away in the middle of winter cause she slept with rudys father ... and i thinkt the conclusion will be that aisha helps in the household from time to time after classes .. but maybe im wrong - i will now continue the video :D

nikum

Tbh, Aisha is already at graduate level in her education, going to school wouldn't have done much for her other than help her grow socially, which is the only reason I'm bummed about her not wanting to go. Most of the blame lays on Lilia's teachings.

Animeter

Ruijerds voice sounds exactly the same... there is no other VA

rostikowb

Luke, you won't believe it, but there were no schools before and people lived somehow 😂. Aisha already knows how to read, write and count, for their world she already has all the necessary skills to get any job 😂

Kyle Garrett

Yeah definitely a big difference between Slime's slow start and Mushoku Tensei's slow start. One is an exposition fest that's a lot to take in, while the other feels a lot more natural and comfy at the slower pace. Slime is still enjoyable, but the difference in how both handle slow periods is definitely noticeable.

Misteryk

Forcing your kid to go to school against it's will and then saying how much it costs is a great way to make it hate you

Angelo

Rujierd left earlier because he felt akward around sylphie he of course felt a bit uncomfortable with eris not being there

Arcade'owy Łowca

You are forgetting that Rudeus and Sylphie may aswell teach them almost everything. He is even better at magic than the schoolers themselves are. And his expertise in fights are also on pair. If one of them doesn't want to go, she may be even better with him as a teacher. at their level this is uneccessary for both of them to even step out of the house. Rudeus knows magic, fighting, languages, etiquette, world, even ancient circle magic is within reach. Rudeus and Sylphie would be a world class teachers. Ps. the highness is definietly into this kind of stuff, she made a pass on Sylhpie afterall xD

Animeter

Yeah man, calm down. wtf. It's a good reaction overall, imo

Nicolas Castro

It may seem wrong that they decide that Aisha does not go to college, but she is literally a genius who is well above average and there are not many subjects that can teach her beyond magic, but this is less fundamental for everyday life for someone who does not want to be an adventurer or have a job related to magic.

2024-05-07 03:37:10 In that world there is no "Mandatory Education", School is something you do if you want to. So even older guys go. Also, because is expensive, many people don't even finish or because they don't have enough mana. For example, in fourth year they start teaching Advanced Ranked Magic, and many drop out there because they don't have enough mana to keep up (a friend of Roxy had to do that). Rudy never met or lived with Aisha and Norn, Sylphie did. Aisha is a damn genius who can learn anything on the first try and hated school because she understood better than the teachers and usually found ways to do things better than them, which won her the hatred of teachers as well as they reprimanded her for not using "their method" or hit her because they got mad that she exposed her incompetence or mistakes. (Vol 11 - SS Chapter "The Maid Saw It") So Aisha was done with that crap and didn't wanted to go anymore. Also, having top scores after being 1 WHOLE YEAR traveling with Ruijerd without having anything to learn from shows just how fast she can learn things by herself.

Great reaction, great episode, I wish we had 40-minute episodes to fit everything in, but we have what we have

Kyle Garrett

I guess the only defense for Rudy not sending his sister to school is that 1) It's medieval times so schooling wasn't super common / necessary and 2) it's a magical university, so perhaps outside of magic they only teach the basics, which if she's already mastered, then she wouldn't benefit from going. I agree with you that he probably should have sent both to school since that's what their father wanted / was paying for, but given the setting I don't think it's completely unreasonable that she's not going to school.

Keith Merrington

Your enjoyment of these slow episodes indicates to me that you need some quality Slice Of Life animes in your repertoire.

Yang

Norn is lowkey a baddie no cap

Karen Porter

@20:14. Literally a recolored Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Wow. LOL Well, I guess it is a MAGIC school after all. Gotta draw inspiration from somewhere.

Pilligrim Ilyas

For those times education wasn't as important as it's now. If you knew how to read, write and basic arithmetics then you basically got everything you need to know. Everything else was considered abundant unless you need it for your profession. The same thing's here too. Aisha's planning to be a maid so she doesn't need degree in magic whatsoever so it's understandable

Frentzy

Some LN Extra Details (Volume 10 Chapter 12 & Volume 11 Chapter 1-3) provided by Rizal Boon on Muse Asia - Ruijerd was still looking for his kin in the forest area in southern region's Forest, before he met Paul's party - Sylphie feels a bit wounded that Ruijerd is being a bit indifferent to her when he went to sleep. - They skipped sex that night when Ruijerd was staying. It was first time they skipped other than when Sylphie was having period - Cliff being typical emo self when Rudy asked things about friends and siblings. - Nanahoshi reminiscing about her young brother around Rudy's sister's age when he told her that his sisters in this world are staying with him. - Sylphie is still hesitating when Rudeus asked Sylphie what if he asked her to quit being Ariel's bodyguard when they went shopping together. - Rudeus tried to get Aisha to be more casual with him, but she is more determined to keep the professionalism if she became his housemaid. - Rudeus plans to teach Aisha some magic for self defense - Rudeus asked Linia and Pursena to help keep an eye on Norn after he scolded them. Differences from LN - Ruijerd did go back to having breakfast with them before leaving without being asked.

now you've got me interested, I want to hear more...

I think you're comparing our world too much with theirs, our educational system isn't the same as theirs. You can view it like this: Aisha got a perfect score on the EXAM, now imagine doing an exam at a school in our world which would earn you a certificate and you get a perfect score, why would you bother going to school for years if you're good enough to get a perfect score on the end exam? Plus Aisha is already set on becoming a maid, which is a proper job their world, you don't need to get some engineering certificate with special courses or some shit for that kind of job, she will absolutely be fine.

itaral

Badigadi actually isn't insanely strong when it comes to combat prowess however he is immortal which makes him considered very strong. I belive none of this is a spoiler but if i missed something pls tell me before luke sees

ArtKi

4:12 So what ABOUT Eris? You can see what's Eris has been up to in the stand-alone manga, Eris Gets Serious (Eris Gaiden). 212 pages, not sure if it's published one or more volumes

Colm Barry

Aisha and Norn have mutually sustained inferiority complexes, very interesting dynamic

Colm Barry

Couple of moments moments cut: Ruijerd spending the night in the house in the same room as the girls because guarding children is his 24/7 gig, and Linia and Pursena learning about Norn and thanking every god they didn't take anything from girls that young in the dorm

Jowell

I assume Luke didn't rewatch the special ending from last episode in this one?

Jowell

She is a huge sadist and masochist. Ariel and Luke both did many sexual things to the maids before the time they went to the University. She also pisses herself and came infront of someone later on and enjoyed it. In the web novel there was even more to it. There she violated the maids with a strap-on and also tried to do it on Sylphie who resisted where Ariel finds her "awakening" that she also likes to get dominated. She also gifts Sylphiette a dildo iirc in the LN. In a Manga side story she mentions that she gets aroused from public embarrassment which is why she also collects toys etc.

John Rea

I'm a parent of 2, they are 8 and 10. The only point of Aisha going to school learn basic math and literacy, by perfect scoring the test she proved she had already learned everything they would teach her.

ArtKi

Oh, yeah. I remember 2x0 when she lured Sylphie into bad and acted very very sus. Thanks.

GTB

Luke, although what you're saying is perfectly true, you're taking a slightly anachronistic view of the sisters' schooling. Here are a few details to help : - In many ways, the world of Mushoku is different from ours. And school doesn't have the same place or role as it does in our world (Remember that Eris, though from the nobility, had virtually no education). This doesn't change the fact that Paul wants his girls to attend school despite their hectic/nomadic/unstable lives. - Aisha was educated to become a maid. Despite this, the light novel makes it clear that her level of knowledge and education is far ahead of her age. Hence her perfect score on the entrance exam (Even Jinas, the vice-principal, was amazed). Aisha is a hard-worker, brilliant at everything and never fails. In addition to Paul's letter, there is a letter from Lilia which explains that this has made Aisha pretentious (that's why she blames her sister for her mediocre results), so Rudy must be strict with her, while he must be kind and gentle with Norn (a difference in treatment that maintains Aisha's illegitimate daughter complex; a complex that drives her to compensate for this illegitimacy by becoming “perfect”). Rudy then feels that equal treatment between them would be better. And by giving each of them more space. And not to compare them. - This is what Sylphie emphasizes by saying that Aisha is particularly smart and resourceful in securing a future in this world. - When Aisha objects to her enrolling in school, Rudy thinks back to his past and explains that he knows only too well that a person who has no desire to learn in class will get nothing out of it but a waste of time. - Which isn't to say that Aisha won't get an education. Rudy and Sylphie will. - And finally, it's worth bearing in mind that Rudy and Sylphie, who are just beginning their married life, suddenly find themselves having to manage 2 10yo girls they don't yet know very well, and don't want to be hated by. A heavy responsibility for young parents...who do their best in these conditions. It's hard to blame them for their inexperience. Paul, Lilia and Zenith were far from perfect parents too. Human characters, imperfect, who make mistakes...that's what Mushoku is all about. I agree with you 100%, Mushoku succeeds where many fail in writing characters and dialogues. Yet another episode that tackles strong human themes. Between Aisha's illegitimate daughter/sister complex (which I've already witnessed in real life) and Norn feeling so lonely. Away from her father, away from her still-lost mother, surrounded by strangers (including Rudy and Sylphie whom she barely knows) and her “perfect” half-sister to whom she is often compared to her disadvantage. May Rudy and Sylphie take good care of them!

John

Aisha just got a perfect score on the entrance exam for the UNIVERSITY of Magic. On her first try. Without studying. I think she'll be fine without school lol.

John

Some of this might be info covered in later episodes, posting it here means potentially spoiling Luke on stuff.

Subaquatic Toaster

Just a little LN flavor detail for ya. Aisha did study in secret for the exam just to make extra sure she could get a perfect score. That's why she's so upset when Norn is allowed to stay in the dorms because she did all that work to be able to stay with Rudy.

Subaquatic Toaster

One big thing that's a pitfal for people while watching this series is thinking in terms of our world instead of the world the story is set in. Aisha is basically a genius and has decided to be Rudy's maid ages ago. Mandatory schooling doesn't exist here and basically Aisha would be going just to learn magic. If Aisha has learned all she needs and doesn't want to pursue magic education, it makes more sense for her to do what she wants to do. Not to mention they aren't parents. They're newly weds who just found themselves with two preteen kids they now have to raise, both with their own issues. Rudy was thinking in terms of his old life while Sylphie was thinking in terms of their world. Rudy decided Sylphie was correct because he knows that going to school doesn't do shit for people who don't want to be there and decided it would be better for Aisha to do what she wants. Also, never forget that Princess Ariel is a massive pervert just like all of Asuran nobility.

Subaquatic Toaster

Fantastic way to summarize it. I think Luke got a bit too stuck in parent mindset in this instance instead of thinking about the world of Mushoku Tensei.

Xhaxhu

Her wedding gift to Rudy and Sylphie was a sex toy and a box of aphrodisiacs. That's just one of many...many things.

Jose Santiago

This makes sense, I read in another novel how they explain the Main characters situation. The MC didn’t take some random child’s spot to live, the person they reincarnate into was always meant to be them, it’s just that they now have memories of their past life as a Japanese man.

brotato 96

Nah as long as you don't reveal anything that has not been revealed in the anime.

brotato 96

Yeah One thing I will agree with is that Luke's watch list has been limited to popular shows. Its because Audience dictates what he watches and well, audience wants popular shows. Its sad to see but we will probably never see him exploring the diversity in anime. Slice of Life in particular, is something I never even saw making it to any recommendations. Only some SOL tropes being used in other popular anime.

brotato 96

Take this as, university's only purpose here is tuition and research, unlike IRL it does not provide overall growth or career readiness. One might argue that living and studying among people can bring growth and thats a fair point. But it is also to be considered that not everyone goes to university in this world. It is only a choice for people who want to pursue knowledge. I think except for Cliff, all of Rudeus's friends came there for different reasons. Zanoba, Linea and Pursuna were basically forced to go away somewhere for being troublemakers. Ariel, Luke and Sylphy were running away from assassination attempts. Badigadi and Elinalise are just having fun because they have a big lifespan and lot of time.

brotato 96

Luke handles it well in season 1 not to compare this world to IRL. But I think he is more sensitive when it comes to children.

MonographicSingleheaded

I mean, aisha is literally a second Rudeus lmao. tho MUCH more motivated hahahah. ps her motivation makes sense, she believed all her life she needs to give everything 200% to be loved, being a “concubine” daughter. sad, but makes sense for a child uncertain of her standing and safety within the family. children are always worried that fam members may stop loving them. especially after what transpired. adding trauma to trauma. amd Norn being a[athetic as she was very young when all that happened also makes perfect sense.

Mychael Dark

Considering the MC is a pedophile rapist, I'd say he's right on the money.

Mychael Dark

WTF you on about. The story is about rapists and pedophiles getting rewarded in a fantasy world for their degeneracy.

Subaquatic Toaster

And of course since Luke enjoys the show, he's a pedo rapist. We've seen plenty of your type. Sit down, shut up, and don't watch the reacts if you don't like them.

GTB

@Mychael Dark > Oh you're free to think whatever you want. Saying it doesn't make it true though.

PriestOfThighs

Thats what makes this story interesting tho, he doesnt get punished for a lot of the stuff he does yet he still grows as a person and by now hes actually a decent human being, im guessing ur one of those who thinks that people cant change tho

PriestOfThighs

you forget Paul didnt want Rudy to go to school. its the same reasoning for Aisha, she is smart enough to not need to be taught the things they would teach her

Nero Integrate

1 is catlady, 1 is doglady

Jolu

Many have mentioned how Aisha is a genius and the Magic University does not have many things to teach her but something I dont see mentioned is how she arranded the travel route in the optimal way to arrive at Rudys house months before they were expected to be there.

Taraster33

I am hopeful that Rudy will teach his sisters magic, that would be fun to watch

Petey Bickmore

Just more non-action stuff. I feel like Luke loves character development over action.

rostikowb

He will teach them, but we won't be shown this, as such “unimportant things” are cut out of anime

rostikowb

No, almost no one seems to have mentioned it, and frankly speaking, the studio was too lazy to make at least some visuals, most viewers didn't even realize what it was

Eshaan Ali

@10:45 When i saw her, I thought she was Eris. And that hurt bad tbh

Frentzy

I posted every video those comments, none of that info was shown later.. The director literally just decide his own narrative.

Guilherme Vergne

This world is not like ours. The same happened with Rudy, if you remember the first episodes Paul talked with Rudy about school and said he dont need it. I agree that with our world mindset its too damn weird, but the show wanted to say something like Aisha has universitary level so there's no meaning in her going to elementary school.

Jowell

A shame to be honest. It felt like the quality of the anime dropped off with season 2. I mean some people will argue that it's mostly slice of life stuff so we don't need very good animation, but season 1 had consistent top quality almost all the way through. I hope they'll at least adapt volume 12 with animation like in season 1 again.

That's a lot of yapping from you. If you hate Rudeus so much why even watch the show? Best go back to twitter and farm your internet points in your echo chamber.

Jowell

That will most definetly be covered in a similar episode to E0 of season 2 so no need to read the LN or Manga.

ArtKi

YES! I've been assuming it would be treated that way. I look forward to seeing it.

Another wokist, hating about a show he doesn't understand. Go back to X @mychael dark

I just wonder.. what if Ruijerd met Sylphiette with her hair still green? 🤔

Stefan

Who could be Ruijerd’s VA? Hint: try to imagine him saying Gon!! Sylphy is not ready to raise a child! Good choice to let the smart sister be a maid, I wonder how will she manage in Nazarick, hypothetically? It was that moment he knew, he fucked up. You sniffed very fast the “present”. And the only sister who got to the prestigious University is the one you need to bribe the school to get into:)) And she is annoying, even she’s a child. Bring back Ruijerd!

Fabien

Aisha has a complex because she's the illegitimate child. And Norn has a complex because she's not a genius like Aisha. Or even Rudy, she's a normal child and both her brother and her sister are geniuses.

Fabien

You forget Rudy didn't go to school himself (until he was older), in that world education is above all something you get through tutoring. The school is a university, not really the mandatory school, which Aisha already mastered the basics. She just doesn't care about it, and if she changes her mind she can come back later. It's a different world.

Flutter0Shy

It's not really different with some prestigious schools in real life that has all level of education. If a child does know all the basics or even intermediate grades, they either choose to not go and wait for the Advanced... Or just go for it early and end Expert in a young time.

I realized something, after rewatching some older reactions, but Luke doesn't understand people well. especially the ones that are exposed to trauma/mental illness. He can feel the sad/emotional things but doesn't understand them well. i'm sure the cut contents would have helped, but nonetheless it is necessary for them to do so to get to the more exciting part of the series for the viewers
