It's not that they make the real world sad. It's just that the virtual world is just better in comparison. Think about it that way, you can have your family/friends in a beautiful virtual world, you are free there, no work etc. And in the real world there await problems for you, and a reality - just like in Asuna's case, a mother which instead of showing love, she's just forcing everything on her.

I really don't like the arch with the excalibur, I forgot it existed. I'll skip episodes 15-18 for now. The 19th episode is much better, when does Mother's Rosario start by the way? P.S. It looks like it starts with episode 19, so I guessed right

Best arc incoming! Luminous Swords, the song that plays during their duel, is also my all-time favourite OST of the entire series, it's sooooo good :D

2:23:00 that was i was thinking when i first watched it her mom wants asuna to life her life asuna wasnt happy for her entire life and then gets trapped in a death game, she meets someone that saved her life, protected her, gave her a home, made her happy, is really smart, supportive, would do anything for her and is trying to revolutionize technology for the entire world (which would probably make him really wealthy) and she thinks a random introverted banker is the better partner he is literally the perfect husband

Deduct taxes and the cuts the providers takes, you're left with 12-18k USD a month Same thing with the A.C you were talking mid-stream, it's like 600$

The most filler arc ever in sao. Rewatching this made me realise even the author didn't really understood what he wanted to do. So he just wrote filler arc while his inspiration worked toward the main canon arc (a.k.a buying himself time). Having "canon" story that fees "filler" and can be skipped so weird.

Nah forget all that, I'm with Luke on this. You set a budget and, while sometimes spending more simply because you can is a positive action towards mental health, it's important to stick to that budget. Having discipline is such an important trait that it's basically a given for a successful adult life. Lets also not forget that the man has multiple children (I forget how many) and probably wants to be able to help them achieve their own goals.

2:18:50 I want to preface this by saying that controlling Asuna is basically the same as controlling the survivor of a 2 year long kidnapping episode. You're so fucked up if you think you can just ignore the fact that your child had no control over what happened to them. What you should do is help them adjust to their situation rather than force them to make up for lost time. But I can "kind of" get where the mom is coming from, because she is probably panicking on the inside. In the mother's mind it's as if your daughter fucked off for a couple years (what actually happened in SAO seems to be a closely guarded secret and Asuna never really liked her family, and as such has a guarded personality, by her own omission) and is completely different than who they were when you last met them. Your daughter met is dating some dude you've never heard of and she is thrown into, basically remedial, classes that include people who are 3-4 years younger than her. It's essentially the far end of the "I want what's best for my child" spectrum where it borderlines on some sort of insanity.

It's easy to say that what the mother is doing is very wrong from a viewer perspective, but I feel in reality most parents wouldn't accept if their daughter comes home with a guy they don't know. I know the mother researched Kirito but that doesn't mean she knows him. I don't know how it is in other countries but from my experience which is limited girls has it harder to chose compared to boys and get the acceptance of parents. I could be wrong though. Japan is a very conservative country so it wouldn't surprise me if it's hard for girls to chose there. Especially from rich families.

I do agree with what you said but the way he said "I can't afford translators, 2k/month would put me in debt" doesn't sound like it's over a set budget but literally "I can't afford that" which is either unthrutful or he worded it wrong. That would also mean he spends over 10k a month for some reason but I'm not between his toes so no idea what he could be doing with his money

I know this is a late reply, but he said in the vod he has a lot of outgoing expenses which is why it's not a priority at 2:15:25. Merch for example is not cheap to design and produce. Edit: I'd also add that online estimates of what a streamer makes are just that, estimates, and that even if 100% accurate you don't know their expenses or situation, so to assume all cash is just free to be spent is silly.

Personally I understand Asuna's mom. Her method is bad, but she's just trying to look out for her daughter. From her perspective Asuna is several years behind her peers, which puts her at a disadvantage. She doesn't want her daughter going to school that won't challenge her, and she doesn't want her daughter to end up eventually going to college, only to be isolated from everyone else when they're all years younger than her. So she's trying to get Asuna 'back on track' so to speak. I agree that her approach isn't very considerate of Asuna's feelings or desires, but from her perspective Asuna was playing games for 2 years straight, so I get why she things Asuna needs to really focus on getting back to where she'd be if SAO never happened.

At 1 point a woman was kidnapped and a giant named Thrym wanted Freja in a trade so Thor desided to crossdress as Freja to be married to the giant in exchange for the womans freedom. If u read up on this event it played out dumber then u think with Thor acting like himself pretty mutch the entire time when he was dressed as Freja.
