Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to Shakugan No Shana Openings!

Enjoy!!

Comments

KT Thompson

This anime is super nostalgic, is has a sort of Bleach like aesthetic!

Qenzo

Finally, please do the endings next, also please react to its ost named as koubou by mami kawada

Michael

Luke there’s a teaser trailer for the next part of Solo Leveling, you can watch it, there are no spoilers. This is it, https://youtu.be/K56ApDTaN_Y?si=ZcWV147YWiZOx4ks

ベルベット

I was not expecting to see peak in my emails today

Michael

We love Shakugan no Shana

Jaylious Yew

My bro checking out all the hidden gem that not many people bothered to hahahaha

WarTalon

Wow it's been a long time since I have seen anyone talk about Shakugan No Shana. This was one of my favorites when I was just getting into anime.

Qenzo

This Anime is very good 🥹

Cedrick Buendia

I hope luke react to endings as well, they are a banger as well 🙏🙏😇

Blastsu

Shakugan no Shana is such a good anime, love the openings!

Qenzo

Please react to Nagi no Asukara anime openings and endings 🫠🫡

DeusSilvam

Shakugan no Shana is a pretty good show. And one of the very few magical girl shows I've watched.

KT Thompson

Light My Fire is iconic in anime openings. The anime is definitely worth watching and i think you pretty much got the basic premise! I think something it does differently from the other anime in its realm is the weight of the romance and how it affects the plot!

kemplar285

Did he react to any of Yousei Teikoku songs yet?

NyrocX

Luke if you react to this I will legit go crazy. Shakugan no Shana is one of my all time favorites. It's a hidden gem of an anime that not a ton of people have seen and like no one has reacted to, partially because it came out in like 2005.

Raven-Seven

Honestly speaking, I don't actually know what to say. But I still want to state that Shana is not something I'd expect but I loved it because It's one of the first Animes that I watched, so it holds a special place in my heart. I'm here hoping one day, you may react to the anime itself. but I'm not sure. Apparently my favourite song isn't in there, it must be in the ending list which I hope you may get around to. (I haven't watched it in years so I don't know, may rewatch it again). I said I didn't know what to say, but I ended up ranting. sorry.

Kobury

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO

WarTalon

The anime for Shakugan no Shana ended in 2012 I believe. Honestly I'd say it is worth a watch and I wouldn't consider it a magical girl show. The first episode definitely hooked me when I first discovered the show and there are so many epic moments. A similar series I'd recommend as well is Zero no Tsukaima aka The Familiar of Zero.

PSadlon

Shakagan no Shana (Shana of the Burning Eyes) is tonally similar to Fate/Stay Night but has its own unique & unrelated story. Very supernatural action with romance subplot from beginning to end.

Fabien

It's one of those animes where I find the 1st opening so so good and much better than the rest. I felt the same way for Code Geass 1st op and a few other animes.

FaerieRose

Shana is what you’d call a “magical girlfriend” show, rather than a magical girl anime. The difference is that it has a male main character who falls for a magic-using girl, rather than the girl herself being the lead. Day 53 requesting that we watch Ascendance of a Bookworm after Vinland Saga.

Bersain Balbuena

I'm happy you reacted to one of the first anime I watched. I recommend good OPENINGS and endisgs that you still need: KIZNAIVER KIMI NI TODOKE PING PONG THE ANIMATION ERASED ROBOTIC NOTES HIGASHI NO EDÉN

CCALAD

This makes me want to rewatch Shakugan no Shana

nicolassngf

I really love this anime. It's one of the first animes I watched years ago and I really liked. I rewatched it recently and It was as good as I remembered. Definitely worth watching. PD: Light my Fire (opening 6) my favorerite opening from this anime.

Ryan Thomas

Haven't even watched the reaction yet but I'm super happy to see you reacting to this animes openings, it's one of my favourite animes to date and one of my first. Also its one I never thought we would see a reaction too even if it's only the opening as its a older anime and slipped under the radar for a lot of people as there are so many anime watchers I have spoken to who never heard of it.

Varnius

I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy Shana if you watched it. Also, some of the endings are also bangers!

Tatersalad666

There are so many really good openings that you haven't seen yet. Shakugan no Shana started airing in 2005, so you were fairly close with your 2008 guess. Another anime that you really need to react to the opening and ending is Claymore. It is from 2007 and is iconic. You have to make sure to do the ending as most people prefer it over the opening.

Kobury

Big thanks to all the other people recommending Shana op's with me in comments

Ramzes Khakimov

Lets go. I’ve been waiting for this

UcheJ

Scholl days - all endings 7

BRUNO Marques

Shana is a classic. It's not a magical girl anime, but girls do have magic. There's a big skip between s2 and s3 (it's based on light novels) but it doesn't impact much. It's good for the time period it came out. Part of a group of anime ( zero no tsukaima, toradora, etc..) that all had loli tsundere love interests voiced by Kugumiya Rie. It's an anime troupe all on it's own. She's also Edward Elric. Crazy range. One of the most prolific va's ever.

Ohms

This is one of the first animes i ever watched and im glad that it got you interested! Its an oldie but to my mind a goodie.

Ruukasu97

one of the first animes ive ever watched, great anime imo season 1 is from 2005 so 7 years older than sao

Phaerroh

People mostly only recommend the big mainstream shows they have seen themselves. There are so many bangers in the early 2000s that are sorely neglected. And fully agreed, Claymore is fantastic.

Earl Preston

i enjoyed the series. i cant remember if i've watched all of it but its really good. I do remember some somber moments but i cant say it was a super tear jerker.

Earl Preston

also JC STAFF has some killer shows. They did date a live, food wars familiar of zero to name a few.

ForEverAlone

Yes! I was waiting for this! Thank you so much to everyone who voted!

Kobury

The anime is basically about warriors which fight with soul eating monsters. The monsters are imperceptible to normal people so they can't fight back, and they don't even know that anything's happening. You can kill the monster but you don't get the people back, so the only thing our warriors can do is gather remaining energy and create clones(they call it torches) of the eaten people which disappear within a few days, during which everybody forgets they even existed. They do it so the world doesn't get all fucked up with people just snapping out of existence. Our MC meets the titular girl - Shana - while he's attacked by one of these monsters but it turns out he's already a torch. A very special torch at that. The story isn't super dark or something but by the nature of the world fucked up shit just happens sometimes so it's got heavier elements. It's one of the anime I watched when I was starting out and I loved it, actually came back to it many years later and was pleasantly surprised - it's got some dated tropes, but the story held up somewhat well and I even liked it more than before. Endings are bangers too.

Freddy VC

Finally some KOTOKO Songs, shes just amazing, you should react to more of her songs

alicev89

This is my absolute favorite anime, but I know it's not very popular

BlekDimon

Never watched it, but from the openings alone, dosen't seem like a Mahou Shoujo at all. The vibe I get from this, is that it would be something similar to Toaru, maybe because the openings sound very similar to Index, perhaps the same singer? And seems to be a lot of focus on magic and powers in a city, maybe even battle royale kind of thing?

ForEverAlone

I also recommend Asura Cryin' (only openings, I think the show was meh iirc) and Kyoukai No Kanata AKA Beyond The Boundary (this one was really good as far as I remember).

Lee

I agree, really wanna re-experience this

Jaylious Yew

You probably need to react to Noragami and Guilty Crown. Then there's also Black Blood Brother's 1st ending was actually sang by a Korean band LOVEHOLIC. Oh that song was fantastic. Btw, strongly recommend Gundam SEED and Destiny, Gundam 00, they have fantastic OPs, EDs and OSTs.

Kenny Vu

Have we not seen AnoHana op/ed yet or did I miss it?

TheWhiteWolves

#6 Light my Fire is by far my favourite opening, I even have the separate full length single for it as a staple song of mine I will continue my quest to get this into and through a tournament for you to watch, its a really great anime

mjaomjao2

I really hope you do the endings too, they are better than the OPs imo (asides from the 6:th op).

mjaomjao2

Shakugan no Shana is more of a Bleach/JJK type of anime.

BlekDimon

Nah, it's decently popular, I sometimes hear people mentioning it, just not many people actually recommend it or talk highly of it from my experience.

Adam

I wish KOTOKO still sang anime openings. Her openings are just so iconic and hit me in the heart like no others

WhateverItBe

Back in the day, Shana is the one make most of people know and love tsundere. The NL bring me to the acg world. Good old days.

Devin Harrington

I love these openings, I used to listen to them on repeat a long time ago... so much nostalgia.

Kranos078

Could you please react to tsubasa chronicle ost "a song of storm and fire". I'm sure you would love it.

Jc

you need to watch some Eureka 7 op and eds

ZckFox

Shakugan no Shana is not a magical girl series. It's more urban-fantasy or supernatural. Also, you and many other reactors I've seen seem to have the misconception that a lot of anime is just made up by the studio. Obviously other than anime originals, most anime is based on light novels or manga. Shakugan no Shana is from a light novel.

kloos

I have been asking that for months, let's pray he read us.

Reennji

Hace años que escuchaba los openings de Shakugan no Shana, que tiempos. voy ahora mismo a meterlos en mi lista de Youtube.

Hahuh

It's quite an old show, season 1 came out in 2005. The music is great from it, used to have it playing on repeat back when i first watched it

Danielius Stanevičius

Well it has magical girl tag on it at the end XD But yeah then if you would asked me I would describe it similarly

Kobury

Yeah the singers for op's are Mami Kawada and Kotoko and Mami Kawada sings first 4 openings for toaru series

Yel John

Finally, someone's going to react to Shakugan no Shana (I hope the anime itself too)

Lex Garrett

Oooh this is really nostalgic! When I was first getting into anime back in like 2007ish I binged a bunch of shounen series and this was one of my favourites. I don't think I ever finished the final season because it came out a few years later and I'd lost some of the hype for it, but I remember the first two seasons being fantastic.

Umareta

Now you need to listen to the ENDING songs of Shakugan no Shana !!! :D

syaimaral

Should check out face of fact by kotoko, ga rei zero op paradise lost, or chaos head vn op find the blue. Man I miss songs by kotoko. If you like the to aru series, you'll like this show. Shana is a complete anime.

wildhunt1973

Still, again, requesting you react to "Bad Candy" by yukaDD from Dolls' Frontline. Such a great opening. One of my favorites.

StrykerEvol

Yes! Another one from my wishlist. It's still one of my favorite anime 'til today. Even though it had me left confused many times. Especially with the overly complicated names. 😂 Now the only missing main anime from my list would be the Aquarion franchise.

Matthew Nichols

You heard Flare do OP3 in one of her concerts.

Sai

Did not see this one coming. Such an old one. Ah, Eclipse Fan Subs. My favorite speed subbers back in the day. o7

Patrick Jacobsen

an Eclipse fan sub. make me nostalgic for the golden age of fansubs, berfore Crunchyroll killed most of them.

Matthew Nichols

All the openings were done by Kawada Mami and KOTOKO, alternating each opening between them. The reason you thought they might be the same singer initially is because they're both members of the same talent agency "I've Sound", a mainstay of anisong in the mid-2000s with a distinct vocal style and, well, overall sound, that mixture of rock and trance (another member you've heard is MELL who did the Black Lagoon opening).

Phyllis

Shakugan no Shana aired in 2005, way earlier than SAO. OMG so much nostalgia seeing the opening again! It was one of my favourite anime that had action and romance.

Juandormo

Luke it is a Complete Anime, and it's really good. Is an adventure to watch, it is indeed a Fantasy anime with some drama, school and a lot of romance in it. One of my most nostalgia inducing animes, and I highly recommend you give it a try.

Hector

Please revisit the openings endings and OSTs of Steins Gate

BlekDimon

I never watched it, but I haven't seen any action series in a while, I will give it a try. I hope I will like it, because I became really harsh towards action shounens after watching quite a bit of them.

Kevin Zogg

Shakugan no Shana. An anime deeply treasured in my heart. I think it's actually still solid and good. And it starts off with a banger first episode in my opinion.

Frentzy

People be recommending shakugan no shana but no one is recommending.... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Sora no Otoshimono If u know u know.

Connor Grynol

I liked the first two seasons but the last season was a disappointment imo.

ベルベット

It is actually a very good anime, would be nice if somehow we got a watchalong, I think it technically meets his twitch requirements because of self censoring, but on the other hand it is so constantly borderline IDK if it would be accepted though lol

Tarar Ratulunde

Shakugan no Shana has been one of my favorites for *years*. Might be time for a rewatch…

Meh123

I'm so sad that this LIght Novel will never get a finished english adaptation. It's such a good series.

yuzu hibiki

Used to watch this on like 144p on youtube and it was like SOOO GOOD.

yuzu hibiki

The anime isn't that great thou, it skipped like a bunch of material

yuzu hibiki

No spoilers here, Shakugan no shana is a rather unique anime that i think most people that were anime watcher back in the 2000s knew it and loved it. Other than the fact that it had the beloved Tsundere MC VA, it's battle were fun to watch and if i were to compare it to recent anime then it would be similar to shows like 86. Zero no tsukaima is also another one that similar to shakugan back than and they were the lucky ones that actually had the series completed unlike a few anime that either deviated from source materials or just never continued. " cough" Rosario vampire/ blue exorcist/ soul eater "cough"

Sean Aw

Shana is one of those anime that are timeless, has an interesting premise and leaves you with a sense of satisfaction once you finish it

Jhostar

My largest tattoo is of Shana! Love this show and wish more people were aware of it.

Jhostar

One of my favs. The romance is done so well and the drama doesn't feel forced or out of place in the least. The heroine is well written and doesn't suddenly become the damsel in distress when the love interest comes into play.

slipstride

Shakugan no Shana is amazing genuinely one of the best love story's out there

L.Steak

damn bro, forgot all about this one. first anime i watched..would love a watchalong lol

StrykerEvol

Sora no Otoshimono would have Luke jumping from his chair. Maybe it's something for another "Sus Video".😂😂 Maybe we should also let him watch the Akikan opening, letting him figure out what it is about. 😈

alicev89

Yea I remember the character being very popular, and all the memes like the one about babies. I watched all seasons as they aired back in the mid 2000's

David Pulver

Shana isn't magical girl -- it's the same sort of genre as Fate/Stay Night and probably helped inspire it. Very deep lore and a good budget for action and music; the first couple of episodes absolutely suck you in. The ED (by the same singer as Cruel Angels Thesis of Evangelion) is even better than the OP, in my opinion! Shana is an excellent series, especially the first season. Inspired a lot of tropes that later shows drew upon.

David Pulver

Shana herself inspired a lot of other anime characters, and the look and feel of the magical combat in later games, manga and anime - like the "domain expansion" in Jujutsu Kaisen and Fate's reality marbles seem to have been popularized by the earlier Shana series.

Patrepote

Never seen shakugan no Shana but realy cool op Check this song : à collab between zombieland saga and an idol band Dempagumi ! It's freacking awsome 🥰 (Sorry if my english is not amazing) https://youtu.be/jpeCmpDpZuM?si=jImXv684HNWX9tC5

jom

LIGHT MY FIRE!

seansky

yeh im starting to not bother with recommendations in the comments here. It's usually a barrage of comments regarding the video drowning out the recommendations. i tried to recommend eureka 7 and Gundam 00 for quite some time, and gave up haha. Giving this one another thumbs up tho.

ShadowX

Holy, Shakugan no shana is such a blast from the past. It was such a good anime i really enjoyed. My personal favourite is op7

Saiden

This anime started in 2005... :P You probably think you've heard the third opening before because it was done by Mami Kawada, the same artist who did A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun openings. She was big in the late aughts when both were airing, plus both were done by the same studio. OP 6 was done by KOTOKO, 7 again by Mami.

sauce

This is one of the first animes i watched.

Amadhe

I would love to see you react to this eventually. I think you’d really enjoy it. OP 6… legit gave me shivers. Man I’m so happy you felt it was one of the best ones too!

Jonathan Ness

Probably one of the most interesting things for me was re watching this show later on. The first episode takes on a whole different feel after you have finished the first season and come back later to see something you may have forgotten.

Nina Poznanski

I'd watch the heck out of a reaction to this anime! I loved it sooo much!

Some0neElse

of course you react to this when i go to a vacation :O This is one of the earlier animes i watched along with Familiar of Zero Its a tragic one... it never got enough attention in the west to get its chapters translated (it was the time of fan translations) and the anime rushed a bit sacrificing character introductions etc. It had alot of potential though

Tom Boggess

S1 of shakugan no shana is about a love triangle. then it turns into a philosophy-lite anime.

NanoRyuusei

A must watch from old times :3 Love SnS You need to watch OP and ED to Zero no Tsukaima :D
