Luke, real anime fans DO NOT skip the OP or ED, specially when watching weekly. I can understand if you're binge watching. But if you're watching one episode at a time, the OP and ED are part of the experience. Also, this Anime is not historically accurate, but uses real historical figures to tell a made up story loosely based around actual events.

Vinland saga<3 while not historical accurate, it uses alot of historical figures like Leif and thorfin and places them in situations that could have happend.

The pronunciation of the names is off due to the Japanese sound system. E.g. 'Thors' is pronounced 'tooruzu' (トールズ), but the equivalent English pronunciation would be 'Thors' with the 'th' pronounced like in 'thorn'. The original Old Norse would be pronounced differently still - 'Þórðr' which sounds more like 'Thorth'. 'Leif Ericson' in the anime is indeed loosely based on the real Leif Ericson who is said to have landed in North America (Vinland) in about 1000 C.E.

Leif Erikson was a real person. He was a Norse explorer who is thought to be the first European to set foot on America. This was about half a millennium before Christopher Columbus. And he actually did name a land called Vinland. This is all real. Also, the Thorfinn was also a real person who knew Leif.

I feel like you should know that the staff who worked on Vinland Saga season 1 were at Wit studio, and they actually transfered over to Mappa when the anime had tons of works done on the second season already. They didn't have an unhealthy schedule. While I understand what you're saying, this anime both season 1 and 2 were a product of the same team all the way through. It's not really a good reason to boycott it, because it doesn't have anything to do with Mappa other than them grabbing the IP at the last minute It is done by the same staff, same director, and a healthy schedule for both seasons. Mappa didn't impact Vinland Saga really at all and only acquired it once season 2 was already far ahead in production

The setting, way of life and general feel of the era is very historically accurate. But yeah it takes creative liberties with different historical figures and saga level strength. A lot of the accuracy has to do with the culture

I definitely think Aot is one of them, it's the one he started with and the one I've seen bringing him to tears. Also a bit biased cause I really enjoyed both the show as well as his reaction. Ok I didn't know season 1 was made by wit studio thanks I appreciate the information and I guess I could read the Manga but seeing as I don't by any type of books off the internet and actually go to a bookstore and buy them my local bookstore would need to have it in stock and I would actually need time to go and buy books and seeing as to how I work 6 days a week each day at work being 10 hours and as to me cleaning up and doing stuff around the house on my 1 day off I would need to find time which I don't have

In my opinion Vinland Saga openings are good for actually not spoiling things. There is scenes of what will come, but they aren't spoilers until you have the context of the scenes. Ofc some people want to be completely blind and not see anything beforehand and then skipping works perfectly, but I wouldn't say the op spoils anything, so it's mainly just a preference people have.

ngl i tried getting into this anime before... i didnt get far. I think i got to episode 2 or 3 and decided i wanted to watch something else. It was right after i finished Vikings and The Last Kingdom though so maybe i was burned on that theme. Anyways I hope you enjoy it. I will be trying to watch it too :D
