Thats right, Serie is supressing her mana and no one knows about it. Its just a glimpse at the end of the season of her true power. Also Serie is dissapointed in Lernen cause he got so powerful in such a short time(compared to frieren for example). Imagne what would happen if he could live as long as an elf.

I am tired of the Frieren glazing, it is amazing, 10/10, but it’s definitely not perfect, there are things you could easily improve about it.

The Dangers in my Heart is definitely an anime that should be a contender for a potential Thursday anime, although since the second season is about to wrap up you'd have 25 episodes to get through which might be to long for only 1 episode a week, especially since the episodes are already (mostly) released.

I know you never watch the "next..." part, int he end of each episode, but... this one was special. In case you never saw any, all of then end with a bunch of random dialogs from the characteres in the next episode, with their lines poping in japanese on the screen, all mushed together, and with one then narrating the next title, in the end... this time wasn't like that. It was the same white screen, but with no distinct voice, just random indistinct voices, like it was the middle of busy street, with laughters and so on... and then Frieren saying "see you next time". That hit me hard to make me remember that the NEXT one is the LAST one... of this season 😞

People aren't saying Fern doesn't have potential, she's very talented. They're saying that you (and many others imho) kinda overrate her actual strength at the moment. It's a temporary thing, but currently Denken is stronger and others like Wirbel or Methode are probably comparable to her. But Fern and Ubel are more talented, they're just very young (even Wirbel is something like 30, even if he doesn't look like it).

Fireren - freeze Himmel - can mean both heaven or sky Heiter - cheerful Eisen - iron Fern - far away Stark - strong Serie - bit difficult, the normal translation would be series Laufen - run or walk Übel - bad/nasty/evil Kanne - jug/pot Lawine - avalanche/snowslide Wirbel - swirl/whirl Denken - to think

Frieren is not a battle mage Serie would not be in any kind of threat im pretty sure since frieren has trained almost all her time training mana control to specifically kill demons. But at the same time Serie would not be as good against demons as frieren is. It was stated by flamme that Serie would not be able to kill the demon king but frieren would at some point. Serie is a battle mage while frieren is not.

Funny you mentioned that Serie has bit of Flamme in her. Notice when Serie was turned down by Fern, she touched the flowers with almost as looking for comfort from them. That's how I like to interpret it at least :D

Frieren is 1000+ years old, she lost probably more things in her life than she can count. Memories are more value to her than mementos and the only thing we saw that she felt uncomfortable losing was the ring but even then she stated it was alright to leave it behind. That is probably why she didn't thought much of ferns staff, well that is atleast my interpretation.

We do learn in this episode that Serie is suppressing her mana too though. And apparently even better than Frieren. We also know that the Demon Lord was able to tell that Frieren suppressed her mana. So I'm not sure if Frieren would actually be better at killing Demons than Serie.

I think that people that say Fern isn't impressive just go from the perspective of their actual abilities, yes Fern is honestly not even close to Frieren in 1v1 fight, in fact I suspect she wouldn't even beat Denken in one vs one but what everyone needs to understand is that Fern has lived barely a fraction of Frierens life, it's like comparing an adult person to a 6 month old baby, the potential for what she will achieve in the coming years is just insane.

About Fern, as a mage, there are 2 things to differentiate. 1) Fern is a prodigy. That's what the show regularly shows. She was introduced to magic very early and intensively, so for her age she's very powerful and talented, and from an early age she's been trained by one of the greatest mages of all time. As Frieren's student, she has a very high level of mana reduction and detection; and her Zoltraak attacks are particularly fast. Serie, like Frieren, sees Fern's talent and potential. Because she IS amazing. 2) And then there's Fern's current level, which has to be put into perspective in comparison with some of the other characters. She's not the most powerful, nor the most experienced. She still has a long way to go. She wouldn't last 5sec in a one-on-one fight against Frieren, or Serie. And other characters we've already seen and will see in the future are superior to her. These 2 facts are true simultaneously. Frieren is far beyond the level of first-class mage. Serie made her fail for personal reasons. They have opposite visions of magic, and in Frieren's choice, Serie can only see a wasted potential...hence Frieren's failure. Yes, Serie conceals her mana. It's all approximate, but we can just assume that Frieren's unleashed mana seems to be equivalent to Serie's concealed mana. But we don't really know the true intensity of Frieren's unleashed mana, or how much Serie conceals hers. The difference between their mana is pure speculation. There are no details about this in the manga.

While Frieren is the pothead that failed out of school, Fern is that one student that barely puts any effort in and gets 100% each time. The good thing is Frieren is there to teach Fern to chill so she doesn't crash and burnout as so many prodigies do.

I feel the same way as you luke. I havent had a single episode of Frieren that didn't invoke some emotion. Always have a smile on my face at the end of every episode. Whether it was full of crazy battles or just wholesome moments. No other anime has made me feel as good as Frieren has

We don't know if better than Frieren tho' We don't know if Fern was ever able to tell that Frieren is doing it. It's that Frieren told Her about it. At least I don't remember a moment where Fern saw it. I don't read original, but I wonder if fully unleashed Frierens mana is truly fully unleashed. I mean, if she doesn't show only a portion of Her mana and makes enemies believe its fully unleashed let's say, just in case. If no other than demon king can tell difference since there is pretty much no fluctuation, then thats quite valuable strategy.

Serie is HER. The Gojo of the verse so to speak. But stronger. Remember she gifts magic, many of the 1st class mages progress so fast because they instantly learn the magic they wish to research and perfect.

Frieren suppressed her mana in 10%,so serie's true mana could be ten times more than what you can see now, truly something out of ever mages imagination that even the best first class can't think of the possibility.

Where does this "10%" come from? I don't remember the manga mentioning or suggesting this. There are no details, either about Frieren's "unleashed" mana, or about how much Serie conceals hers.

Audio seems fine, if it needs bass you could add some in editing (ppl will get used to the new sound eventually either way). I personally would preferfor more new anime react similar to frieren. So beautiful that all goes back to the spell to create a field of flowers and seeing Fern get the acknowledgement she deserves.

I think something to think about with Elven mages vs human mages, Humans have a sense of urgency to learn and become as strong as possible in as short a time as they can due to their life span. Whereas in Frierens case for example, she's incredible given the standards of most mages, but thats mainly because she's lived as long as she has. She never had to put the effort in that a human would in 50-80 years, because she lives for thousands she can just plod along and reach that point. As mentioned when Himmel first seeks her out in the forest, my assumption is she'd spent hundreds of years after Flamme passed away just meandering around her daily life, keeping up the mana training but hardly pushing herself beyond her limits.

Here's my take. Put Slime in the live anime slot Sololevelling is in now (since it could be 24-25 eps) then keep Thursday as a live watch as well temporarily. 12 episodes of konosuba and 12 episodes of Mushoku Tensei in that slot, and that way you catch up on all the series you've already started relatively quickly, and after that it can just go back to openings or whatever else you want it to be.
