Raider.IO Update - May 2024 (Patreon)
Content
Hello and Happy May, Raider.IO Patrons!
We have so many new and exciting things to tell you about since last month's update. We've been busy at work bringing improved features to all of our users, and we want you to get first look!
Raider.IO Desktop Client - New and Improved!
As Patrons, you were all given early access to the newly revamped Raider.IO Desktop Client, and we're very grateful for the feedback you've provided in our Discord. Our devs have been working hard to bring you all a truly impressive and comprehensive desktop experience. We're happy to announce that we've made a number of iterations since this initial soft launch, and the Client has now been released publicly.
With the updated client, all of your character information is right at your fingertips! Scroll through your character list to see item levels, raid progression, and Mythic+ score across your entire account. Check the Recent Characters tab to see who you've been playing the most recently and regularly. Did you recently pug a dungeon with a phenomenal tank but forgot their name? Find them on your Recent Character list!
If you’ve enabled Live Tracking, your Desktop Client will have insights on your weekly raids and keys, including details on your starting item level, your group’s item level, activity duration, and even deaths!
Visit our revamped Desktop Client page to learn more and download the client, and be sure to join our Discord to provide direct feedback to the devs working on this important feature in the client-feedback channel. We're continuing to improve and iterate on the Desktop Client and bring even more features, so your feedback is valuable and appreciated!
Cataclysm Classic
With the launch of Cataclysm Classic just around the corner on May 20th, we've been working hard to expand our features and services to the Cataclysm version of the site. You may have noticed the site version toggle at the top left of the page... if you haven't yet, go check out the Cataclysm site! This is where you'll find info on characters and guilds on the Classic Cataclysm version of the game. Throughout WotLK, we worked on building out the site itself, and now that Cataclysm is here, we're bringing you even more of the Raider.IO you know and love!
Desktop Client and Live Tracking
The Desktop Client and Live Tracking are now available for Cataclysm players! Many of the same features on the new Desktop Client for Retail will also work for Cataclysm. Raid progression, character info, and more, right at your fingertips.
Stream Widgets
Now that Live Tracking is functional in Cataclysm, so too are a lot of the features that it powers, such as Stream Widgets. Are you planning on racing to a top rank when the Raids first launch on May 30th? Will you be streaming your gearing and progression? Check out the Widgets that you can easily add to your Stream as a browser source. Using the Live Tracking feature, they'll automatically update and can show things like boss progression, character info (including talents, gear, etc.), and more!
Recruitment
One of the biggest things we've been excited to bring to the Classic playerbase is our Recruitment feature! Instead of having to find individual Discords for servers in-game, or advertise in trade chat, you can now use the Raider.IO Recruitment System! Look for guilds or players for all kinds of activities, including Raiding, PvP or just social groups.

Learn about team win rates overall, and per map, with Event Standings; delve deep into spec popularity and team composition by game and by map with Event Insights.

4th Annual Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am
Our favorite event of the year is fast approaching - Raider.IO and Team Liquid are back again to bring you the Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am! Keep an eye on the Teams page for upcoming details on our six teams of 3 pros and 2 amateurs.
The Pro-Am is an exciting, heartwarming, and often-hilarious opportunity for us to fundraise for causes near and dear to our hearts. Please join us on May 25 to experience this absolute blast of an event for yourselves! Broadcast begins at 9 am PDT/6 pm CEST on the Team Liquid Twitch Channel.
Break the Meta - Dragonflight Season 3
Thank you so much to all who participated in Season 3’s Break the Meta! BTM is always a highly-anticipated community event designed to showcase those specs who aren’t quite feeling the love in traditional key-pushing comps. We had so many truly outstanding competitors, and it’s always a joy to watch players repping their favorite unpopular specs in those big-time keys!
For the first time EVER in Dragonflight Season 3, we found ourselves having to ban an entire class from BTM - sorry about that, Demon Hunters. As a nod to the class’ prowess in Season 3, we brought in a totally new aspect of BTM: Meta vs Meta! It was a blast to watch 5 Demon Hunters blaze through keys, so a big thank you to our purple friends for their participation.
The Dreaming Banner of the Aspects toy should be starting to show up in your in-game inventories within a couple of weeks, so keep an eye out!
Until Next Time!
That’s all for our May update, Patrons. We can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the new and improved Desktop Client, and we hope to see you all tuned in for the Pro-Am on May 25th!
Thank you for your continued support of Raider.IO - all of this new content goodness wouldn’t be possible without your help. As always, we’d love to hear from you; join us on Discord or reach out to us on Twitter with questions, comments, feedback… or just to say hey!
