everybody saw the signs, and Chester did get help… many times. but sometimes you have those demons that just cannot be defeated 😢 honestly, singing this song (and others) along with him is sometimes the only thing that gets me out of my head and back to living. many people forget or don’t realize that chester wasn’t the only one suffering from depression. Mike is actually the one who wrote the lyrics to this song (and many others). he has just been able to deal with it in a different way than chester did 💜

I remember when this album dropped. I was in a horrible place, and I remember the relief that hearing someone else express the same thing i was thinking. Last weekend, I lost a cousin to suicide and I'm so lucky it wasn't me. Sometimes, you just dont know.

The last day of Chester life was he came home a day early from a fun, family vacation with his wife and kids and was home by himself. The reason he gave to his wife for leaving early was to prep some music that he and the band was planning to record in a few weeks.

Around the time when Chester wrote this song he just recently had got out of rehab and was very aggressive and mad at life because he was struggling trying not to relapse, so he put how he was feeling into his songs, especially this song and “What I’ve Done”
