Greetings,

It's finally here!

Changelog 0.4:

New city

3 new quests (But it's really like a single long one)

3 new H-scenes with 50+ renders

Lots of new dialogue

You'll probably get around 0:45 - 1:15 additional playtime (counting H-scenes), depending on how you play. Most of the content this patch (aside from the H-scenes) is related to a single, rather long (but hopefully amusing) quest. This update introduces Ogremarsh, which will be the quest hub for the next several updates. A fair number of buildings are currently closed, but they will be opening in future updates (0.5 should open most of the currently closed ones). So don't worry, Ogremarsh will grow progressively more lively as the Zameroth quest line continues.

I'm pretty curious what you guys think of this one - I'll probably be soliciting some advice via poll at some point in the update cycle.

I don't think there are any gamebreaking bugs, but as always, please post any that you find, no matter how small.

Without further ado:

0.4.1:

Windows

macOS

Linux

Finally, please accept my apology for being a tease last week and especially this weekend! Hopefully the fact that I'm no longer being a tease for H-content will help earn your forgiveness :D

As always, thank you for your support!

Someone has probably asked before, but is there a way to import saves, or do I have to start over? Also, the option to skip the intro is gone with this version.

OhioOkie

Previously you could use an old save. Find it and copy it into the same named folder in the update.

proxxie

You can import saves. And I didn't break saves with this update. Do as OhioOkie says to transfer saves for Windows and Linux releases. It shouldn't be necessary if you're using the macOS version, but if you have save problems on mac, they're a bit more of a pain to sort out.

proxxie

To expand on what he said, (if you're not used to poking around RPGM games) you should see a folder called "save" inside the www folder of a version you've previously played. That's where they're at.

proxxie

Removed. I guess I should have mentioned that. My reasoning was that the intro is now a much smaller part of the overall game than it was when I introduced that feature. It also highlights certain choices as potentially meaningful, which I don't exactly want.

proxxie

Looks like we might have a bad error. Stand by for update.

I get an error message right after the "inspection" scene with the "magic detector"

proxxie

Just informed of it, I know exactly what the problem is. Update should be out in ~1 hour.

the message says: Loading Error Failed to load:img/doodads/Objects/Outdoor/Chimney%20A.png

proxxie

Yeah. It's related to the fact that I use a bunch of plugins, and also try to remove unneeded stuff so that people don't have to download ~1.2GB game releases. I used a new plugin this time and didn't adequately consider how it would impact compiling

proxxie

Thank you for the details, though. That kind of thing is exactly what lets me figure out what the problem is.

proxxie

Looks like what I thought would fix the problem does indeed fix the problem. Uploading new versions now.

OhioOkie

found a fatal error. in the windows version ... missing file ... Loading Error Failed to load: img/doodads/Objects/Outdoor/Chimney%20A.png

I got excited to play, then I was informed of errors. Guess I'll wait then. :(

He rushed his release just so that I could save face. :'(

Don't try to justify me irrationally blaming you for everything that goes wrong. Persecuting you for something that couldn't possibly be your fault is the whole point.

Oh my god amazing oh my god thank you for your hard work i give you 11/10 stars and cant wait for your next update.
