Moving into a van was WAY more stressful than I expected (Patreon)

4 months of waiting, and here we are, I've moved into my new home on wheels! ....and it was way more stressful than i expected.

#vanlife has become glorified over the years. Digital nomads living this dream life we see on Instagram, waking up with whatever view they desire that day. But I've come to quickly learn that you don't just pick up your new van and drive off into the sunset.

After picking up our van (name suggestions please) from the workshop with a brand new kitchen, we thought we were all gravy baby, but Sydney's heat wave threw another challenge at us... the fridge couldn't handle the heat, and in turn, the battery couldn't handle the fridge!

We were stuck without any power. No lights, no fridge, no water! And with our months road trip only days away, we made a few calls and got ourselves booked in for a battery upgrade the next day.

It's been a time, that's for sure, and our tinkering is far from over. But taking a step back from the current stresses, I couldn't be more thankful for this life I have built for myself.

I can't wait to give you the full van tour! (When I get my van back 😅)

P.s This is me cooking naked in my new kitchen because this current heat wave is unbearable!
