The stalker stories are so terrifying, but imo important to hear about. A large number of my friends/co-workers/etc have been stalked and none of them are influencers or in the public eye. It seems like it's not uncommon at all. I didn't realize until I was listening to a true crime podcast that stalking wasn't even a crime in the US until 1990. (Even later in the UK and other countries) An actress in California named Theresa Saldana was a huge advocate for making stalking a crime and after she was attacked (she survived, but it was traumatic af) it finally became a law that stalkers could be prosecuted.
