Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Movie Watchalong

You guys absolutely crack me up with your conversation! And it's probably a good thing you had someone in the group who had seen the movie before to kind of keep the timeline from getting too confusing. I will say that Joel absolutely gave them permission to wipe his mind, but I don't think anyone would consent if they knew how the techs behaved while in their home with them absolutely helpless! I do wonder how their relationship will go now...Joel accidentally erased a large number of his most traumatizing memories in his attempt to save his memory of Clementine (remember how he said the first time he met her that he loved his Huckleberry Hound doll as a kid...and the second time he met her, at the beginning of the movie, he had no idea what Huckleberry Hound even was...so, we know he lost a number of memories he shouldn't have). It definitely changed him...but it's left to the audience to speculate what happens next! Thanks, guys! Enjoyed it!

The real question is, why do you think that is appropriate to ask someone? I was a cashier and a woman in line was having a fantastic conversation with me when, out of literally nowhere. She randomly asked me if I was dyslexic...It made me feel like utter trash, it was awkward, wildly inappropriate, invasive, and just downright cruel. It literally made me obsess over what I was possibly doing that could make her think that and made me overanalyze every little move I made. To the point where I started messing up every order after her. I was made to go on break early because it made me so upset that I was crying in front of everyone. It was so bad that a manager who was known to practically hate everyone else gave me a hug, when he hated being touched by anyone. If someone wants to disclose their personal information than that is for them to decide. Asking people if they are something or have a disability of some kind is upsetting to say the least. Some people don't mind but most often then not if a person wants you to know, then they would disclose it themselves.
