I've been trying to get into the mood of drawing comics again, because I'm officially working on a new story for Marve/IDW publishing !! I'm extremely excited for this new challenge and I get to draw preexisting characters this time, so that's fun! It will be a Halloween special that will come out in October. I'll keep you posted :) 

These past few days I've been practicing a bit of anatomy, studying one of the comic artists I most admire: Otto Schmidt, his way of drawing human bodies and shapes it's absolutely fascinating to me, and I always wanted to sit down and just copy a bit his work and learn from him. 

These pages were referencing some of the doodles he posts on Twitter, and then I usually go and try to draw from memory, to see if I "assimilated" something about the way he draws. I'm especially interested in improve my shapes, using more angular and curvy lines.

I know that it may look identical to the way I always draw bodies lol but deep down I feel I did learn and incorporated a few new things. It's a very internal process sometimes hard to put in words or explain, it just happens. Referencing and studying is always good !

And here's the Moana drawing I did for a tiktok video !! She's my favorite of these series so far. Lastly, I been painting my ocs in between work, this used to be an idea I had for Mermay and never completed. So I decided to paint it digitally. 

She's asking "why are you so eager to die?" and he responds "because it's the only way I can get home" gotta add those speech bubbles somewhere. I hope you like it!
