The second competition is now over and I'll be honest it was not as successful as my first one. The biggest reason perhaps is that Sci-Fi is much less popular than Fantasy and the prize may have felt a little lackluster, but I think I've learned my lesson on that front and I have a few better ideas for the next one! With that being said the maps made by everyone that entered were fantastic!

1st Place - Filip Palla

This is a great use of the textures and assets and a really great overall piece that shows off what the little pack could do! The rocks and the tiny elements scattered around (plus that awesome broken ship in the top left) make this feel the most complete!

2nd Place - Mark Vibadag

I cant express how much I love, LOVE, the lighting on this map, it looks so creepy and ambient and I can imagine this colony being set on the dark side of a moon or a very dark planet, far from the sun! (The shadows on the walkways in the bottom right are a great touch) The only reason this map did not win overall is due to the lack of detail around the assets themselves, it could have done with a few more rocks or craters to fill it out :)

3rd Place - Andrew Burgess

While on the surface (hehe) this map is a little plain comapred to the ones above its still a really great map for running a more in depth encounter or story! And speaking of story I love how the map uses one of the assets from the lovecraft pack and includes a spooky glow!

Prizes

The good news is, since there were only three entries that I could find I wont be sticking to the rules as such, instead everyone that entered, Filip, Mark and Andrew can request a theme of assets for me to do and I will make a little mini pack for each person. Just let me know in the comments or on discord :)

Not to worry if you missed this contest or didn't have time due to the World Anvil challenge going on, or current events overshadowed things, I will be doing more competitions in the future and i'll be spicing up the prizes as well!

Thanks, Caeora, Mark and Andrew for a great friendly contest. I think we all deserve something nice in these grim days. What about some nice spring themes like faeries, exotic flowers and so... Can't wait for next contest to up my game ;)

Very cool! You never see scifi maps made so I'm sure these will be really helpful for people

Those look great. The contest idea is really good. I looked at your tutorials of making maps on YouTube and they were really good but was still a little intimidated and little busy to learn something new but they were really good and I hope to be up for a future contests. And all your work is so awesome!
