Firas (Patreon)

This map seems like it’s taken me forever to finish! Despite that fact, It has been incredibly satisfying to get all the details right and to really try and get some distinct biomes and places of interest! There are four massive creatures that you can see dotted around the map, a purple worm in the desert, an awakened tree in the forest, a kraken in the ocean and a titanic dragon in the snowlands to the east. Almost all the maps was inked and coloured on twitch, which was a great way to show people what I was working on and how I actually make my maps, so if you checked in and said hello during a stream thank you! :D

I was given this description and this rough mock up in paint in order to make this world for one of my patrons, Jhamm. (who watched nearly all the streams, so thank you especially!) 

“Firas had once been a peaceful world filled with living creatures, grass and trees as far as the eyes could see, but something had changed that, something that later was lost to time. All that is known is that an intense heat one day began rising in the western lands, while the cold quickly settled in the eastern islands.

Both areas were harsh to live in. Kolmaivar soon appeared and began to wander Firas. He saw the warmth and he saw the cold and decided that where he stood would be a middle ground. As he went north and brought balance to the land his journey soon ended when he found himself at the same place as he had started. He silently took in the sight of this new world he had helped create and then he vanished. The land that now was peaceful, went as far south and north as was possible. The continents on this path were named Kolmaivar’s belt.”

Oh and finally I made a muted version because I thought it looked quite nice and there is a version without a grid or title :)
