Content

Over the last few days, I’ve made some changes to my patreon page and the Blue Sword discord server, including some new reward tiers, images and updated information. All good things! This post will also give me a chance to address some questions I've received about my patreon and what I will be creating and focusing on in the future, including a new FAQ which will be accessible from the main patreon page after this post goes live.

Edit: You can find the FAQ here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/16311486

New Reward Tiers

First up, let's talk about the new reward tiers. If you are already  patreon supporter of mine, nothing has actually changed, apart from some text and the way I describe the rewards themselves. The new tiers are called Scribe, Slayer, Explorer & Paragon. These names were not chosen at random, and represent a core theme that revolves around why you support me and what you receive in return.

The $1 Scribe tier remains the same as before in most respects, if you support me at this tier it mean that you enjoy my content and want to support me! You are able to join the discussion and community on discord, keeping up to date on new releases and chatting about RPG’s and games with other supporters. You are also able to vote on patreon only polls and gain access to sneak peaks ahead of the public release.

The $4 Slayer tier is a new reward for anyone that wants a monster or creature token of size tiny to huge. You also gain access to the previous Scribe tier rewards as well of course.

The $6 Explorer tier is the previously named Scholar tier and it allows you to request a average sized custom map. Most of the maps going up on my patreon are average sized, drawn onto A4 pieces of paper before being scanned in and coloured you can see some examples by scrolling through the posts. At this tier instead of a map you can request a single creature token which can be tiny to gargantuan in size, one size bigger than the slayer tier.

The $15 Paragon tier is a new reward for people that want to become much more active in the content that I produce. This tier enables you to view, add to, vote on and discuss “The List” of upcoming content. In addition, anyone supporting at this tier has the ability to request a large sized custom map which is drawn onto A3 paper or request a creature token instead which is far larger than gargantuan, around titan size.

No Goals?

I removed the goals on the patreon page as they don't really serve any purpose for the most part. I will be working on a custom site for my maps this year in order for people to search and filter everything I make and find things easily. That will happen regardless of whether I reach a goal. I do of course have my own goals for the content that I produce, but that will simply happen gradually over time.

Free Content

My core philosophy on Patreon remains as strong as ever, all my content is still free to use by everyone, for personal and commercial use. If you want to publish your own adventure using a map or creature token you are more than welcome to do so, and I would love to see it. I don't intend to ever change this, unless I can think of reason that it benefits the people that support me on patreon and even the people that dont. Once again though it's worth mentioning that although I live on the generosity of my supporters, I only want you to support me on here if you can afford it.

Discord

Finally there have been some changes to the discord server to account for the changes on patreon, with some new text chats and organizing in general. General chat is for everything and anything. Announcements just for me to communicate any changes. Posts is for content posts that are put out on patreon and for supporters to discuss them. Suggestions is for any content that you want to see in the future. Resources is for sharing either your own work or content for RPG’s that you think might benefit the rest of the community. Finally the Paragon chat is for discussing The List.

Thanks all for reading and supporting! Heres to many much more awesome content in the new year! :)
