TL;DR: XJ9 Is just about ready for testing, so expect some tests with her soon! Practiced animating like stop motion for the style I want to animate the school girl intro part in, and progressed into the P in V part of the Schoolgirl animation

If you feel like there's something off about her head then you're right:

Her face is flattened in the direction of the camera, in an attempt to make her more 2D-ish. This is the challenge with her design, that it can look really jarring in 3D. Here's what it looks like without the flattening:

Which, after talking to other artists and friends, was the best I could come up with, pretty much. It doesn't look that bad, I guess. Also, you'll notice her mouth is just a shape. That's intentional, as it's the easiest, and I think I can make it work with my animation style. If she ever has to do a BeeJay though, I'll model some actual lips for her. She has the ability to change her body, after all!

She's missing textures, but that'll go fast. Really not planning on doing anything too complicated with her.

Here's the stuff I rendered for the schoolgirl animation since draft 13:

And here's the new draft part I added:

The plan is to have Max's dress rip in pieces cause her ass so fat, and then have her continue without it. Helen then assists her, before she maybe gets on the desk herself.

I've been trying to explore more stylized animation recently, and I've also been trying to work out how to achieve a better stop motion effect. It's not always working out the way I want it to, because modern stop motion is so computer assisted and heavily edited, it might as well be 3D. Here's one test I made, with the doomer girl

As a change of pace, I tried looking back 50 years and seeing if I could mimic stop motion from the 70s through the 90s. Looking back at things like Pico Gakken box art:

I wanted to see if I could replicate something like this, and I made a couple tests this week. I think I've figured it out! Here's my initial test:

It became clear to me that I wasn't taking the janky lighting as seriously as I should. Seems like I should probably only use one lightsource, as they wouldn't be able to cram 5 different sources into a set like I am. So I made another test:

And I was thinking, maybe I could make something that looked like Cyberpunk 2077 promotional art in the style of those Pico Gakken games. Then I tried taking the materials they made the puppets with more seriously, looking carefully at closeups of the puppets:

Other than the shoes in this model, I think I'm starting to get it.

I've also been writing down more script ideas for  animations, and talking to voice actors. I got some quick 30sec animations planned out, and I'll be making those on the side to try to convince you guys to like my OCs more, lmao. Specifically I want you guys to like Noodls, so I made a more silly version of her that'll be fun to animate:
