Had a bit more than just a common household variety cold: Festive sinus infection :(

Also: Upgraded corexy belt drive components purchased over a month ago - not here yet. The grand laser compilation is ... challenged.

you need to push air through the nozzle, to protect your lenses and to get the smoke/debris out of the way so more energy can get into the target. also, I have to say it: this setup is too dangerous.

it's pretty gnarly isn't it? I am regretting not starting with a common k40 metal chassis so much. yeah I already have the air pump, but no suitable hose yet :\

Cool. Very cool. The way the smoke hits the lense though might be a sign that you need a blow nozzle. The other way is to enclose the entire thing and generate airflow over the entire working area. The Zing laser I use has both, and needs both. The nozzle is the most important because it also prevents the hot gases from inflicting damages to the surface of whatever is getting worked at.

You know, I bought that EXACT laser mirror/tube upgrade kit just a week ago. Are you going to release any STL or DXF parts?
