Keithley 2001 7.5 digit Multimeter Repair

DMM with Cable detector: https://goo.gl/Zz5KXV Donate for 2002 or 3458: https://www.patreon.com/marcoreps After being outbid on multiple occasions I finally got a high end Keithley 2001 7.5 digit multimeter. Like basically every other 2001 it suffers from leaking electrolytic capacitors. Good thing it stopped working at some point, otherwise the leaking might have gone unnoticed for a longer time, causing more damage to the PCB. In this video I'll clean up the spilled electrolyte, investigate why it stopped working and replace a lot of components before powering it up and comparing it to my other DMM s.

Hello Christoph Waltz! As always good content

It was 1/2 paid with patreon money, so thank you for making it possible :)

Hey Marco, what happened to the pressure mat? Are you still testing it?

marcoreps

No, I've delivered it to the software people, results can be expected next year I think

Nice electronics video! I don't want to criticize, but I don't really care about the Chinese stuff from previous videos, although they can be funny and interesting sometimes. Anyway, keep doing the great work you have always done (even with the Chinese stuff)!

Thanks! Interesting repairs and designs are what I enjoy the most, too. But the Chinese gadgets are great for publicity. Still trying to find a good balance ...
