Ahaha, idk man, some people say if it's in the opening it's meant to be seen, but it's better to learn new things while watching the show imo so I would always choose to avoid them.

Its because most Japanese people who watch the anime have already read the manga. Manga always comes first And it's where all the hype is. Anime usually comes out later and is just bonus content for fans. Because of that they don't have to worry spoilers so they can lure fans in by showing how different characters will look like and who will be involved in different seasons.

People online are saying Ivankov was based on Dr. Frank-N-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, although I'm not familiar with that character (but they look alike!).
