What a nice episode, probably one of the most satisfying so far!

Man, your excitement about this episode is infectious. I got a bit emotional watching this again. I really feel proud of Subaru. I love the type of character that he is (like Okabe) where his "superpower" is really just a curse that causes him more suffering than good, and it is his perseverance that allows him to succeed. It's so satisfying to watch him invoke the taboo on purpose to lure in the mabeasts (side note: I do prefer the translation “witchfiend” for the mabeasts, it sounds more epic. “Ma” is a prefix meaning witch that the subs leave untranslated) "Allow me to correct one idea you have" is basically Crush's catchphrase lol I’ve avoided explaining too many things from the novels besides basic worldbuilding for that reason. They cut a lot of foreshadowing out of S1 since they weren’t sure there would be another season, so they tried to make it as self-contained as possible. But with the show going to to S3 they will HAVE to bring back some of that cut content. Oh well, hopefully the YT commenters learn from this

I’d say clueless without bad intentions, they probably thought it was safe since chronologically it had already been revealed in the novels, but didn’t think that with the show gaining more seasons they will have to be bringing cut content back somehow for anime only watchers
