In case you didn't catch that. Helga is the daughter of the jomsvikings' chief so that's why he left Thors alone. The order to kill Thors was never given as he is considered part of Chief's family. There was no way that Floki would go against his chief and kill Thors, hence hiring Askeladd.

Also a fun fact. Askeladd's name comes from one of the most known characters in Norwegian Folktales "Askeladden". Also you were pronouncing it correct from the beginning. Japanese sometimes changes pronunciation to make it easier for them.
