LGR - Thrifts [Ep.32] Snowfall Sales

Join me as I go out thrifting, in search of games and interesting goods at various discount shops! It's all snowy outside, but that won't stop the urge to thrift for retro tech. ● Consider supporting LGR on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/LazyGameReviews ● Social links: https://twitter.com/lazygamereviews https://www.facebook.com/LazyGameReviews ● Here are the camera glasses I use: http://www.amazon.com/iVUE-Horizon-Camera-Recording-Sunglasses/dp/B00NAI092S Music is all royalty-free.

Another great episode! :D

Someone just woke up from his 10 years of scientology and was like "ohh...what happened...just get all of this stuff to goodwill".

Anonymous

Man Clint, in my six years of game collecting, you know how many Genesis games I've come across at Goodwill? Zero.

Anonymous

Thunder Force 2? That's a good one. Game Sack approved for sure. :P Also, I'm quite jelly over whoever found that TurboGrafx 16.

I noticed the Mac to the right of the imac, is actually an early Mac Pro, by looking at the connectors on the back, how they are arranged, for one the power connector is at the bottom of the back on actual G5s. Also the general I/O is spread across 1 vertical line.

"Shut up dog, I'm not bothering you." - The perfect response when you're adjusting your camera next to a Goodwill employee.

Thunder Force II! That is a sweet find - I'm probably in the minority, but I loved the overhead stages there (a lot of fans kind of don't, and are glad they were ditched for the third and subsequent games). That pocket recorder looks very lovely - regardless of whether it works or not, pretty stylish for its time, I'm sure!

"Shut up dog I'm not bothering you!" Haha! Good episode today.

Rallisport Challenge is such a great game, but i prefer the second game in the series as it has more cars, tracks and event types.

Nice snow. It was 82 degrees here yesterday.

LazyGameReviews

Was in the 70s here as well! This footage was filmed a while ago, as usual for this series :)

Seeing as they were ALL sealed, I do wonder if like, a local Scientology chapter or something just up and quit.

Nice finds, I really love the Equalizer! Have you managed to test it out yet?

LazyGameReviews

Yes indeed, seems to be working great! Even the bulb above the VU meter is still functioning

neuroflare

Clint, are you pre-filming early March for going to PAX East?

LazyGameReviews

Nah, I'm actually taking time *away* from LGR stuff for a little bit to recoup and see some friends I haven't seen in a while :)

Evan B

oh man.. that little tiny tape recorder... so awesome! Did it end up working?

Evangeline Domenech

That wasn't a Power Mac G5 in the beginning, it was a Mac Pro, likely a model 1,1. I got mine for about $150, but it wasn't spec'd as well as the one seen here and is in worse physical condition. Depending on when you look, the old 2006 Mac Pro systems will go for as little as $150, as much as $250.

It's been a while since I have been thrifting. It makes me want to go out again. Although, I swear you find better stuff than I do. Even if Goodwill is trying to take people to the cleaners on some stuff. Do they remember that it is a thrift store? oh well.

The best birthday gift! sweet!

Ahh, this makes me miss living in a place with real winter! Nice Thrifts episode.

I have a postage scale just like that little scale you found! 1968 Park Sherman :) Same design but the plastic on the side is black, and the labeling/turnywheel are in ounces and price for 1st class, airmail, 3rd class by weight. It's a cool little gizmo.

I hope to see more LGR Thrifts :D Also ome Oddware episodes as you got a load of quirky stuff from people sending your awesome but quirky stuff :D

Dude! Clint! Thank you for making these Thrifts videos! Last year I was bedridden with a knee injury and these videos helped give me a sense of movement and exploration. They definitely quelled some of my misery, so I'm very grateful, and that's why I became a backer today.
