Good review. I have never played a game boy console. My eyesight is just too bad to see the small items on the screen

Looked like nothing, but a plug for the company. Was a tad dissapointed

LazyGameReviews

Indeed, there's something to be said for things like the Gameboy Player on the Gamecube that let you play these games on a TV

LazyGameReviews

Well, as I said, that's kind of what it was! They asked if I'd like a product of theirs in exchange for mentioning their website, and I said why not? Same as I've done for AVerMedia, Corsair, Logitech, and others on my channel over the years. No money is exchanged so I'm allowed to speak freely on the subject to remain honest to my viewers, and they get exposure, so it's win-win.

I like the outro music on this video. :)

LazyGameReviews

Me too! I linked to it in the description of the YouTube video, definitely check it out as it's by a talented viewer of mine :)

Awesome, I want one now! :) By the way, how's the battery life with the back lighting, I wonder.

LazyGameReviews

From what I've read, the impact is minimal. It's still just keeping on after many hours on two AA's.

Now I want a video about Aardvarks

I agree, the GBA is one of the best form factors of any handheld. The SP has the back-lighting, but it just feels so cheap and breakable. I'm too scared of breaking my GBA to mod it, and I love the purple (plus I'm cheap) so I don't see myself buying a modded one. Man, that glass back-lit screen is beautiful, though. Guess I'll be stuck using the nyko telephone cord light peripheral forever :D

LazyGameReviews

I know there are some people out there that will mod your GBA for you, and it doesn't quite cost as much as this one :) I'd be too scared/lacking time to do the mod myself to be honest.

WHAT IS THIS WHY IS A CONSOLE ON HERE I DON'T EVEN BLAAAAAAAARGH!!! Nah, this video was good, and the GBA looks pretty good.

it's...beautiful...

Why Nintendo didn't stick to this type of design confuses me. The 90 deg angles they put on the sp and ds always hurt my hands after a short while.

I actually didn't liked the Advanced back there. But there where good reasons, for one the skreen gets be skratched and secondly it was not very comfortable for little hands, because I was still like 12 years old. But looking at it now you can put it in a pocket also the hands are allot bigger.

Was looking for getting one like that and wondered if that store any good. So great thanks for covering! Will probably get one now. Mostly because of backlit, and my GBA SP is really small for my hand. How is battery life affected by backlit display btw?

You saved my sanity.

Jazz Jackrabbit on the GBA, Commander Keen on the GBC... old PC shareware games NEVER translated well to the portable format. :P I actually have a mod kit I've never had a chance to use that I got for super-cheap that lets you alter a regular GBA so you can play it on a TV through composite video outputs. I really should pick up a regular old GBA at some point so I can try it out. :B

LazyGameReviews

Only shareware game that was any good on portables was Duke Nukem. Not a bad translation of Duke Nukem II! And yeah, that kind of mod sounds awesome. Though the Gameboy Player for the Gamecube works nicely for that as well :)

nice...after 30+ years of living in Pittsburgh I finally move and THEN I learn there's something cool there....

Pretty nice, I don't really have the funds to drop on something like this though. I do have my old GBA though, I should look into getting a mod kit at some point. I agree that the wide version just feels better than the SP ever did. It was only the back-light that made that the better model in the first place. Well, I suppose the flip cover helped protect the screen too, but I'd be OK without that.
