Greetings, all! It's been about five months since we last went through the mail and unboxed stuff. So it was high time we did just that! Especially since I'm (hopefully) closing on a new house in a matter of days and my time has been wildly limited. This made for a nice straightforward video for the week while I work on other things in the background.

And yeah, that means this is very likely the final unboxing video to be filmed in this location. Which is just nuts, I've had this space for like six or seven years or something... I'll be moving everything outta here in the coming weeks and months and setting it up all over again elsewhere. In multiple rooms with multiple sets, I'm stoked! Ahh, it's bonkers stuff. And incredibly overwhelming at the moment. But if all goes well, then expect future updates on new LGR location(s!)

I hope y'all enjoy the relaxed unboxing vibes in the meantime. My plan is to get another relatively simple video made for next week as well, but y'know. Depends on a whole host of variables at the moment.

Have a good week! I'm certainly going to try to myself, without somehow transforming into one giant ball of stress, heh. And thank you so much for the your support -- both as a patron and with these exceedingly generous donations :)

I always wondered if those high-res video captures worked even remotely as well as they claimed. ... always some still-life photo from (presumably) a video camera and they get these sharp, interlace-free images ... at least in the marketing shots.

I'm looking forward to the new house Clint! Have you thought of a name yet? The LGR Castle? LGR Bunker?

LazyGameReviews

Heh, I've actually been calling it the LGR Compound so far. Guess we'll see what sticks though.

I'd imagine in still life scenes with ideal lighting, it'd likely be pretty decent for the time. But yeah, I look forward to testing that kinda thing for myself! The capture device I used back in the early 2000s was truly terrible, haha

Looked up that flip clock on ebay and there just so happened to be a set of knobs up for sale that are undamaged! https://www.ebay.com/itm/234234236895

Congratulations! Hope the move goes well :-)

Hope you (en)joy stick dude. Sorry 😁 Those things at the bottom screw in and out for adjustment, which is kind-of neat for such a simple plastic thing. They've put some minor thought into it.

Oh man that neon nights record sounds awesome! I tried looking it up but couldn't find it online 😭 if anyone has a link, I'd super appreciate it! Hahaha

What an awesome collection of "stuff"!

LazyGameReviews

Thanks again, I look forward to covering it! "Minor thought" is a step beyond a number of things on Oddware at least

Congrats on the new house, Clint! Totally understandable if you need to take time away to deal with stress.. moving to an apartment is stressful enough, i can't imagine a whole house move

If you're interested in a Mac Plus for free to either borrow or keep (down the road; I know moving is the priority right now), mine would be honored to join you! It is, however, an upgraded 128 (or perhaps 512)K, as it says "Macintosh Plus" on the back but not the front. 4MB RAM, a working floppy drive, a bizarre aftermarket keyboard, and one of those "System Saver" fan things. Just let me know anytime if you're interested. And thank you for another deeply enjoyable delve into assorted vintage tech! These unboxing videos are wonderful after a long workday of...boxing things!

I didn't really understand why you collected these religious software things, but now it makes more sense to me :) I love that Surround station :D

In terms of how long Acorn Archimedes computers were used in schools, I remember using at least some sort of Acorn RiscOS system in as late as 1999 in an international school in Europe that followed the UK school system, so I think they must have hung around for quite some time
