So I've been away on an unplanned trip for about a week, but I'm back home now and jumped right into working on this one. Got the review code before I left but yeah, life has been absolutely surreal lately, haha.

Probably gonna post this on Monday and then put something else together real quick before I leave yet again. Will be going to LA for E3 in June, more on that as it draws closer!

Cities Skylines Campus Review

Hope all is well re travels! I am not sure more expansion packs can make me have renewed interest in Skylines :(

LazyGameReviews

Yeah this one really didn't excite me too much either, as noted in the review. Decent pack for sure, but it's like... I dunno. Just kinda there.

I think they need a rise of the robots pack, where you build some AI facilities, and eventually they start pumping out wearable devices and robots who eventually enslave all the people of the town. Then you could have another pack where you build military bases to fight the AI. Then finally the game ends like season I of the 80's classic TV show, Sledgehammer where the entire city is nuked. Just my thoughts on how they could get to Cities II in a way that makes sense.

Hope you enjoy E3 I'm excited to see some more info about links Awakening the hype is real!

I wonder if Pack 9 will be a hospital pack, with the exact same mechanic for sprawling health centers. Hope not, but it seems like low hanging fruit on Colossal Order's part.

LazyGameReviews

Would not be surprised. Or even military bases, a common enough sight in SimCity but not so much in Skylines! Yet.

If Paradox reads your Patreon chat, they should know you and you alone were the reason I purchased cities skylines and own all the expansions! Thanks for the review! I'll have to play another game sometime but I'm currently engrossed in Surviving Mars! Ever thought of trying that game out?

I'd be interested to see Clint's opinion on Surviving Mars. ...also House Flipper. :)

Oof, a travel agent school in 2019? Maybe travel agents are still a thing in Finland???

This one is... Meh. Again with the same formula and I find it weird, as a Mayor, to be micromanaging stuff like campuses. They need to come up with something different. Not that the game is boring though. Well, hope you have fun at E3!

I've always thought that Cities was missing a little character. The bones are there for a great game, but it's always lacking character like the sims games. What it could really use is events, and individuals. For example, a mayor, a city manager, a parks manager, staff you have to manage that actually live in your city and have advantages and disadvantages. Events like parades, VIP visits, stuff like that could really flesh the game out!

I'm a little bit concerned that Cities Skylines 2 will turn out like the Sims series where all of the features from the first are then, again, resold as expansion packs.

I loved the "Rushed Script District" being very quickly erased. There's a story there swiftly gotten rid of

I worked on a campus for about 8 years and when I saw the last couple shots you included with the sunrise illuminating the buildings, the first thing I noticed were the stairs leading up to the door and I thought "hey that's not ADA compliant"
