Clemente d'Angelo

Yeeeeeee!!! I Miss too Much this wonderful series.

Anonymous

Oh how I've missed you, Thrifts.

Anonymous

Jolly good. It's been a while!

Anonymous

Thank you Clint for the video. My day started pretty sh*tty and this is just what the doctor ordered!

Anonymous

Aw man I missed the goodwill fashion show!

Anonymous

I called that socks pun

Peter Metzger

so at 1:26 there's a reflection of someone's foot moving across from the glass case, and the first time I saw it I thought there was a cat inside the glass case :o

I haven't clicked on a link in an e-mail faster since my Nigerian Prince brother promised me a payback.

that acer monitor behind the eagle air purifier is a POS. I have it somewhere. it's a VA monitor with a ton of ghosting. the shit quality VA panel (vertical alightment, there are decent budget VA monitors, not that one though) gives a weird screen door effect I've never had on any other desktop monitor short of old CRTs

Peter Metzger

"I don't need this, right?" FALSE. YOU NEED THIS.

Anonymous

I hope you can fix the door on that CD-i machine. I hate to admit that I had one of those, even with the MPEG module installed.. and I threw it in the trash in the early 2000s because nobody wanted it. I had no use for it because I had bought a DVD player that was backwards compatible with VideoCDs so it was just taking up space in the closet. I wish I had it back now.

HURRAY!! One of my most favourite things to find in my inbox :D

That Laserdisk bundle is worth way, way more than 750.

Robert Butler

Always love seeing Thrifts! And I was salivating at the CLD-D701. Oh well, I'll eventually make my own LD collection.

avfusion

Take your dollar back. That stone swindled the heck out of you.

Thanks for bringing back my attention to thrift shops. I looked around my area and there's a lot of them. I found incredible I never knew I wanted, including the best ever vintage coffee machine. Sometimes I need the reminder that you don't need a lot of money to get yourself nice things - and it's great that stuff that would be thrown otherwise away gets a second life. So thanks again for this - and happy thrifting!

avfusion

Hey Clint, would do you think about possibly fundraising and doing like a thrift-across-the-US sorta thing?

Anonymous

Do you have any CD-i games that you can play on that thing? Or, maybe now that you have a console, you can get some games if you can find them at Goodwill.

Rachel Staddon

Did you go back for the Laserdisc set?

Anonymous

Man, even with never having Laserdisc in my life... $750 for a practically brand new player and tons of software.... VERY tempting. :P

Anonymous

8:13: Cwock is bwinking twelve! :D

Anonymous

Holy crap man, that Laser Disc deal is pretty sweet, you should seriously consider it! I'd hop onto it in a split second!

Anonymous

I hereby authorize you to purchase the Laser Disc collection! 🤪 Seriously though, I wonder how much you could make back by selling the discs individually (if there's some good stuff in there)...

Ossi K

Be careful if that camera uses "8 pin UC-E6 like-mini-usb" since there ain't standard pinout of these. I fried one action cam by using fujifilm camera's cable.

Sweet video man. We used to have a junk shop in our town for a while - it didn't stock anything nearly as interesting, apart from the odd computer peripheral and this gawdy mug (<a href="https://i.imgur.com/IrwradS.jpg)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://i.imgur.com/IrwradS.jpg)</a> - however I did find a lot of odd VHS tapes in there which I loved. What I like about junk shops is that you can often get a really sweet bargain. The camera you picked up looks very similar to a Technika model that I had... which I have now found on UK eBay <a href="https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Technika-SH-550T-Digital-Camera/123108384308?hash=item1ca9d4de34:g:uGsAAOSwZpRavput" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Technika-SH-550T-Digital-Camera/123108384308?hash=item1ca9d4de34:g:uGsAAOSwZpRavput</a> problem is i'm almost certain it used a normal USB output :/

Eric Simmons

Our family had that exact fold out GE entertainment center when I was a kid. I was on a USCG ship that had the same shredder. It worked very well. Thanks, Clint.

Anonymous

Buy the laserdisc set! you could probably sell off a few of the individual discs just to make up the purchase price :)

Anonymous

The only time I ever seen a CD-I was at a car dealership in the 90's. It showed some information about the cars and some low res images.

Anonymous

hah I hope you went and got your dollar back.

Vance

The junk shop impressive.

LazyGameReviews

This one uses something like USB-Mini4P, but it's a little smaller. That camera there looks much nicer, relatively speaking :)

Anonymous

Man, got myself a very similar model of CD-i on eBay a while back for a LOT more than $4. Since got myself one hell of a game collection too, including the famed Mario and Zelda games.

evistre

Yesssss! I love the Thrifts episodes. My fiance does too. Usually I watch when you post these on Patreon, he watches once they're on YouTube, and I have to watch them *again* to chatter about them with him, because he's always excited about something you saw. I'm super jealous of the HiFi stuff in that junk shop! I want to dig around in there.

Tktagmedia

Deadpool 2 *AND* a new LGR Thrifts on the same night? It isn't even my birthday!

Anonymous

Thanks for the video, these ones are one of my favourites, you've definitely made me go thrifting far more than I ever did. And my finds got a 2 second cameo too, bonus! (Sports Car GT/HL2 bundle)

Anonymous

"This really socks" :D

BUY THE LASER DISC COLLECTION

Anonymous

Why does the bike not have any brakes?

Anonymous

Porn is "edutainment" right? Buy those laser dics..I mean discs!

Anonymous

you should totally go get the laser disk collection

moosemaimer

If it's anything like the BMX bikes we had back in the day, the brake is activated by pushing backwards on the pedals.

Anonymous

In my experience Betamax players are almost always dead. The head and tape return systems are pretty fragile

Anonymous

Do it.

4 questions for you Clint: 1. How do you know/trust that your film glasses are filming? 2. Would you do a video simply on film glasses, how they work, what they're best for in your videos etc 3. Regarding filming in public/in shops, do you have any issues, do you normally ask or just go for it? 4. What car do you drive? Is it a Dodge Viper?

The sword is a cheap display unit, not designed for use in any capacity beyond decoration. They're not safe to use, but the price lets people hang them about a room for ambiance.

I love that the X-10 timer is completely wood-grain. Perfect!
