- Take it easy Daniel. I think it's important that you have enough energy and spirit when you do your reactions. Better to take a break than to overwork and lose quality which might lead to negative consequences. - "Why am I having so much trouble with her name?". Well, it might have something to do with your lack of sleep 😬. But secondly, a small tip: don't worry about last names (surname/familyname). It's already difficult enough as it is. So, instead of "Choi Myung-hee", just focus on "Myung-hee". ("Choi" in particular might be hard/weird for english speakers, since it's pronounced like "Chweh" or "Cheh").

These double consonants (최, 츼, 취) are really, really tough to get correctly. 'Hui' (휘) already has been an issue, it seems. Those are sounds that cannot be adequately reproduced with English sounds. Doesn't help, that the romanization is pretty far off in theses cases. When I started looking into hangul, I, too, was shocked about certain family names. Like that it should be 'Ee' instead of 'Lee', 'Bak' instead of 'Park'.

Exactly. I mean, the good part about Hangul is that all vowels are always pronounced the same. Unlike English (tour/pour, but/put, etc). So we don't need inconsistent romanization to mess that up 😠 According to kprofiles and wiki, "Hui" seems to be spelled as "후이" ("Hoo-ee") though, instead of "휘" ("Hwi"). So I don't think his name is that difficult actually. It's just whether to pronouce a "w" in the middle (Hoo-ee vs Hoo-wee). JooE (주이) from Momoland chose her romanized name to be without a "w". And I think "Hui" also leans more towards no "w".

Ah, should have taken the 2 minutes to look it up at kprofiles. Thanks for the correction, now I don't know why someone complained about dg, his pronunciation seemed mostly correct.

Ah yes, but I only focused on the vowel sounds here. So I avoided all the yu, yeo, yo, ya, yae, ye as well as the wa, wo, wi, wae, we. Jiu does always confuse me though. Like you pointed out, it is written as 지유, so the romanization should be "Jiyu". Then there's also NMIXX's Jiwoo, whose name is 지우, so her romanization should actually be "Jiu" 😅. So not only is there the "oo" again, but also an added "w". Which brings us back to Hui (Hoo-wee) 😅.

- Honestly, take as much time as you need with this show. I'm probably not the only one who would be totally fine with you just doing one episode per week for the entire show and finishing it in 20 weeks. Just do whatever feels right for you. Maybe you could also do a shorter show somewhere down the line to kind of balance it out. Squid Game is only 9 episodes for example. We can take this a step further. There's this character called U-yeong in this show. Which is written as 우영 in Hangul. You know who else is written like that? Wooyoung from Ateez. 우 (u) is often transcribed as "woo" when used in names. Other examples are Boys Planet Jongwoo (Jong-u), everyone named Woojin (U-jin), The Boyz Sunwoo (Seon-u). But don't confuse the last one with Sunoo from Enhypen. The Korean spelling (and pronounciation) might be identical (선우) but the latter omits the W from his romanised spelling. In conclusion, the standard rules of romanisation just don't apply to names. Complaining about what the romanisations "should be" is kinda pointless.
