This was ALOT but worth it, again, apologies if I didn't include every single group/artist or missed a performance by an artist that I did end up reacting to.

Again, quite late with this comment as I am just now watching through your Skz reactions here on Patreon. Thank you for sharing what kpop and music in general mean to you. For me also Skz has had a quite important effect. I do have a very happy life with many dear and important people in it, and most of the basic stuff is in order. However, I have been having some not-so-great stuff happen to me fairly recently (actually started already few years ago but got worse more recently). Nothing like super, super bad, but bad enough that I would be very down if I didn't have something else to focus on (I mean, I do go to work etc. but in the free time I need something to really get immersed in). Last spring I started watching k-dramas (It's ok to not be ok was one of the first ones, loved it) and they helped quite a lot. But it was always a little sad when a series I was very invested in ended and I had to find a new one. I think I needed something more permanent. Last fall I finally started to use Instagram for something other than just watching my friends stories (yeah, just a little late 😁) and started to watch random reels. Of course the algorithms knew that I liked South Korean things so snippets of this one song started to pop up in those reels. It sounded so catchy that finally I checked out the MV (Case 143), and then I watched the MV about 50 times more in the next few days (not exaggerating 😁). I can admit that I fell for the Felix trap, but it was also just how good and catchy the song was. Then I checked out few more MVs and then I was like maybe I'll just try to learn the members names. And I have been on this ride (or drive, ehehe) since then, just consuming all their own content and reaction/analysis videos, compilations, performance videos etc. This from a background of never having listened to any k-pop before. Obviously I did know of BTS and Blackpink, but I never listened to them. This whole k-pop world still feels very new to me. And I have never been a fan of anything on this level as I am now of Skz, not even close. It gives me so much, they have brought the joy of music back to my life (I did listened to some great bands before, but I was kinda stuck, mostly just listening to bands I had started listening in my teens), they also gave me joy of dancing (I mean, I am not a good dancer with my two left feet and no body control, but I still have my own dance parties eg. in the kitchen when I'm cooking) and, as I said, they work as a nice distraction from some of the bad stuff in my life. I know it might sound like I'm just running from my problems and not dealing with them, but these things are such in nature that there is really nothing to be done (or what can be done I am doing, of course) and just mulling over these things does not do any good. I can count on Skz to make me feel better and take my mind of other stuff. For now, I only listened to Skz. Not because I don't think other groups would be good, quite the opposite. I have huge amount of respect for all k-pop groups, the amount of work and talent that goes into it is incredible. And watching shows like Kingdom really make me want to check out other groups too, but I stop myself because I feel that if this is the level that I can fall for a group, I cannot take the risk of some other group also demanding my time like this 😁 I already spent the vast majority of my free time on Skz content, I don't think I would have time to sleep if there were other group/groups. Maybe some day, probably. Btw, not really related to this video specifically, but Back Door is one of my favorites also. Top 5 definitely, although I think I would have hard time if I were to try actually rank Skz songs. Streetlight does hit me on very personal level (I'm getting a tattoo based on it in few weeks) so that would probably have to be #1, although it isn't actually a Skz song but Changbins solo (ft. Bang Chan). Sorry for the long comment, completely understand if no-one gets all the way to the end of this 😁 Just felt like sharing.

Thank you so much for the reaction! I watched these for the first time with you and it was worth the wait! BTW your bias in IVE's name is Yujin. It was funny because in the collab stage it transitioned from CLC Yujin to IVE Yujin.

I am amazed by the talent of all the new artists released this year. - completely in love with bands like IVE, LESSERAFIM or NEW JEANS. - I'm also very happy for (G)IDLE who had a fantastic year. they are clearly and their achievements and trophies prove that they are one of the top 3 GG in activity this year with IVE and BLACKPINK. - glad that SOYEON finally gets all the recognition it deserves. -several very good performance. TXT, STRAY KIDS, J-HOPE and (G)IDLE released the most creative performances. -the collab between the 5 rookie GGs was incredibly cute and adorable. I had a huge smile throughout the performance. - I knew that the BIBI & HYOLIN collab was the performance that DG expected the most with SKZ. - congratulations to all the MAMA winners and especially to IVE who accomplished a real feat, they broke the bank 4 awards at MAMA and 11 awards in the last 3 awards ceremony of this year including 2DAESANG. If you count their 37 music show wins and their 2.8 million cumulative sales of their 3 single albums, that makes IVE the most successful ROOKIE GG in history. they join the very closed club of rookies who received major prizes during their year of debut club composed of (miss-A and 2NE1). - little disappointment not to see a group like ATEEZ which has a very good year in the MAMAs shocks me. I also honestly thought that SKZ was going to win the award for best boy group this year given the impressive number of MV's they released and their very good album sales. BTS had a relatively quiet year and their comebacks didn't really hit the mark this year. I think it would have been fair to give this price to SKZ. -for BLACKPINK once again absent from the ceremony awards they nevertheless received 3 awards

it's funny because 3 amoung my top 5 GG win the girl groupe of the year in the 3 major ceremony awards (G)IDLE win the girl group of the year in GMA , IVE win the girl group of the year in MMA and BLACKPINK win girl group of the year in MAMA

Why haven't I been active in the comments? Well that's maaaybe because I am in Japan and maaaybe went to the MAMA awards (plus a holiday with my partner) Yes I was somewhere in the crowd!! 😜😜 Love seeing everyone dance/sing along with KARA - KARA being idols to the idols Nicole Jung reminds you of Hyolyn, for me it like a mix of Hyolyn and Yves (from Loona) I was most emotional during the performance (Also KARA being one of the most successful kpop groups in Japan) A little translation of Soyeon rap during the I-DLE performance.... "What award will you give us this year, MAMA? You know who we are the syndrome of the year. We reject specially made awards. New generation, we took over this generation" Yep she dissed them during her rap 🤣🤣

I wanted to watch the performances on my own time but after I reacted to the MMA award stages I felt like it would be a shame if I didn't react to these performances too :)

2023-06-18 14:16:09 When I watched this I felt a lot of camera work was so poorly done. So many zoomed out shots where you can't see anything, etc. But like in MMA I loved the Augmented Reality. Intro - Loved Somi's and LeeJung's medley. (LeeJung is a dancer known from Street Woman Fighter). - The camera was so bad during Soyeon's part. A close up of the gate? And when she pushed that button, what happened? Camera was still on Soyeon... - Thank you for pointing out the Dreamcatcher mention. I hadn't noticed before. KARA - Loved seeing them, and also the reactions from the audience (like Kep1er) because most of them probably grew up listening to KARA. The idols of the idols. J-Hope - "This song sounds even better live". I agree Treasure - One of the best performances of this MAMA. - The part where 1 guy comes down from above with a lift was weird to me, because the rest were like "we are not gonna wait for you, f*ck that". NMIXX - Weird intro: throw shabby dice, wait, wait some more, etc. - Little did we know that their mix-style songs actually are very well suited for shows like this! Girl groups stage - Funny that they showed Yujin (Kep1er), and you went "ahh Yujin", and then followed by Yujin (IVE) :D - "This song really cheers you up". Nice. I see what you did there. - Feels good to see some ex-IZ-One members perform together again. Bibi - It's a very little thing but I really liked how she snatched that microphone from her dancer in the beginning :) NewJeans - "I'm never invited". When Soojin left I felt that the "sexy" role got dumped on Shuhua, but now she's rocking it. Stray Kids - I didn't like the tube that Felix was in. - Great live vocals - Hyunjin headbanging. Almost three hours? Let's see if I can do this in one sitting or if I have to split it up for myself. And I don't really have time tomorrow, I'm going to see Blackpink 😅 I will be skipping over the artists that I'm not familiar with yet, just to not spoil myself on their music. So no Zico, DKZ or Kara for me today. That makes it 20 minutes shorter for me at least. Jeon Somi: Yeah, she doesn't really release much music, not that many opportunities to check her out I can already see the Mnet style of live editing of showing (non) reactions instead of the performance and I am immediately annoyed. That was 6 minutes?!? Damn. j-hope: Wow, Future was wonderful. This reminds me, I wanted to check out his full performance at Lollapalooza. The live version of More is insanity. Agreed, Arson hits different. Enhypen: Yeah, I talked about them under the MMA reaction already. Music Bank in Paris is looking tempting. Treasure: VolKno is just one of the best things that happened in Kpop this year. And that rock remix of Jikjin?! Holy shit. Ok, as I predicted, I wasn't able to finish this in one sitting, not even close. Got back from the Blackpink concert last night and man, what a show. But back to MAMA. NMIXX: Ok, this is weird because between me starting this video and now, JYP announced the sudden departure of Jinni and I do not understand why... Dice is just a much better execution than O.O in my opinion. My issue with their debut was never the switchup, I just straigt up do not like the beginning and ending of the song. That first chorus in particular is just very grading to me. Dice doesn't have that issue. The mixing is still rough but overall it's a much more enjoyable song. Here's an interesting case: Sticker by NCT 127. Extremely polarising song. Whenever you get around to it you'll probably understand why. I LOVE it. But there is this group of people who are convinced that it's impossible to actually enjoy this song and everyone who says that they like it are either lying or have „stockholm syndromed“ themselves into liking it just because they stan NCT. No bitch, that's not how it works! I genuinely enjoy weird shit like this and I loved Sticker from the first listen. Anyone who knows me will know that I am quite honest about my music opinions so I'm not just talking nonsense because I love NCT. There's plenty of NCT songs I'm not into. Just leave me and my weird child Sticker alone. Yeah, I still don't like O.O but Dice was just made a lot more awesome by this live version! Collabs: Of course we're starting with Sana's iconic „shy shy shy“. What else I loved it. But someone needs to put an aww-counter on your reaction because you say it quite a lot :D Understandable tho. Bibi: Come on, they had to censor the 년 out of 나쁜년? Because that's a bAd WoRd and we cannot have that in a TV broadcast? The song sounds so off with literally 1/3 of the chorus censored. Reminds me a bit of how BMTH's Teardrops was massacred in the soundtrack for Forza Horizon 5. Half of the song was turned into an instrumental because besides the obvious F-bombs, apparently words like „oh god“, „suicidal“, „antichrist“ and even the phrase „high as a kite“ are too naughty to put into a racing game. At this point just choose a different song ffs. The performance of Bibi Vengeance is still great but the censoring here kinda ruins the song for me. Thanks, I hate it. „I wish she was allowed to perform more songs“ What I thought at every group at Kpop Flex leaving after four songs. That collab with Hyolyn though, holy- NewJeans: Really cool remixes and yes, for a group that just came out of nowhere, they are incredible! Kep1er: No words. Just, if I don't see them live at least once in the 19 months they have left, I will be very sad. Le Sserafim: no thoughts, only ANTITITITIFRAGILEFRAGILE i need help this is turning into an obsession TXT: Alright, we going orchestral, got it. If you didn't know, Opening Sequence is the first song (not just intro, it's a full song) on the album that was released with Good Boy Gone Bad. And in terms of their albums, The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape (the one with Loser Lover) might be my favourite Kpop album of 2021. Top 5 at least. These boys are SERIOUS about their music. Lonely Boy is another bside to GBGB. God damn, the visual style of that GBGB stage looks like something Carpenter Brut would put into his music videos. WHAT IN THE EVERLIVING FUCK WAS THIS DANCE BREAK ITZY: Oh man, Cheshire is my favourite Itzy title since Wannabe. Maybe ever. And holy crap, this live stage makes it even better. IVE: You seem to have a thing for girls named Yujin :D (G)I-DLE: Looking respectfully 👀 This is a very cliche thing to say but these girls were born to be on stage. Soyeon was my gateway into this wonderful genre and I will forever be thankful to her for that. It's amazing to see them get the recognition they deserve. Stray Kids: I feel sorry for all the people with arachnophobia :D AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Stray Kids once again proving that they are the motherfucking best boy group on this godforsaken planet. Noone compares. NO. ONE. God damn it, they're coming to Paris in April but it's gonna be at the kind of festival that boots the groups off the stage after only four songs. THAT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR STRAY KIDS. I need the full 26 song experience they brought on their Maniac Tour. Ugh, why did they have to skip Europe? Kpop didn't save my life but it made it a whole lot better. I will always be a huge metalhead but I gotta say, in terms of the people I meet at concerts, I vibe with the Kpop crowd a lot more than with the Metal crowd. Personality wise they seem so much closer to my own. Of course I still go to Metal concerts (Nightwish was incredible!) but it's the Kpop shows that have built friendships for me. And it's always fun to meet the same people again and again at different shows. Like when I showed up early at the venue for Dreamcatcher in Berlin, there were just two other people there: a guy whom I had already spent the day waiting for Pixy in Cologne a month earlier and his girlfriend. And a lot of the people that showed up after me were also at the Pixy show. It's an amazing community.
