For a lot of games that supports TAA, I can easily replace TAA with DLAA.

Making a DLSS mod is harder and will take time, but only supporting DLAA will take way less time.

So maybe with games that only have TAA it can still be useful.

And when I have more time I can extend DLAA mod into DLSS mod.

I've already made a mod that can replace any game's DLSS with DLAA, for those who want the most image quality and got more than enough GPU power. I just haven't released it yet.

EDIT: Some people misunderstood what this vote was for, let me explain it.

Implementing DLAA is kind of the first step of implementing DLSS, either way I'll have to first implement DLAA then find a way to lower the render resolution to implement DLSS.

So I was asking if it would make more sense to release the early build that only support DLAA cuz maybe people with enough GPU power still can fiddle around with it, but this doesn't mean I will stop implementing DLSS.

Is DLAA only for Nvidia gpus? I'm guessing it is, considering.

Yes absolutely. While I've enjoyed experimenting with DLSS, it's been very hit or miss with me. it flickered in the periphery on the skyrim VR mod. And with 2d skyrim at 4k, while I liked pushing skyrim with DLSS, DLAA is what i settled with because the picture quality was so much better. And same with fallout 4. Dlaa in in another league altogether and makes the game premium. It's true that mods like enb are ridiculously unoptimized, so they benefit from DLSS. However in practice what dlaa adds to the image is a lot more clean and gives a lot more depth, detail, and stability than most enb mods do anyway. If you can find ways to attach DLAA to games instead of TAA, rather than take a lot longer trying to get DLSS working. I say go for DLAA every day of the week. It's rare in existing games libraries and it raises the bar in terms of IQ. Great examples are games like elder scrolls online, where DLAA is by far and away one of the games defining visual features and elevates the entire package and look of the game dramatically. Whereas the other upscaling modes are a sidestep. I'll find some examples of games with TAA that would benefit from the DLAA treatment just off the top of my head. - Just cause 3 and 4 (smaa t2x) - (Most unreal engine 4 games) - Shadow Warrior 2 - Death Stranding Directors Cut (already has dlss) - Red Dead Redemption 2 (Very flawed versions of dlss) - Marvels Guardians of the galaxy (has dlss) - Assassins Creed Origins, Odyssey, and ragnorok. - ELEX 1 and 2 (smaa t2x) - Farcry 4, Farcry primal, farcry 5, farcry 6 - Forspoken - Dead Space Remake And lot's more.

That being said. The work you area also doing on fallout 4 is god tier stuff. Fallout 4 always had very distracting TAA. The degree of visual noise you cleared up with DLAA in that game was astonishing. I feel that dlss is a great option for anything that has big modding fanbases. Because it gives that extra gpu headroom. Anything that's just a normal ass game that isnt one of the most modded in history like skyrim, DLAA is perfect.

Im here for DLSS only, its super sharp already and the performance boost is out of this world

I am not denying the possibility of extending a DLAA mod into DLSS mod, I am just asking if it would make more sense to release a DLAA mod first since it takes way less time, and then I take more time to implement DLSS. Cuz if I go for DLSS from the start it would take much more time before I can release it.

sounds good, can't we just use vrperfkit to mimic dlss more so while waiting for dlss if enough ppl request it, it'd be great to mess around with dlaa while waiting for dlss aswell.

Sure, if fullscreen with ENB is possible.

Eliotte

FiveM GTA V possible ? :D

I don't think most of the people voting realize that DLAA will reduce framerates, unlike DLSS Which will increase them.

Anonymous

No don't do it! This will ruin many of our frame rates!

PureDark

I don't think you understand how DLAA and DLSS are connected and what this vote was for.

I completely understand that DLAA does not help framerates. But most people that are patrons do as well because we actually value the visual impact these things have as well. DLAA is the best form of antialiasing that exists. It's better than supersampling that costs 10x more computing. So in a sense you are saving framerates. You are just saving them on a higher form of iq level. Oh yeah, puredark. One game that REALLY needs it hit me today. Fallout 76. That game has more blurry visuals than fallout 4's TAA. And that's saying something.

Nicholas Rush

Isn't this what you're doing already, though? DLAA = free on Nexus/etc and then DLSS via Patreon? It makes sense to continue releasing mods with the iteration of DLAA > DLSS. I will be waiting for the DLSS implementation step, because I'm more concerned about saving power.

Nicholas Rush

Completely agree re: Fallout 76. I personally find that ReShade with DELC sharpening really helps with a lot of games that suffer from blurry visuals, especially if you couple it with LumaSharpen.

PureDark

Not really, the one on Nexusmods also supports DLSS/FSR2/XeSS, it's just based on DRS thus not compatible with ENB.

Mat wilson

If we can afford it. Dldsr at a higher resolution with a low percentage smoothness can sharpen an image like nothing else because it's using ai sharpening. That being said. Dlaa offers that kind of quality without 50% more load.

I'd love DLAA. It's the main reason I use the upscaler plugin for Skyrim VR.

I would love to see support for fallout new vegas. Mainly because ENBs dont have support for antialiasing.
