Finally fixed wrongly cropped magic sfx in magic menu.

Compatibility with newest ReShade.

If you downloaded the old zip and got crash, download again.

The new file contains Hotfix1 postfix.

INSTALLATION

  1. Install as any other SKSE plugin, using MO2 or Vortex would be the best way.
  2. Turn off TAA and DOF, anything that will blur the input for upscalers must be turned off.
  3. Turn off ENB Edge AA and DOF (If you play at high enough resolution you can still try to use ENB's DOF, but if you can't stand the jittery just turn it off).
  4. Press END in the game to open the menu for upscalers.
  5. (Optional) Install Reshade for DOF and other effects, since it applies its effects after the upscaling. I recommand the CinematicDOF with aperture set to 12-15, and focal length around 90,  and near plane max blur 0.2.
  6. (Optional) Use SSE ReShade Helper to make DOF not affect UI.
  7. Note that you can't change upscaler and quality level at runtime, you'll need to change it in the ini and restart the game.

IMPORTANT: If you are using SSE Display Tweaks, open SSEDisplayTweaks.ini and set Fullscreen = false and BorderlessUpscale = false. Remember to remove the # before them or they won't take effect.

If you are not using it, set bFull Screen = 0 in SkyrimPrefs.ini

There are two known conflics, one is detection meter, you can solve it by updating DM to v17.

The other one is Improved Camera, you can solve the conflic by editing its ini, set its menu mode to 0.

Hello PureDark, When I use the lates upscaler with dlss i cannot see my book and lockpick UI, i cant see the books but i can turn the invisible pages, i can see the pick but not the lock.

How do you properly install this and have it work with an ENB? All ENB's I've tested don't work, and lead to a stuttery menu that never loads.

PureDark

Is it only happening with this build? Does 06 work as intended? And have your tried creating a new MO2 profile and test on it?

为什么我使用时看起来异常的模糊?

Hey ! Why do reshade doesnt work after installing ?

Anonymous

so I ve just installed it and I can t see any difference before installing it. People are talking about gains of numbers like 20 fps. I can t see any difference worth saying

PureDark

You need to know whether you were getting CPU bottleneck. Just check your GPU usage, if it's below 99% it's likely you are limited by CPU, and this mod cannot boost your FPS in that case. What it can do however, is allowing you to improve your image quality without losing FPS, since you are getting some extra GPU headroom.

There is a new version of nvngx_dlss.dll. It is 3.1.1. Will it help, hurt, or not make any differene if I replace 2.5 which you have in your mod?

PureDark

They are binary compatible, you can update to the newest dll to get the best image quality.

Hi PureDark. I don't want to bother you but I'm just curious. Do you intend to release a new version for Skyrim SE soon?

PureDark

I have something in mind for it, like compatibility with doodlez's Playground and his motion blur. But I can only do it after FO4Upscaler is stable and no longer need me to update it. I'll start working on an update for SkyrimUpscaler sometime at the end of this month, feel free to unsubscribe and only subscribe when I update it.

I followed all the directions to a T but when I activate the upscaler all it does is disable my ENB completely. Is that supposed to be what it does?

quick question? Does the version of the Nvidia Dlss.dll downloaded on the site referenced by the nexus mods page need to be a specific version for this to work? I currently have 2.5.1, but i'm not noticing any real fps gain. My PC is pretty beefy, tough i do have a 1000+ modlist which is certainly the main cause of fps loss. I checked for any CPU bottleneck, but all my parts should work well together. Did i perhaps install it wrong?

PureDark

Patreon version is all-in-one package, you only need to install this. For no FPS gain, check your GPU usage, if it drops, you are getting CPU bottleneck, and DLSS can't really boost your FPS in CPU dense area. But you can use that extra GPU power to improve your image quality, like using heavier ENB preset, add more GPU heavy mods instead of CPU heavy ones.

Anyone know if this works with modlists? Like Aldrnari?

God I'm so in love with you PureDark, u saved my sad pathetic life :D

When I check the ingame UI it shows my resolution is going to 1280 x 720 how can I change that? I want to upscale my game to 4k. The resolution settings are missing from my SkyrimUpscaler.ini

PureDark

You need to set the game's resolution to 4k, then change the quality level settings. As for what the render resolution is for each quality level, you can google it.

Thanks, I did that but the issue I'm getting is since I disabled Fullscreen in ssedisplaytweaks.ini when I run the game it shows up cropped on both of my monitors instead of my main monitor only. Is there a way to force it onto my main monitor only?

Anonymous

Followed the instructions exactly as shown but now I just CTD when the game launches... What could be the issue?

Bro I love you so much - I've been subbed for the last few months but haven't had time to make this work. Just following your clear steps I made it work and holy shit did this mod deliver - the game looks soooo crisp at DLSS quality now, and I have a stable 40-60 fps on a fully decked out Elysium setup :DDDD You are a magician bro.

Anonymous

Got the mod working but it isn't stretching full screen, is there anything i'm doing wrong. Using Project Skyrim modlist which has SSE edit.

PureDark

You need to set the game's resolution to your monitor resolution, and choose a quality level in this mod's ini file.

I just subbed to use this. I am in absolute awe. I have been modding skyrim since it came out, and Oblivion before that, and I have never seen a tool that can truly boast increasing performance so strongly with negligible visual impact. I'm playing on an RTX 3080, AMD 5800x3d, and at 4k. I'm loaded up with texture mods, and I'm using Rudy ENB and Dyndolod ultra trees. I would sometimes drop down to 15-20 fps outdoors. Now, using the Balanced preset, I am getting a solid 60. This is astounding.

Anonymous

Absolutely glorious, thank you! Went from 55-ish to 92-ish in 4k with a 12900k and 3080 Ti using the Quality preset and 96.4 FOV, with Rudy ENB and around 370 mods. Including some very script heavy ones, athough I'm not sure if that would be more of a CPU strain than something DLSS would help with. Either way, thank you! Instructions worked out of the box for me, but I had to manually go into the .ini and indicate '0' to get DLSS to work instead of FSR2, but other than was so simple!

Thank you so much for saving my PC performance!

THANKS BRO I LOVE YOU MY FPS IS EVEN BETTER I LOVE YOU I HOPE YOU WIN 500K
