Dogson has had some bad luck with illness lately. First there was the flu, which he recently recovered from, but now he's fallen ill from food poisoning (bad salad at a barbecue). It’s a lot better now than it was a couple of days ago, but he still hasn’t managed to eat anything yet.

As you might imagine, this has delayed our plans a little bit. Originally we had thought to get 0.6.1 out this week, but it looks like we're going to need another one.

We’ve still made some progress regarding the male dragon character though. We thought we’d share what we’ve made so far:

We’ve also begun working on Charlotte - a new female cow character scheduled for release in the next cycle (0.7). (Basically Dogson got bored with retopoing the dragon and needed some time off doing other things.)

Still very much WIP, but she’s one of our favorites already and we can’t wait to see her in action.

We’ve also been busy with other things. The feather shader (that we showed briefly in a previous post) has received some love. Here are some images showing the progress:

Obviously, this shader is not supposed to be used on Wolf, but we don’t have a real avian character right now so we’re just trying things out on him instead (poor guy).

any chance of an udder added on to the cow, or is that asking a bit much?

wow, the cow looks amazing. Great job on the dragon as well. Here's hoping Dogson can make a speedy recovery.

For a big muscular character the dragon seems a little lacking downstairs. It would be really nice to have a competitor to the rhino in 'package' size. This would make 3 males in a row on the low end of the scale, with this dragon looking to fall close to the wolf in size. There are so many size difference scenes I've tried to make work, but can't; mainly due to the predominant gut on the rhino, his lack of facial expressions compared to newer models, or his older rigging. We need a new hung stud. The horse also suffers a lot from a lack of facial expressions, and compared to the rhino he's still small.

you what would be better? Character Customization like in MMORPGs. that way we wont have ppl nit picking about small shit like dik size. whant bigger dik? mak bigger dik. move a slider to the rite. dun. want mor titties? mak mor tities, moeve a slider to rite. dun. that feature would be very well received. i know they aready have "breast" increasing with the inflation sliders, but i would like a dik slider or a musle slider or a hip slider or a leg slider etc.

sorry to hear about the food poisoning. I had something similar about a week ago for 48hrs (maybe from korean bbq lettuce) and it was terrible. Will there be a chance of getting an alternate skin for the cow character? I would really love to see a "jersey cow" style bovine (and/or a holstein skin) if possible. The feather shader looks pretty neat, can it be retooled for thicker "feathers" to give a wool-like effect? could make for a nice sheep character. Looking forward to seeing what you guys end up making with it.

i hope dogson feels better soon. also, techy question: is the feather shader set up like a toggle between all fur and all feathers ? or is it controlled somehow using the skin assets?

Absolutely. We'll do several skins for Charlotte covering multiple types of cows for sure. That's an interesting idea. We might investigate a wool-shader at some point. Thanks for the suggestion! - odes

i might have worded myself weird, what i was thinking specifically was if it was determined somewhere like the furlength texture instead of the entire mesh or shader you could do a griffin-esque character

The fur and feather shaders are very similar in many ways. We use a map to control the length of the feathers.

it might not be doable depending on how you're switching it, but i was talking more a map to control feathers vs fur, so you could have fur legs and feathered torso/arms.

That can be acheived using several materials but in a single shader it would be more tricky. The feather shader does not support that.

Dogson you seem to have easier time making models than staying at good condition lmao. Kinda pity that dragon turned out to have exotic penis instead of the humanoid one. (Not complaining, still like it) Tbh that cock you made on futa version on Charlotte is the best I have ever seen from you, would be neat to see that one on some male character in the future. Ps. I love Charlotte since I first saw her on stream. My new fav character for sure!
